brmbrm Posted 3 November, 2014 Posted 3 November, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29874435 Shiver me timbers. Clyney and Big Vic. Toby goes about his job with such calmness that I doubt he will ever get selected. "Chelsea maintained a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League after a 2-1 win over QPR in their London derby." says Garth Crooks. I'll be charitable and assume he isnt very good at counting. W anchor
pingwing Posted 3 November, 2014 Posted 3 November, 2014 How many times have saints players been picked for Garth's team of the week this season? My guess count so far is Clyne x 3, Pellè x 2, Morg x1, Wanyama x1, Mané x1 not sure who else or how many more times

W anchor This is the standard pundit comment at the moment where 2nd place, unless inhabited by an elite club, doesn't count as they won't be there at the end of the season.
TopGun Posted 3 November, 2014 Author Posted 3 November, 2014 But all Crooks has done this week is watch MOTD and decided that he'd look stupid if he didn't put Clyne and Wanyama in the team after the glowing reports from Shearer etc. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29874435
Bearsy Posted 3 November, 2014 Posted 3 November, 2014 I like the bit where he calls Roy Hodgson a pussy
Professor Posted 3 November, 2014 Posted 3 November, 2014 Hadn't realised what an important person Chubby Crooks has become. Wanyama "deserved some recognition" for his goal against Hull. What an incredible honour, to be recognised by Chubby. Big Vic will be able to tell his grandchildren about it.
Hamilton Saint Posted 3 November, 2014 Posted 3 November, 2014 If Saints have the best defensive record this season - only five goals conceded so far - why hasn't he ever featured Fonte or Alderweireld in his Team of the Week.
doddisalegend Posted 9 November, 2014 Posted 9 November, 2014 Two saints players this week:) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29980979 FORWARD - Shane Long (Southampton) The substitute should have had a hat-trick. Shane Long has always scored goals and I'm not in the least bit surprised he's doing it at Southampton. I'm not entirely sure why West Brom sold him or, come to think of it, Hull either. A must-have player for any squad. DEFENDER - Ryan Bertrand (Southampton) Ryan Bertrand was supplying some wonderful crosses for his Southampton team-mates all afternoon. The on-loan Chelsea full-back seems to have finally found a football club where the manager rates him and he can get regular first-team football. It's clear to me that Bertrand is not going to dislodge Filipe Luis, or more importantly Cesar Azpilicueta, at Chelsea so the quicker he signs permanently for Ronald Koeman at Southampton the better.
Saint IQ Posted 9 November, 2014 Posted 9 November, 2014 Anyone remember this? Classic Crooks http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2214503/Garth-Crooks-tips-James-Morrison-England.html
TopGun Posted 9 November, 2014 Author Posted 9 November, 2014 "Makeshift full back Chambers" He's so clueless yet we all pay him a whacking salary!
whelk Posted 9 November, 2014 Posted 9 November, 2014 He's so clueless yet we all pay him a whacking salary! Can't you make a Freedom of Info to see how much he is paid. Probably the one subject that I'd be willing to march for assuming it isn't £50 a show
SNSUN Posted 24 November, 2014 Posted 24 November, 2014 Not one Saints player in Crooks's team of the week FFS FFS FFS ;-)
Lorne Malvo Posted 25 November, 2014 Posted 25 November, 2014 Di Maria and Rooney in it though! Utd were non existent up front for most of the game!
TopGun Posted 19 January, 2015 Author Posted 19 January, 2015 Nobody from Saints in Mr Crooks' latest team of the week. No surprise really. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30872464
S-Clarke Posted 19 January, 2015 Posted 19 January, 2015 Lol @ Falcao being selected, I mean come on. On the same reckoning, Pelle should have been in it in the last few weeks because he had a few good chances. Ludicrous. Doesn't surprise me though, he is quite simply the most bizarre pundit there is. He never seems to have a clue about anything.
angelman Posted 19 January, 2015 Posted 19 January, 2015 Nobody from Saints in Mr Crooks' latest team of the week. No surprise really. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30872464 He's a has been from a different era and really should be put out to pasture. Hasn't played for 25 years (gave up before PL even existed) and didn't manage either. But really, who gives a **** what any pundit says. The only notice I'll take is if it comes from the players on the pitch or the management/board of SFC. All the rest is pretty meaningless.
Batman Posted 19 January, 2015 Posted 19 January, 2015 (edited) He is an utter moron. Not just saying this after his bizarre team of the week. But more so as for years he drives me to nearly smash the TV in when he speaks Edited 19 January, 2015 by Batman
Saint_Ash Posted 19 January, 2015 Posted 19 January, 2015 My favourite Garth Crooks moment: This just sums him up. The bloke is a loon.
Plonko Posted 19 January, 2015 Posted 19 January, 2015 If Falcao can be in there because of his work rate then Shane Long should be the first name on there every time he plays.
Batman Posted 19 January, 2015 Posted 19 January, 2015 This just sums him up. The bloke is a loon. What the feck is that I have just watched??!!!!
Seaside Saint 2 Posted 19 January, 2015 Posted 19 January, 2015 I miss when Carlton Palmer was on Final Score and he used to wind Crooks up all the time by (it appeared on purpose) disagreeing with every point he made. That was great TV.
