Hello everyone,

I am flying in to London Heathrow tomorrow morning. My brother passed away suddenly; he was only 35.

I haven't landed in London in many years. I had to this time as I couldn't get a fight to an airport in the North East where my family live.

Do you have any tips/advice for getting across London from heathrow to Kings Cross so that I can get the train up to the North East and maybe save a bit of money in the mean time (our dollars don't stack up too well with your pounds).

Thanks in advance

Ottawa, condolences for the passing of your brother.

The cheapest way from HROW to KC would be to use the tube, not the Heathrow Express via Paddington

yes, as above, as long as you don't have loads of baggage, Piccadilly line from heathrow right throught to KingS X

takes about an hour

edit: sincere condolences to you

A terrible reason to have to come back to the UK.

You can catch the Piccadilly line direct from LHR to Kings Cross.

Yep, this is the cheapest and best way. Sorry to hear about your brother.

Sorry to hear that as everybody else says - that's a terrible reason to have to come to London :(

Agree Tube is the cheapest and it might be best to stick a fiver on an Oyster card as the cheapest way to do it (though there's a 5 quid deposit I think).
