Wiggles31 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Mane back in and hopefully a fresher team after a busy/excellent week. Fancy a 2-0 home win.
SNSUN Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Leicester's form isn't great. Should be a Saints win.
S-Clarke Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Ah, the good old complacency driven slip up could beckon if we're not careful... Tough game against the best of the promoted 3. Will need to be at our best.
ThreeSixty Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Have to be winning this. They haven't scored in 5.
SNSUN Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Have to be winning this. They haven't scored in 5. Since I put Ulloa in my dream team, interestingly. FFS.
Dalek2003 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 I am sure the team will go out and give Leicester full respect. We need to get 3 points here.
Toomer Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 A week to recharge the batteries after two tough away games and we should take all three points, I hope Pearson gets a good reception because I don't think he did a bad job for us.
eelpie Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 I hope Nigel Pearson gets a good reception from Saints fans. He did well to keep us in the Championship before a certain duckshooter sacked and replaced him. We should win if we re are not tired and complacent.
Jack Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Fecking tear them a new one. I'd like to see them and Pearson have a decent season, but got to go for the throat on Saturday.
waylander Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Looking forward to this one as it is the first game I can attend. Should be a solid 3 points.
krissyboy31 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Deano, if he plays should get a good reception, as should Pearson. Nugent however should get it with both barrells and hopefully Big Vic will do a job on him (if you know what I mean ).
nta786 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Since I put Ulloa in my dream team, interestingly. FFS. Keep him in your team one more week!
SNSUN Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Keep him in your team one more week! It's him or Valencia as Berahino ain't coming out any time soon!
Roger Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Pearson should get good reception. Awful decision from that idiot Lowe to replace him.
stug76 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 **** Pearson. No love for him, should win this at a canter. Saints to win by 3 or 4
Roger Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 **** Pearson. No love for him, should win this at a canter. Saints to win by 3 or 4 Was good for us. Proven since he's class. Do you like anyone?
stug76 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Was good for us. Proven since he's class. Do you like anyone? Never got the love in for Pearson. He's a typical journey man manager. I don't think it would have made a difference whether he was given the job or not. Do I like anyone? Yes I do.
Roger Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Never got the love in for Pearson. He's a typical journey man manager. I don't think it would have made a difference whether he was given the job or not. Do I like anyone? Yes I do. He is a great man. Met him and has so much love for sfc.
Dr Who? Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 weird feeling on this one, saying easy 3 points for ages and now thinking, it has the perfect makings for a premier league classic slip up! But saying that, surely not 3-0
stug76 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 He is a great man. Met him and has so much love for sfc. If you wanted to tell everyone that you'd met him, why didn't you just do that? How much love has he got for the saints then? More than he has for Leicester?
Saint_Tony Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Another tough game, a few signs of tiredness today, hopefullt RoKo gives them a bit of rest in the week. Leicester have struggled for goals recently. It's quite incredible how well we're doing, the last few games have proved we're a cut above a lot of teams in this league. Whilst I am worried it's all a bit too good to be true what is happening right now, and convinced we're due a defeat, confidence is high and we're playing too well. Saints 3-0 Leicester
Roger Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 If you wanted to tell everyone that you'd met him, why didn't you just do that? How much love has he got for the saints then? More than he has for Leicester? Enjoy the win and stop being a kid.
S-Clarke Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 If you wanted to tell everyone that you'd met him, why didn't you just do that? How much love has he got for the saints then? More than he has for Leicester? Bad day or something? Did it really warrant that response? Take a chill pill or something.
Roger Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 I can't wait for the game. Hope it's a big crowd. This really is dreamland. Loving every minute.
Patrick Bateman Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Since I put Ulloa in my dream team, interestingly. FFS. Likewise. C*nt. (Him, not you)
Patrick Bateman Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 **** Pearson. No love for him, should win this at a canter. Saints to win by 3 or 4 Enjoyed the "staying up" season we had with him and he came across as a decent bloke! So a bit harsh, Mr Lowe.
Wiggles31 Posted 1 November, 2014 Author Posted 1 November, 2014 I like Leicester and hope they do well this season but with all due respect to them we are firing on all cylinders and couldn't be playing a better team at home as they are not scoring and losing games. I'll give a good reception to Pearson and the opposite to that smug little skate Nugent.
SNSUN Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Forster Clyne Bertrand Davis Morgan Tadic Mané Long Pellè Mayuka Gallagher. There, nice and attacking formation. Let's better 8-0. ;-) (Seriously? Unchanged team from today Ta.)
scotty Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Since I put Ulloa in my dream team, interestingly. FFS. Well, f*cking keep him in there then.
Appy Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Hope Hammond gets a great reception if selected, hope Nugent gets a horrible one.
Seaside Saint 2 Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 I hope Nigel Pearson gets a good reception from Saints fans. He did well to keep us in the Championship before a certain duckshooter sacked and replaced him. We should win if we re are not tired and complacent. Between when Strachan left and Pardew arrived I would say Pearson was the only decent manager we had in those barren years.
Deano6 Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 Deano, if he plays should get a good reception, as should Pearson. Nugent however should get it with both barrells and hopefully Big Vic will do a job on him (if you know what I mean ). I won't be I'm afraid. The old knee problem's flaring up again. Thank you for your kind words tho.
igsey Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 Dean Hammond deserves a great reception, maybe bring out his old song (if anyone still remembers it!)? Nugent deserves everything he gets, surprised he didn't link up with Arry, I'm pretty sure there was some kind of love-in going on there.
Jack Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 Never got the love in for Pearson. He's a typical journey man manager. I don't think it would have made a difference whether he was given the job or not. Do I like anyone? Yes I do. Did he **** your missus or something? He did a decent job for us with a sh*t squad, and always came across as a decent bloke despite getting treated so badly by Lowe. Deserves a decent reception.
Shroppie Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 Did he **** your missus or something? He did a decent job for us with a sh*t squad, and always came across as a decent bloke despite getting treated so badly by Lowe. Deserves a decent reception. Agreed.
doddisalegend Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 If we are as good as we think we are this has got to be 3pts. Not to bothered about Pearson was hardly at saints for two minutes. I'm really hopping Hammond gets to play though he is an ex player I have a lot of time for.
Bearsy Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 Did he **** your missus or something? He did a decent job for us with a sh*t squad, and always came across as a decent bloke despite getting treated so badly by Lowe. Deserves a decent reception. That's sort of how I remember it too, but when I looked it up turns out he only presided over 3 wins from 14 games, which even given weak team ain't exactly pulling up trees. In other news, with 76% win rate, Koeman is currently the best Southampton Manager OF ALL TIME. I mean, statistically

