fez Posted 19 November, 2014 Posted 19 November, 2014 I've seen a lot of people saying Tadic is out...is that confirmed anywhere? I have literally seen no official sources stating it. Nor have I. Physioroom for what it's worth has him with a knock, back on Monday http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php
richardc Posted 19 November, 2014 Posted 19 November, 2014 Someone else who we would sign in the summer, no doubt. I expect that someone else who we sign in the summer will be replacing Morgan
Batman Posted 19 November, 2014 Posted 19 November, 2014 not saints related but sturridge may well be out until the new year shame
Lighthouse Posted 19 November, 2014 Posted 19 November, 2014 I expect that someone else who we sign in the summer will be replacing Morgan Signing 2 players unlikely then you feel?
richardc Posted 19 November, 2014 Posted 19 November, 2014 Signing 2 players unlikely then you feel? Not unlikely but I think unnecessary Cork is a completely reliable and good Midfielder - who appears to be content enough to be rotated if necessary
Saint Charlie Posted 19 November, 2014 Posted 19 November, 2014 I've seen a lot of people saying Tadic is out...is that confirmed anywhere? I have literally seen no official sources stating it. Not confirmed he is out. Was a Serbian report saying he had a minor knock to his knee and was excused from their second game which was a friendly and had come back here for treatment.
andoru Posted 20 November, 2014 Posted 20 November, 2014 Damn. Just realised the Villa game's a Monday nighter. That's 4 am for me. Looks like I'm waiting yet another week of waiting to see Saints play.
The Cat Posted 20 November, 2014 Posted 20 November, 2014 I wish this would sell out so the decision of whether to spend £41 on a ticket is taken out of my hands. It's too much, but I still feel guilty for not going.
S-Clarke Posted 20 November, 2014 Posted 20 November, 2014 Didn't realise that Villa are potentially without Benteke, Delph, Baker, Vlaar, Senderos, Hutton That's 6 first team players out. One of their CB's will be Okore, who hasn't ever played for them I don't think. But he was always highly rated..

westofshannonsaint Posted 20 November, 2014 Posted 20 November, 2014 It's on at 5am here, I'm waking up for it! :-) From a Villa forum... There not very hopeful over there... I'm glad I won't be able to watch this game as it's on at 3 in the morning over here, I definitely won't be staying up to watch us get humiliated by the mighty Saints. 3-0 to them.
StChalkster Posted 20 November, 2014 Posted 20 November, 2014 More of a hopfull post, I don't sopose anybody out there knows a bar in Lubeck in Germany that might be showing the game on Monday night? I'm not staying with a football fan and only have ipad for internet... Any sugestions muchly appreciated.
The Cat Posted 20 November, 2014 Posted 20 November, 2014 It won't sell out. And I have monday and tuesday off work. I'm not doing a good job of convincing myself not to go.

One of their CB's will be Okore, who hasn't ever played for them I don't think. But he was always highly rated.. Continuing with the good news theme (IMO), Hutton is expected to be fit. Mané could take him to the cleaners - if he stays wide.
Goatboy Posted 20 November, 2014 Posted 20 November, 2014 Hutton has been in good form this season to be fair.
CanadaSaint Posted 20 November, 2014 Posted 20 November, 2014 Hutton has been in good form this season to be fair. Not in the games I've seen. Positionally weak, slow to get back, and quick to foul in dangerous places. My (Villa nut) mate can't stand watching him. I hope my Hutton plays and not yours.

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 I take it the press conference will be today?
hasper57saint Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 A couple of 'Villans' who are neighbours don't give Villa much of a chance. One of them predicts a 3-0 loss and Lamberts job on the line if the score is higher!
StChalkster Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 sportsnationHD have the game in ipad form cheers, very much apreciated
trousers Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 So, Villa will be celebrating their 140th anniversary in the build up before the game, with a parade of past stars etc. A distraction or a morale booster for them I wonder....?
Dan Johnson Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Is that David Brent asking the questions?!
notnowcato Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Having watched the Lambert press conference it's no wonder the Villa side are bang up for it all the time...
doddisalegend Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 From Villatalk Southampton have also got a bit of an injury crisis for this one, they're down to the bares bones. Where the hell did they get that idea or am I missing something?

