Roger Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Id say Chelsea City Arsenal Man utd Then I'm struggling. Sure Liverpool or spurs could but not sure both will. If take our first 11 over spurs but they've a bigger squad. Think we will finish above Everton. Id say 7th with chance of 6th. Thoughts?
washsaint Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Chelsea, City and Arsenal. Then we have the best chance ever of 4th as Man U, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton are not what they were this year. Realistically 5th or 6th but a shot at 4th.....we will have a much better idea in January.

Wiggles31 Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 I think we have a realistic shout of finishing about Everton and Spurs and based on the first ten games think we can. Whilst Liverpool and Man Utd are stumbling I expect they will have stronger spells in the season. Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal are certainties to finish above us. So 4th spot I think will be between us, Liverpool and Man Utd but I personally think we won't make that but then again look how well we've done already. Who knows if we are in the top 6 come January if they will have a push for it. We would certainly need back up for Pelle (Lambert on loan?) if he gets injured or hits a rough patch. 6th spot I think is the most achievable and would an incredible season and we already have a great shout of reaching the Semis before the FA cup 3rd round has even been drawn. whelk Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 I wouldn't swap any Spurs player for any of our first team. Well Lloris maybe although happy with Forster. C'mon Villa
doddisalegend Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Depends on injuries to our team. There are some players which we don't have great cover for Pelle, Morgan and Forster come to mind lose them and we have problems. It's hard not to get a bit excited at the moment, with the way things are going, but there is still such a long way to go. Whether saints can sustain their current form all season and the bigger league sides can carry on being poor all season is the key. I still can't help feeling Man U, arsenal and Man city will get their sh it together soon and we will have another drop in form like we did last season. I'm not sure Liverpool, Everton or spurs will come good this season though so I'm starting to think we have a shot at top six which would be pretty amazing in the end though what I real want is a cup. slickmick Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Not sure why Man Utd seem to be held in such high esteem. There midfield is not as good as ours and they have a very unconvincing defence Think they will finish 7th again, below us.

Jack Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Ask me in 10 games time. Everyone is expecting us to fall apart after the next couple, but look at the games on their own. Citeh (h) - tough, but lost to Stoke at home, lost to WHU. We've won once and drawn once in this fixture in the last 2 seasons. Arsenal (a) - the hardest one, but we've already won there this season against a strong side United (h) - they lost to Leicester FFS, and have failed to beat plenty of dross this season. We'll have to play well to win of course, but no reason that we can't. Their defense is poor and we've got game changers
Jack Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 I think we've got a great chance of staying above one of United, Liverpool, Spurs and the rest FWIW

It's proper scary, I used to know I was asleep cos Saints would be winning 5-0 or whatever, but even in dreams I never had the temerity to record an 8-0 win or put us 2nd in the league. CeeBee Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 I haven't seen a better defensive unit than ours this season. All great teams start with a great defence. Our midfield is better than all but Chelsea in my opinion. In attack we could be more clinical in finishing perhaps. Sort this and I see no reason why we can't remain exactly as we are at present. If Chelsea slip up we could even lead the PL. Athletics Madrid did it last season, so can we.
Dalek2003 Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Whatever happens, if we remain above the bottom three, that is success ! This is especially true after the summer sale. If we finish in the top half then we will have had an amazing season.

SNSUN Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Calm down you lot, getting ahead of ourselves now. We'll still probably finish about 8th. Which would still be a very good achievement, better if it comes with a cup though. Personally I haven't seen much from the Liverpool clubs this season to suggest they'll do as well as they did last season, so I think 7th would be achievable, 6th if we have an injury free season. SaintBobby Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 I'm cheering on Man City and Chelsea in every match - we have no chance in finishing above either of them. So, I want them to beat United, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton etc. I think we do have a slim chance of 3rd or 4th - but think 7th is most likely outcome. It's There Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Never aim for second - if we win all our remaining games, then we win the league! Only Chelsea have shown anything like title form, apart from us. I hope city and chelsea etc draw loads now. Saints can win- they have winners in the side. Believe! Golden Balls Posted 2 November, 2014 Share Posted 2 November, 2014 Really depends how we do over our tough December run. Come out of that and who knows. Do what we did last season and we'll fall away big time. I'd love to think we could sneak 4th (Chelsea, City and Arsenal above us) but I think realistically 6th would be a great achievement. Hopefully with some well overdue silverware.
