The back room Staff don't only exist at the Stadium. The Scouts continue to do magnificent job without showing their faces every week. The whole structure of SFC is worthy of accolades these days.

Congrats to Nicola who set it all up from an argumentative shambles

(in recent interview) sounded as though RK wanted to see out his contract rather than thinking about the Holland job ...again. Maybe a bit of Euro success might convince him to stay even longer.....

With Wenger as the longest-surviving Prem. manager (now reaching 65) you can wonder how other clubs will carry on when they don't have the SFC type organisation. The majority of Prem. sides ..desperate for success (which in some cases means only "survival ") sack managers after 6 bad games, and then hand his replacement a few million to squander on life-saving signings... one wonders what on earth they have for a long term plan, or if they even have one.

The original " Cortese strategy " may still be in place (in some form), but it seems a good sound structure that will outlast many clubs'... if properly maintained.

Perhaps it took some time to see our Academy really flourish, but it's a fair bet that many " so-called top clubs " are some years behind us in that area, and even those who have a properly-organised system don't seem to be able to exploit it. The appointment of Ronald Koeman shows that when we head-hunt a manager we are replacing an important cog in the machinery... and not the whole engine.

Long may it continue.
