Pre-empting Southampton's December pitchforking

There was a joy to that reporting; the viciousness with which Katharina Liebherr and Ralph Krueger were portrayed always felt very personal. The profiles painted of those two were frequently inaccurate, periodically slanderous and always built from generic stereotypes

Think whoever wrote this must have spent a bit of time on Saintsweb over the summer, too

These journalists are only interested in about 5 clubs in the Prem and are the same ones that are constantly hawking our players around those clubs. It would be unrealistic to think we won't lose a single game in the next two months but that doesn't mean we should expect the meltdown that occurred in the run-up to Xmas last year under Cortese and Pochettino. If we do achieve no more than two defeats out of the next 10 games, that would be a remarkable performance that would upset a lot of those same journalists as we would still be above several of their cherished clubs.

BTW, if you google 'Daily Express Football' you get offered 5 links to football clubs:- Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City. Looks like the press have already decided their readers don't want to read about the club laying second in the table.

He obviously reads the Forum as he appears well-informed. I tried at the time of the 'slander' to get the Mods to remove certain comments. Luckily Ralph and Katharina didn't pursue the writers. With our current squad I'm not particularly concerned about Man city or the Arse.Chelsea are the best of the top four at the moment. We all need to put our iconoclastic hats on and bust the myth that we don't merit being where we are.

Onwards and Upwards.

57, I think that the slander that is mentioned was from the press, not the fans on various forums/fora. The article doesn't actually concentrate on anything but the press reports. I would love to see if what he says comes to pass. The problem is though, that the footballing world (players, managers and supporters) all realise what has happened now, and the press dismissing us the way they did/will possibly do will come across as being nothing but triteness. Do that for too long and you loose all credibility. The likes of Ashton and Durham have been doing it for so long now, that not many people take on board what they write but just see them as WUMs.

Technically it is libel as it's written not said ;)

Could you PM me the links and I will review.
