General Election 2015

Nah, it's the semi-regular reminder that Jamie doesn't bother reading anything anyone says.

Not that it was remotely due a refresh.

I'm not into defending Jamie, but that was all a bit extreme! Like rabid dogs feeding on a dead rabbit. I suppose that's what you 'caring' lefties are like though.

And I suppose right-wingers take complete fúcking left-wing idiots into their weaving communes (or whatever the devil it is they do). You are looking at one incident and making it representative of the whole. It's fkn Jamie, dude. You should be amazed he doesn't get more shít. I think that on the whole, the site is pretty tolerant of others' opinions. When you can evidently see that someone doesn't give a clean fúck about what others have written, or indeed, what he writes himself, why shouldn't he be immune from criticism when ably demonstrating both points?

Calm down, I was joking, hence why I put the smiley at the end!

Despite being a proud mush I love living up north. Stunning countryside on the doorstep for cycling, good people, great cities such as Manchester up the road, decent infrastructure and for the average bloke a good standard of living can be had leaving plenty of coin in the pocket.

The only downside of where I currently live is being away from the sea.

I live 60 yards from the high tide mark, and have clear views to the Forest of Bowland, which is 10 miles away. What's not to like.

According to FT the Media Standards Trust have looked at the papers election coverage to see which has been the most partisan paper during this election .

So, which one was it.

The Sun? Nope

Must be The Fail ? Nope.

Step forward The Daily Mirror.

They obviously didn't include the Torygraph then.

Who'd have guessed? Either way, the point still stands, my quality of life and disposable income would be lower up North, even with the drop in house prices and day to day living costs.

Yeah, but as I said, property is cheaper and more people lack opportunity.

You could have ten housing benefit cheques coming your way instead of just the one. Just no big-picture thinking, UJ, even when applied to yourself.

So, who are we all voting for then? My area of Bristol are going to vote green me think... I kid you not, its an openly stoner area.

I'm in a safe Labour seat and mine are three of the votes that keep it that way.

Guess you're in Bristol West then - unsurprising that they'd vote Green considering it all kicked off when Tesco were going to open a store there!

Edinburgh South & West is my constituency, formerly Alastair Darling's seat for a number of years. Looks like they're going to be ousted by the SNP like everywhere else in Scotland although personally i'll be voting Green. Would be surprised if they managed to break more than a few thousand votes where I am but it's a matter of principle..

This is the toss up in our house* at the moment. The gf, being from just outside Manchester (well actually Altrincham, Chester but she says MCR) is keen to go up North as it's cheaper. She's a Doctor, will be a GP in a few years so she's sweet. After years of pestering, I'm now a games (well, level) designer. There's the odd bit here and there, but in the main my industry is based here in London.

I'm sure I'm not alone in being tied to a City due to the industry they work in. As I keep trying to tell her, we're better off both in work in a more expensive City than me out of work in a cheaper part of the country.

Looking out the office window right now, I'm struggling to believe even that last part.

I do still love London though. It's a special City, which rivals any in the world. Something needs to give though, it cannot carry on pricing out everyone except the super wealthy whilst travel cost carry on to go through the roof too. Living and commuting is becoming stupidly prohibitive to lower income earners which any City needs.

>In b4 "rabble rabble rabble, blame the immigrants".

Nah, that's ********. We've chronically ignored infrastructure (homes, schools, hospitals etc) as a nation for years. With or without immigration.

*By house, I of course mean tiny little rented flat.

You're mad, you could live like a king up north while she works and you PLAY computer games!

omg i can't decide who to do a vote for! Turns out you can't vote for the main bros you see on tv where i live, you have to vote for some other bros i never heard of! I was gonna vote for the conservative bro, cos i thought he would put in a good word for me with the main bro whose running the country at the moment, but I've just found out the Labour bro is called Rob Pocock, which is a mark in his favour

Here is my choices. We seem to be lacking Diversity, where I live

64 LIBDEM Richard Brighton-Knight (dbl barrel name - would not vote for this bro)

64 UKIPS Marcus John Brown (why mention middle name? would not vote for this bro)

64 CON Andrew Mitchell (looks v.old - would not vote for this bro)

64 LAB Rob Pocock (looks ok might vote for this bro)

64 GREEN David Ratcliff (bald - would not vote for this bro)

176012_64.jpg?1394666625 UBUNTO Mark Sleigh (power of invisibility - might vote for this bro. What is an Ubunto?)

Oh my god. Boring old white men in suits. No offence to all the white men in suits that frequent this site, which I'm sure is about 90% of you.

I could do with more of you mugs paying for my daughters flat, I agree.

Ah, the old "have enough kids to get a council house" routine! I hear from the right wing press that it works quite well. Very clever of you to grab both ends of the market. Let's hope she doesn't fk it all up by wanting to better herself academically or something, thus avoiding the multi-scoop jackpot.

I jest of course, and used more straw than the entire run of Worzel Gummidge.

Was reading today somewhere, sky news possibly, that a lab/con coalition isnt unthinkable.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't be surprised by anything, however the one thing stopping that is the old guard from each side who are "anyone but Labour" and "anyone but Tory". Both sides still have them.
