Ohio Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Close up of Clyne looking nervous. We are a goal up, but it somehow feels like we are losing! Weird!
Sheaf Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 You are being overly dramatic. He does have a point though. Hull are the ones asking all the questions at the moment, and we haven't found our attacking rhythm yet. The early goal and the potential for more howlers from their dodgy keeper are making things look more hopeful for us though.
Plastic Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 They are at home, they are playing well. We are winning. 'Miles better' is inaccurate.
BotleySaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Diame is a beast. He's causing us problems.
slickmick Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Forsters positioning really poor. He really worries me. He worries me too. I still prefer Boruc.
Batman Posted 1 November, 2014 Author Posted 1 November, 2014 they are doing very well in closing down the space
Saint86 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 We looked knackered, and the ref is giving us nothing, yet giving every little flick or throw in against us. Not looking good despite the early goal.
JakkoUK Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 We haven't got into this game at all at the moment. Tadic has hardly touched the ball and Pelle is being marked pretty well.
sfc1976 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Look understandably tired. Forster looks average, and Long is poo in truth.
Plastic Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Christ almighty, imagine what this thread would look like if we were losing.
Batman Posted 1 November, 2014 Author Posted 1 November, 2014 Look understandably tired. Forster looks average, and Long is poo in truth. how does he look average? what has he done to do that?
nta786 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Two cagey, physical and tough affairs against Stoke are taking its toll now. Very tired indeed. Regardless, we have the lead, and they do have a dodgy keeper. I'd like Mane on at half time!
BotleySaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 We are holding it together well. If we can make it to half time and then perhaps spruce things up a bit with some subs. I agree Tadic is tired, Pelle too. But the rest are doing ok. For all Hull's huffing and puffing they've not had many proper chances yet. Long will grow into the game.
Ohio Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 how does he look average? what has he done to do that? There was a trend on the forum earlier. People read that and project onto what they are seeing.
sfc1976 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 how does he look average? what has he done to do that? I meant looks wise, relative to Pelle.
Joey-deacons-left-nut Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Shane Long- This seasons Bret Ormerod

Ohio Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 I'm not seeing this theme of tiredness from us. Hull are playing well, that's all.
Chez Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Long should score there but he just doesn't have that killer instinct.
andoru Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Hull look well on top to be honest. We got pretty lucky with the goal, and haven't shown much else since. Need Koeman to give one of his half-time arse rocket speeches.
saints1988 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 I'm not seeing this theme of tiredness from us. Hull are playing well, that's all. Disagree. I have never seen Clyne being this out of depth in a long time if ever
Batman Posted 1 November, 2014 Author Posted 1 November, 2014 I think hull have played us very well more often than not, our passes our having to go square or even backwards interesting game
angelman Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Is this level of moaning normal on match threads?
Ohio Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Hull have plenty forward when they get the chance, but Saints are being more effective and economical with the numbers up front when getting forward. We should win this if it goes on this way.
nta786 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 december is going to be worse true, but if we get european football through league position or cup then we'd have to play every 3 days anyway, might as well get used to it now... sign of a good team, to grind out a result when not playing well..
sandwichsaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Not surprising we are tired! We've just gone 186 minutes against a very physical Stoke side. Koeman's played a blinder for me, ne avoids the 8-0 hangover/banana skin and collects 3 very solid points at home to Stoke and then plays a really solid selection away in the LC and progresses into the next round, saying that the LC is a realistic and welcome goal for us. It's a bit of a free shot today really, away against a decent Hull side and with a goal start, hopefully we can get something out of the game today and go again next week. What's not to like?
Sheaf Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Ref isn't giving us anything today. Every time a Hull player pushes one of ours over he just lets it go.
Ohio Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Is this level of moaning normal on match threads? I only come here for the sexy nuns.
SNSUN Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 I only come here for the sexy nuns. Been a distinct lack of them this season as they've not been needed. Lucky fags not needed either. The parrots are loving me this season too.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 If we look tired then that is the trade off that needs to be made for picking a very strong team in the cup. Tadic was done in after 65mins vs Stoke but played the whole game and then again on Weds. At least we have players of the quality of Cork and Mane to use 2nd half.
Ohio Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Oh! I forgot about the ex-player rule!!! Long has to score for us!!
BotleySaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Diame is bullying Clyne. But Clyne is doing well so far.
Batman Posted 1 November, 2014 Author Posted 1 November, 2014 HT great goal they have been the better side but we have been very good in defence
BotleySaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Decent first half. We've kept them at arms length and got lucky with the goal.
Plastic Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Fairly even half. Hull had the best of it, but we're winning.
sandwichsaint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Fantastic love our 'professional approach', a simple foul on Clyne at RB and we must have taken 30 seconds to get the ball back in play. Love it (when we do it!)
verlaine1979 Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Hull look a decent side, two CMs who can pass accurately, and a fair bit of pace and power in Diame, Brady & Hernandez. No surprise they are causing a few problems.
warsash saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Winning away, 2nd in table & 'fans' still moaning about Forster & Long!!! & no Alpine in sight. Only on Saintsweb!
ART Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Ormeroid was tons better than Long will ever be. Long is sheer rubbish, dives blatantly and couldn't put the goal into a open net.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Winning away, 2nd in table & 'fans' still moaning about Forster & Long!!! & no Alpine in sight. Only on Saintsweb![/quote Nothing like a good moan for some...
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 Ormeroid was tons better than Long will ever be. Long is sheer rubbish, dives blatantly and couldn't put the goal into a open net. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Sheaf Saint Posted 1 November, 2014 Posted 1 November, 2014 A strange half for us. If it weren't for the gift from their keeper and the score was still 0-0 I would be a lot more concerned. We haven't created anything so far, except for the through ball to Long who maybe should have done better (although watching the replay it looked like he got an unfortunate bobble just as he tried to hit it). Hull have got the better of the midfield, but for all their possession in our half we haven't really allowed them a clear sight of goal yet, which is encouraging. I would like to see us push to get another goal to make it more comfortable, but my gut instinct as that it will finish a draw.
