Pedro Posted 28 October, 2014 Share Posted 28 October, 2014 Looking on the BBC football website there has been a Northumberland FA official suspended for commenting on a female ref that a woman's place is in the kitchen and not on a football pitch. It goes on to say that solicitor and former Blackburn Rovers player Stuart Ripley etc.etc. Really surprised that he is now a solicitor, never had him down for that but fair play to him. Jimbo Posted 28 October, 2014 Share Posted 28 October, 2014 Not as surprised as I was when our 5-a-side team played his firm, and he turned out. Couldn't shoot for ****, so some things don't change!!
sadoldgit Posted 28 October, 2014 Share Posted 28 October, 2014 One of several players we signed that were good elsewhere and pants for us.
Redslo Posted 29 October, 2014 Share Posted 29 October, 2014 Here's the link. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/29810908 Not knowing anything about Ripley, I found the stupidity of the official's conduct more interesting. I wonder if, despite the punishment, he will continue to stop women from refereeing in his league?

Joey-deacons-left-nut Posted 29 October, 2014 Share Posted 29 October, 2014 My best memory of him, was him and his Mrs having a domestic on Winchester high street in the middle of the day, balling his eyes out and whining "All I ever wanted to do was play football..." It was one of those real double take moments where I walked past and couldn't quite believe what I'd seen
