Despite all the injuries they can still put out a pretty good side, on a par with their standard team last season.

N Zogbia, Agbonlahor and Weimann up top, they'll look to counter with pace. Just have to be patient, don't force it, and hopefully our class will tell come the final whistle. Pelle hasn't scored for a couple of games, so must be a shoe in to score tonight.

Didn't "their standard team last season" nearly get relegated?

A lot of people betting on villa tonight according to some tipsters.

I bet on Villa too. £10 at 19/4. As someone else said hopefully I'll look on it as a happiness tax at the end of the game, if not that's £57.50 back. Amazing odds for a team playing at home, even if they are coming up against an in form team!

Well I'm betting based on stats and form, rather than my irrational paranoia that we're going to balls it up. I'm on 0-1, 0-2, 0-3. Hoping we keep it tight.

Graziano Pelle to score and SouthamptonFC to win is now 3/1.

That's the bet my friends. Stop p1ssing your money away on Villa win

Come on 0-0. That print goes on the lounge wall to remind me of a disappointing display against the Villa when we really should have won. :-) (and not on eBay like some of you ingrates!)

Gonna be a tougher game that some people think . They got a credible draw at wet spam recently, admittedly with a stronger team. If saints get their arse into gear early tho, I think we'll do it.

Was looking for team news on Saints twitter feed and had a small heart attack when I saw Gazza starting. Thank f**k it was just the U-21

I had a small heart attack reading this till I seen the England u21's

for anyone that doesn't have the club on Snapchat; Dusan and Morgan both on the video walking into Villa Park in full tracksuits and carrying wash bags so imagine they'll be featuring.

We know Tadic is OK more interested to know about Steven Davis.

Great news, cheers.

No problem tbh, only worry is no one off the bench to really change things...(Cork basically lol) Having said that, you never know, maybe Mayuka (if he comes on) will score!

Wow, he's going for it.. all four attacking players in the starting lineup. Last time out Cork replaced Davis when injured... this time it's more attack-minded. interesting.

Tadic into a more 'midfield' role I'd assume with Mane on Long on wings.

Thought he'd go cork though.

Doubtfull

He tends to go for blood when he smells it, as exampled in the West Ham game

I fully expect Tadic to be more central of the forward 3 but licensed to roam

Aston Villa: Guzan, Hutton, Okore, Clark, Cissokho, Cleverley, Sanchez, Westwood, N'Zogbia, Weimann, Agbonlahor ©. Substitutes: Given (GK), Bacuna, Cole, Richardson, Bent, Lowton, Grealish.

Well I guess since Villa have so many injuries, and crucially to their defence, he's really wanting to exploit that. Though I have to say, whilst we're attack minded, we still have a solid f*ckin defense in there, the usual culprits.

I have to say, whilst this will be a tough game for sure, I will be dissapointed if we don't win this. Being 100% realistic, based on both team's pre-break form, their injuries and our fully fit squad (minus Davis), we should be able to win this, by hook or by crook, especially with Koeman at the reigns.

Come on Saints, you can do this! set us up nicely for next week against City!!! :D

Rather dubious about that line-up. Would be far happier with cork in there. Guess I'll cross my fingers and hope it is a Koeman masterstroke.

It's our usual first choice side less Davis and with Long isn't it, or am I being obtuse. Cork isn't amongst Ronald's base structure I think.

dubious? it is one change!!!

To keep playing the way we've been playing we'd have Corky in for Davis, surely?

If Koeman thinks he can overpower Villa with offence (without much fear of their offence) he'd make the change he's made.

This is either going to go very well or very disappointingly, but we've seen no reason not to trust Koeman's judgment.

That would best be described as 'workman-like', is there anybody in that X1 who would get in our starting X1? (That's done it!)

guaranteed to lose now, lol

Agbonglahor would probably have thrived under Saints. Could still even DAJFU?

I used to think he was a good player but reading the Villa forums I don't think they rate him. Too hit and miss.
