Ohio Saint Posted 4 November, 2014 Share Posted 4 November, 2014 From keegan, that is massive! He doesn't praise anyone but himself lightly. I enjoyed that immensely!
Gemmel Posted 4 November, 2014 Share Posted 4 November, 2014 For Southampton to finish in the top four would be a bigger achievement than finishing 2nd when we were there. Bloddy right it would be Kev...... You WEREN'T there
Saint_Ash Posted 4 November, 2014 Share Posted 4 November, 2014 Really enjoyed that, not the usual rhetoric of "yeah they're doing well but will fall back down the table where they belong". I don't think we'll finish top 4 but nice of some football people not completely dismissing it.
doddisalegend Posted 4 November, 2014 Share Posted 4 November, 2014 A club of limited resources these things are pretty relative I bet there are a hell of a lot of clubs that wish they had our resources
Dellman Posted 4 November, 2014 Share Posted 4 November, 2014 Why does Kevin think he was part of the team that ended second? He never played a match that season having left the year before.
sambosa75 Posted 4 November, 2014 Share Posted 4 November, 2014 Got a lot of time for Keegan. An absolute gent every time I've met him and he loves the Saints.

Bloddy right it would be Kev...... You WEREN'T there Indeed Stu. Keegan dipped out after Espana 82 having not really recovered from his dodgy back and missing a sitter as England were dumped out in the the second group stage (having not lost any of their 5 games!!). And of course we finished 2nd in 1984 (we finished 6th & 7th with Keegan)

Saint_clark Posted 4 November, 2014 Share Posted 4 November, 2014 Clearly just a slip of the tongue guys, earlier in the interview he says "after I left they went on to finish second".
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 4 November, 2014 Share Posted 4 November, 2014 Great to see KK looking so well. Always liked him - heart on his sleeve kind of guy and one of the best ever players to pull on a Saints shirt.

Always liked him - heart on his sleeve kind of guy and one of the best ever players to pull on a Saints shirt. Agree It wasn't just how good he was (at times down here he was out of this world!!!), it was also the impact on the Club and City of signing the Current European Footballer of the Year. Even though McMenemy had a knack of signing talented, experienced players (Osgood, Ball, Watson etc), this signing was huge. Only here for two seasons, but his impact was enormous. ExSt Peter Saint Posted 5 November, 2014 Share Posted 5 November, 2014 I wouldn't have started supporting the Saints if it weren't for KK. They've had years of loyal support due to his signing from someone who's never lived in Southampton.

Agreed, Have not seen a player with his ability. Nearest is that Aguero blokey at Citey - just double him to get Keegan.
