Saint_clark Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 Trying to buy two tickets for City at home. Got two season tickets registered on my account, select them both...but it says "a maximum of 1 ticket can be purchased. You currently have 2 purchased or booked". It's counting the season tickets as a purchased ticket, so I cannot buy any more. Fantastic system.
Minty Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 Tried phoning or emailing the ticket office? Suspect that might yield better results than posting on here...
Saint_clark Posted 3 November, 2014 Author Share Posted 3 November, 2014 Been on hold for 10 minutes. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that would mean I didn't have to wait.
WealdSaint Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 I have the same problem. Have emailed the ticket office but no reply as yet
ecuk268 Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 It does say 1 ticket per customer number so, if you've got a Season Ticket, presumably that counts.
Saint_clark Posted 3 November, 2014 Author Share Posted 3 November, 2014 Got through, they struggled to find my purchase history, didn't believe me when I said I'd bought previous tickets then finally found it (no doubt a "new system" at fault, always seems to be) and got the tickets booked. I thought the online bit was meant to make things quicker and easier?
The9 Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 I was going to suggest selecting 1 ticket for each ST, but then you wouldn't know that was going to work until after you'd already bought one and that would leave you open to potentially not being able to get the second one (or not being able to get the seat next to it). So instead, I'm suggesting you have the second ST on a different account number, tbh. Then you've got 2 customer numbers and can add the 2nd one as a "friend" to link it for multiple purchases. They've said all along that you should have separate customer numbers for each person, presumably because of system functionality problems with things like this. WealdSaint Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 Got thro' to the ticket office "computer says no". I can't retrospectively transfer all the tickets I have bought for my son to his name. So we are not going Not Happy!

The online system just isn't smart enough to differentiate season tickets and match tickets.
trousers Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 Got thro' to the ticket office "computer says no". I can't retrospectively transfer all the tickets I have bought for my son to his name. So we are not going Not Happy! I had a similar issue last season, for the Man Utd game (I'd always bought tickets for me and my son on the one customer number). They took one look at my purchase history and were happy to sell me two tickets over the phone as it was obvious I wasn't "trying it on". Maybe it depends who you get through to on the ticket line as to what level of discretion they use. Or maybe they've changed the system so it doesn't allow for discretion anymore, which would be a shame and a step backwards in terms of customer service. Maybe phone a few times in the hope you might get through to someone who's able/willing to 'bend the system'....? I've now set up an account for my son and always buy a ticket on each one. Sadly the guy on the phone wasn't interested in being helpful, despite my long record of buying two or more tickets every time for the last 7 or 8 years! If it was just down to the chap not being accommodating (rather than a computer constraint) then I'd be inclined to try a few more times until you get someone who might be more discerning. As long as they can see that you regularly buy tickets for two people, especially if its 1 adult + a concession then they should be able to use their discretion. If at first you don't succeed.... ladysaint Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 The ticket system is a farce. I have a ST but purchased extra tickets for WBA and Sunderland this season and neither showing on my online account. We managed to get extra tickets for Man City as had photographic evidence of the tickets purchased and also copy of the receipt so the TO couldn't argue and they have promised that this will be noted against our customer numbers. Minty Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 They only recently recruited a new Head of Customer Services I believe... they may not even have started yet. Anyway, I'm sure in this new era for the club they would want to engage with supporters and get this right, so perhaps a decently written letter to the club would perhaps get them to look into it and shed some light? It certainly needs some constructive conversation at least...
ladysaint Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 Maybe we could ask for David Luker to return.

It's obvious from my purchase history that I have been bringing a child (plus sometimes other adults) for years. Sad really as the lad & I made the long trip for quite a few of our low points (2-3 at home to Barnsley). I guess they'll easily fill the stadium without us :-( Edited 3 November, 2014 by WealdSaint

Berkshire Saint Posted 3 November, 2014 Share Posted 3 November, 2014 The system we had for the last two seasons wasn't fantastic but was still better than this year's. The most frustrating aspect is it allows you to choose the seats and get to the checkout before saying you aren't eligible/can't buy that many tickets. At least on the old system you were just blocked out until you became eligible.

COMEONYOUREDS Posted 6 November, 2014 Share Posted 6 November, 2014 Can someone help me, is this correct? Just been told by the ticket office I cannot use my season ticket to buy an extra ticket for the Man City game, as I have not already bought another extra ticket this season. Is that right? JRM Posted 6 November, 2014 Share Posted 6 November, 2014 It's all a complete farce, this game is going to struggle to sell out anyway at this time on a sunday on sky. plus Man City have only taken the smaller allocation of 2500 initial allocation so it is hardly like we have to worry about City fans buying up tickets in the home end . They should re-introduce a membership scheme and have a simple process of tickets going on sale to members first, then season ticket holders to buy extra seats, then open general sale. What they do today just confuses everyone.
Plastic Posted 6 November, 2014 Share Posted 6 November, 2014 (edited) Tried to buy three tickets (for myself and those I normally go with), received the message that I was only entitled to buy one. Yes I'd love to go to the game on my own, thanks saints. Total joke, will try again on general release, and if I can't get 3 together I won't be going unfortunately. Just phoned them - response was 'bad luck'. One per customer number. Edited 6 November, 2014 by Plastic

COMEONYOUREDS Posted 6 November, 2014 Share Posted 6 November, 2014 Can see this not selling out at this rate, shed loads left if you look online. Saints can only blame themselves if that happens. Why no general sale?
saint lard Posted 6 November, 2014 Share Posted 6 November, 2014 Tried to get a ticket for myself and my young son in the family section......the computer said no,.....or should I say the misery on the end of the line said no. I have a customer number but my son doesn't so hence he can't go. I was told that if I had got Southampton FC - The Next Chapter a customer number when we went to the Sunderland and games prior it would have been fine.