Where the hell did they get that idea or am I missing something? PL Fantasy Football has Tadic, Davis and Schneiderlin as injured (75% likely to play) is all I can think of

trousers Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 (edited) Koeman: "Steven Davis doubtful for Monday (definitely wouldn't play if game was tomorrow). Hope Morgan will be fit for Monday but not fit enough to train today" Komena refused to discuss Cork or Clyne contract situations in any detail, although he elaborated more on wanting Clyne to re-sign than he did about Cork. On JRod: "Difficult so say when he'll be ready. Will only come back when he's 100% fit. Won't be hurried. Maybe January, maybe February" Koeman: "Any rumours of getting Lambert back on loan are untrue." On Tadic: "He's fit. Did a normal training session today. Will play on Monday" On JWP: "He's doing well. Will hopefully be back in around 3 weeks, but again, won't be rushed back" Edited 21 November, 2014 by trousers
CB Fry Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Are there rumours of Lambert coming back? Must have missed that.
trousers Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Are there rumours of Lambert coming back? Must have missed that. Was in response to a loaded question by the journo. Maybe he didn't use the word "rumour". Just me paraphrasing but was brushed aside with Dutch aplomb anyway
doddisalegend Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Are there rumours of Lambert coming back? Must have missed that. Only the one started on here which wasn't even a rumour more of a musing......

doddisalegend Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 So will it be a midfield of Jack, victor and Harrison Reed Monday night?
trousers Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 So will it be a midfield of Jack, victor and Harrison Reed Monday night? Koeman didn't rule out Davis or Schneiderlin being available but I guess those 3 would be the likeliest line up if Morgan and Davis fail to make it.
CB Fry Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Was in response to a loaded question by the journo. Maybe he didn't use the word "rumour". Just me paraphrasing but was brushed aside with Dutch aplomb anyway Lazy journo scum no match for our ginger destroyer.
SaintSteve Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Really wish I knew why the club don't seem to rate Cork don't think the lad has ever let us down. I think he is rated.. but maybe he's seen as blocking Ward-Prowse and/or Reed so he will be sold on that basis. he's better than both as the moment so I would hope his contract is extended.
Tom28 Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 From that press conference, I reckon we'll line up as follows: Forster Clyne Fonte Alderweireld Bertrand Cork Wanyama Schneiderlin Mane Pelle Tadic Subs: Davis, Gardos, Yoshida, Reed, Long, Mayuka, McQueen Feels light in midfield with Davis unlikely to play, JWP already out, and Schneiderlin a slight doubt. I suppose Alderweireld can step up in there if required. The sooner we get JWP back, the better.
Snopper Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Ronald is a truly impressive character - so much to admire and be grateful for - and his command of English has improved no end. I get the feeling he`s enjoying it here.
doddisalegend Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Koeman didn't rule out Davis or Schneiderlin being available but I guess those 3 would be the likeliest line up if Morgan and Davis fail to make it. Well if Morgan and Steven aren't 100% I'd rather they sat out Villa (who by all accounts have a 1st team decimated by injuries) and be fully fit for the three games after. Plus I'd quite like to see Reed given a full run out.

Saint Garrett Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 No problem with Reed stepping in alongside Cork and Wanyama, he's more than good enough to play the odd game for us. Looks a real talent, and would be good for his development.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Other options are Gardos at the back with Toby, Victor and (furtherst forward)Cork or maybe even Cork, Victor and Tadic with Mane and Long either side of Pelle.

GarrettIvo Posted 21 November, 2014 Posted 21 November, 2014 Damn. Just realised the Villa game's a Monday nighter. That's 4 am for me. Big challenge will be finding a TV showing it, and then convincing my honeymooning bride to let me watch it