SuperMikey Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 This will be my 2nd game of the season - my first was QPR so expect something spectacular lads! Will be interesting to see what kind of reception Nigel Pearson gets from us. Doubt many there will even know he managed us tbf!
hasper57saint Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 I quite like Leicester as they are similar to Saints in size and supporters. Pearson will get my applause so too will Deano. Nugent? Bowlicks!!!
Shroppie Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 I have a lot of respect for Nigel Pearson. He instilled belief in team that had none and saved us from relegation, against the odds. Didn't deserve to be pushed out. Yes, we've had technically better managers but his commitment and passion were great and he had a really good close rapport with fans.
Ooooo Mariaaan Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 Pearson didn't go because of form, he went because he was on stupid money and wouldn't budge. We couldn't afford it - so he went. You could argue that he made the position untenable, not the other way round.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 I hope Hammond plays too, because he's not very good.
Faz Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 Pearson didn't go because of form, he went because he was on stupid money and wouldn't budge. We couldn't afford it - so he went. You could argue that he made the position untenable, not the other way round. he was out of contract. Wouldn't/Couldn't accept what was on offer so didn't sign a new one.
Weston Saint Posted 2 November, 2014 Posted 2 November, 2014 I do not get all this blaming Lowe. The previous guys spent too much without a return and even though Crouch came to the rescue for a while it was too late. They gambled with our future and lost! Lowe came back in to see if he could rescue but there was no money to pay for a decent Manager like Pearson. That is why we went down the cheap route. Even then it was too late. If we had not been in the financial mess I am confident Pearson would have been engaged for a longer spell. However that is in the past. The present is beyond our wildest dreams from those dark days.

Lowe shouldn't have come in in first place. Brought nothing to table. He made mistake after mistake with managers and was the worst thing to happen to club.

You could argue that he made the position untenable, not the other way round. He wasn't on stupid money at all. Believe me.
