SFCRedandWhite Posted 24 November, 2014 Posted 24 November, 2014 I just bought my tickets, and I'm in the upper tier. What's going on there? Have we got to the point where they are now selling to top tier (even allocation in both including the 800 tickets) or are the +800 in the top tier by themselves?
oldsarum Posted 24 November, 2014 Posted 24 November, 2014 original allocation was lower tier online tickets lower tier now sold out, hence why now selling upper tier
alehouseboys Posted 24 November, 2014 Posted 24 November, 2014 http://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/big-turn-out-on-the-cards-from-saints-fans.37076/ "Apparently the club are to give non season ticket holders a guaranteed home Semi Final ticket should they beat us as well which is more incentive for them to travel up." That's probably news to Saints fans...has anyone seen that, looks like he's making it up as he goes along! Should do tho', no mean feat for a midweek 400-mile round trip a few days before the festivities, 'er indoors' stocking will be a little less full this year!
LGTL Posted 24 November, 2014 Posted 24 November, 2014 Anyone who ordered these online had them through yet?
alehouseboys Posted 24 November, 2014 Posted 24 November, 2014 Dear 'highpeakblade' (I see you're watching) don't take it to heart I ain't "stirring", you've just quoted a fan's suggestion as fact, looked like you knew something we didn't Good luck to you lot for getting out of L1, look what happened to us. Looking forward to visiing up to Sheffield again, make sure the pubs stock up.
krissyboy31 Posted 25 November, 2014 Posted 25 November, 2014 Tickets bought. Me and the lad (even with postage) £24 for both. Can't be bad.
Bucks Saint Posted 25 November, 2014 Posted 25 November, 2014 Seriously looking forward to this one. Arriving in Sheffield about 2pm, just enough time for a quick couple
Cherrypicker Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 even driving up and staying night not too expensive I'm in Hotel which is £30 for 3 Adults in 3 beds, can't be bad 3 adults in the bed plus you?
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Not received any tickets yet. Booked on Wednesday. Anyone else in the same boat?
SFC Chris Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Managed to book a room at the Holiday Inn, a queen size bed, a double bed and a double sofa bed (room must be massive) with breakfast thrown in for £45.00 - chuffed with that. Only £95.75 for travel, match ticket and hotel coming down from the West of Scotland, hopefully we'll have a result to celebrate.
stevegrant Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Not received any tickets yet. Booked on Wednesday. Anyone else in the same boat? I got mine the day they went on sale and they only arrived yesterday. The club seem to post the tickets in batches these days rather than as soon as the order's been received. Probably makes it a bit more efficient for them, but it's pretty frustrating as a customer, especially if you've bought a load of tickets that you want to distribute beforehand.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Ok thanks Steve. I'm sure they'll turn up. Just that I booked some extra man city and arsenal and they both came pretty much next day
Saint-Armstrong Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Saints have got another allocation, of 600 more tickets, after the last 1,200 or so sold out in 48 hours. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20141126-sheffield-united-tickets-2105234.aspx
Saint_clark Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 So that's 4k so far then? Or am I making up a batch of tickets.
stevegrant Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 So that's 4k so far then? Or am I making up a batch of tickets. 4008 in total, seems likely this additional 600 is the last batch we'll be given.
View From The Top Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 4000 to Sheffield mid-week just before Xmas is a fantastic effort. I'll be there!
Shroppie Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Looking forward to this one. Afternoon on Kelham Island, the match, curry and cheap overnighter. Just need a good win to make it perfect.
The Cat Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Fantastic stuff. Should be a great atmosphere. No doubt they'll stick a picture of our support up on twitter that night and some knobber will still claim it's **** support.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Sounds like a cracking turnout, fairplay!!
Bucks Saint Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 This has a Leyton Orient feel to it - all sorts of people making the effort to be there, because, well, so many other people are. Quality
100%Red&White Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 2,600 in the lower tier so we must have around half of the top tier (not including the newer corner section) at the mo with 1,400 up there. I guess the Police ideally wouldn't want home fans above the aways so a good chance we may be offered another couple of blocks if needed. This is set up for a big old fashion cup atmosphere, they'll make a racket and hopefully our lot will be bouncing around from the start.
RedWillie Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Derby in the play offs type stuff hopefully with a different ending!

I asked the club on Twitter if there is likely to be any additional, and they said they expected that to be the last batch. However, IMO, if the demand is there then we'll be given more, they've only sold 11k so far.
Lets B Avenue Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Derby in the play offs type stuff hopefully with a different ending! Winning 3-2 with a last minute goal was repeated at Stoke in the last round.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Great effort. Gutted I can't make it.

