SuperMikey Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Blimey, what a feeling to be a Saints fan at the moment!
angelman Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 God there are some big girl's blouses on here. Did Forster have a save to make? Wanyama my MotM
Wiggles31 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 YES! Can it get any better?!?!? What a week. Tired performance but well defender and grinded the result out. Weeks rest and onto Leicester!
SNSUN Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Keep grinding out wins from games we might have drawn in previous seasons. Magic. Another clean sheet. Chelsea must be cacking themselves. :-)
Ohio Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Jebus!!! Pleased with Saints, but Hull desreve the utmost respect.
moonraker Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 That is exactly the sort of win that differentiates the good from the best.
eurosaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Deep joy, we sure know how to grind out wins these days :) !!
ThreeSixty Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Comfortable 1-0. Looked abit leggy from midweek but were never troubled by Hull.
badgerx16 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Only saw the 2nd half, but based on that a deserved 3 points, and should have been a greater margin.
Batman Posted 1 November, 2014 Author Posted 1 November, 2014 Interesting game we looked slower than normal but defended brilliantly what a tremendous goal missed two absolute sitters mind and unlike the spurs game, it (they) never cost us great away win
Beckenham Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 I feel like a real glory hunter at the minute...
cellone Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Wasn't pretty but the 3 pts are fkn gorgeous.
sfc1976 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Need to be less wasteful if we're to catch Chelsea, but a good win nevertheless.
Bewildered Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Back four and Wanyama were immense, could have been out there until next Saturday and not let anything through. In the end some poor finishing from Mané and Pelle was all that prevented it from ending 3-0.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 The art of defending. Forster had nothing to save
yellow&blue Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it...........and that's what gets results!!
Bearsy Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 oh my fuck title challenge pls! i would give (tokyos) left nut for title challenge! I would also like cup win pls. Also, while I'm at it, million pounds pls.
T.REX Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 It wasn't a classic attacking display but after a long week that was a great result and we still managed to create much better opportunities than they hull. Toby was a rock.
mynameisthehulk Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Fonte and Alderweireld immense today.
trousers Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Brilliant 3 points after two tough games vs Stoke. Wanyama MotM by a country mile, regardless of the goal
Mr X Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 we were nowhere near our best today and not great up front today but defended superbly and ground out the win!
trousers Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 I know we're good but two match reaction threads? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?52252-Hull-v-Saints-Match-thread-and-reactions/page5#.VFUQnfmsUrU
Bucks Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Sign of an excellent team, played below our best by a reasonable margin, still won. Brilliant team effort
ericb Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 And on we go. Not the best performance i've seen from us this season and Pelle was actually a little wasteful in places. Credit to Hull though their midfield was one of the few i've seen that have actually competed all game with ours. Wanyama was a beast again today, by no means the prettiest or most technically talented of footballers but the guy is such a unit he can get away with it. Also thought both Toby and Fonte were monsters in defence. 2nd in the league 22pts, +17 goal difference and only conceded 5 goals and it's the start of November. If you'd told me that would be the case in the summer i'd have told you were certifiable! Great stuff.
bpsaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Incredible run of form we're on, shame QPR couldn't hold on a bit longer so we could close the gap!! Looked very tired at times, especially Tadic and Pelle, hope they have a couple of good days rest now.
WealdSaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 A good win, should really have been 3-0. We March On
Jonnyboy Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Amazing run continues, looking forward to Barcelona at St Mary's next year
Ohio Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Vic's goal REALLY was the difference in this case. Sure, it needed a defensive error, but it also needed an inch-perfect lob, expertly taken. Full credit to Hull. They were a very solid team. Much better than some other teams with a bigger reputation......A lot like Saints really!!
Saint Charlie Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Great win and a week to rest up before another winnable one. Mane might have had a horror miss but he adds a lot to the team and should start when fit.
Katalinic Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Excellent defending. The perfect away performance.
Saints foreva Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Attacking wise we were very frustrating today. Pelle and Mane both missed sitters. Mane's somehow being worse than his one against Spurs but what a performance from the defensive players. Wanyama my MOTM, Fonte and Toby run him close though.
Bearsy Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 we seemed to find it pretty hard to pick our way through hull packed midfield, particularly first half. Spose it was cos of hull weird formation or whatever. Hull had a good go, I thought, they look a decent side but never really looked like scoring, because we're too awesome Edit: MOTM Jose pls
saint lard Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Wow. We are playing just like a title challenging club. Grinding out results when playing poorly is something I could get used to. Quite remarkable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
trousers Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 That goals conceded column is something special
S-Clarke Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 A gritty performance, I thought in parts in the first half we were complete pants in terms of ball control - but luckily that was only a short phase, and we got to grips with it thereafter. Hull huffed and puffed, but similar to Stoke last weekend, never look like scoring and never tested forster. People will say it's because Hull were poor in attack, but as a defensive back 5 (I include Wanyama in that) we were unbeatable in that 2nd half. Diame v Wanyama was always going to be an interesting battle, and seeing how frustrated Diame was at the end said it all. Another battle won fair and square by Wanyama. Can't quite believe what I'm seeing really. I think we're a better outfit than last year tbh.
VectisSaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Fitting to get another win on All Saints Day.
Bearsy Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Also, I missed the goal cos of Internets, so gif video pls!
cellone Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Need to be less wasteful if we're to catch Chelsea, but a good win nevertheless. lmfao.
Saint Rees Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 These are the sorts of results that are most important and its down to Koeman. Get a good weeks training in and onto Leicester for hopefully another 3 points!
Jimmy_D Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Over a quarter of the season gone and we're top two. People will point at our fixtures so far, but we're picking up points where other teams have slipped. Factor in that Koeman has a very good reputation for picking up wins against top teams... That little tiny chance of a top four spot is growing by the week.
OLDER BUT WISER Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Battling and superb performance, if we can start to take our chances we could put 8 past someone soon.
Ulrich van Gobbel Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Fantastic result and brilliant support from the travelling Saints supporters!