See you in the bar - Mrs K and I are in the Holiday Inn arriving lunchtime
niceandfriendly Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Wish I could be at this one. Sometimes watching on the beach with a cocktail in hand just can't compare to being there. Love a good cup run especially with loads of fans making the effort to go. Hope you all have a great night and see a win.
The Cat Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 They've only sold 11k?! Shocked at that, thought it would be popular as hell. Me too. I was expecting a near sell out.
hypochondriac Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 I'll be there! Driving up in the morning with 4 mates. Can't wait.
petermcpete Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 I'll be there, with 3 mates in the lower tier - recently moved to Derby so not too far for me either! Cannot wait, should be a great atmosphere from us.
Mouldy Coat Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 We'll take 5000 to this easy, so long as sheff Utd will offer us the additional seats
West Stand Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 I'm going, son in law is a United supporter, so I'm going with his brother into the South stand, I won't count!!!
nta786 Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 should I go... lol- I live all the way in Kent... How do you think they will prioritise tickets for the final at Wembley (if we make it) guys?
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 should I go... lol- I live all the way in Kent... How do you think they will prioritise tickets for the final at Wembley (if we make it) guys? Definitely, the more the merrier. Train can be got for 50 quid return from St Pancras...
CB Fry Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 4,000 is immense, looking like we will sell that easily. Nice to see the magic of cup football alive and well.
Bucks Saint Posted 26 November, 2014 Posted 26 November, 2014 Definitely, the more the merrier. Train can be got for 50 quid return from St Pancras... I paid £27 for my return from kings cross via Retford!
Jayblade Posted 27 November, 2014 Posted 27 November, 2014 Hi all. Sheffield United fan here in peace. Read through this thread and you'll be allocated the top tier of the away end, the capacity of that stand is not far of 4,300. I understand we gave you another allocation taking it up to 4,300. No clubs have managed to fill the top tier this season, therefor the bottom tier hasn't been used at all this season. If you manage to sell 4,000 i see no reason why we wouldn't give you another couple of thousand especially as cup runs bring good money in. Regarding the game, i don't think its gonna be as far between as fans think, Clough really knows how to get his team up for a cup game, as we've seen last season. Southampton flying high in the Premier League, but we've seen it all before, no disrespect to Southampton, but Blackpool was 4th in the league at the same point the season they went down. All in all it should be a good close encounter, but I'm predicting Sheffield United 2-1 Southampton, possible going into ET. Hope the ones that are travelling have a safe journey to and from the ground.
Jayblade Posted 27 November, 2014 Posted 27 November, 2014 Sorry, that prediction should read Sheffield United 1-2 Southampton. Couldn't find where to edit the post.

Southampton flying high in the Premier League, but we've seen it all before, no disrespect to Southampton, but Blackpool was 4th in the league at the same point the season they went down. Lol. Yeah we're definitely just like Blackpool. We're going down. Let's smash these.
ericofarabia Posted 27 November, 2014 Posted 27 November, 2014 even driving up and staying night not too expensive I'm in Hotel which is £30 for 3 Adults in 3 beds, can't be bad You got a damn good deal there. I'm paying 35 quid and they aren't including any ladies with the beds, not even breakfast Are you going for the blonde, brunette, red head combo Seems there will be a fair few Saints staying overnight in Sheffield.

To be fair, I don't think many believe it'll be easy, wouldn't expect anything less than a battle at this stage of the cup but you have to accept there'll be optimism. We're playing well (under par at Villa), second in the country playing a side 2 divisions below, let's be honest, we should edge it. But life ain't always like that. I like Bramall Lane, modernised but still the feel of a traditional ground, it will be a top atmosphere, all the ingredients for a feisty cup tie. Good luck with getting out of L1...I always liked Tony Currie back in the day!

Unnecessary and inaccurate comparison to Blackpool who had a flirt with fourth place after about three games in August, not quite the same as being second place at the end of November. We're punching above our weight, but nothing we have achieved is a fluke. We're very good right now. No Saints fan will take this game for granted, Clough has a decent record in cup football and anything can happen in a cup tie.
CylonKing Posted 27 November, 2014 Posted 27 November, 2014 Being Saints fans, we never take any game for granted. I still expect us to lose most games, even this season. Just been bred into me over the years. Looking forward to this one, first game of the season for me - £27 for 2 tickets, single cheap train journey to one of our favourite cities. Couldn't really say no! :-)
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 27 November, 2014 Posted 27 November, 2014 I paid £27 for my return from kings cross via Retford! Bloody hell, that's so cheap.

Most of the people I know from London Saints are staying up there and we've got 39 going, certainly the hotel i'm staying in should be full of Saints fans Plenty of places for good Real Ale before the game too, which I know you will enjoy several good pubs in Kelham Island area worth visiting, and several Ale pubs I've found in town centre that open until gone midnight after the game.
Bucks Saint Posted 27 November, 2014 Posted 27 November, 2014 Bloody hell, that's so cheap. Yep, nuts, although i booked it straight away and then found that East Coast trains offer a Web discount if you buy from them online.
