spyinthesky Posted 18 October, 2014 Share Posted 18 October, 2014 Disappointing that there were less than 30k at the game What did the missing 2,000 miss??? Sat behind a fan from Australia First time ever at St Marys. He was made up (he can come again) Also had some Dutch fans from Rotterdam near us Fair play to the Sunderland fans. Proper support Best day for me since we walloped Wolves 9-3 nearly 50 years ago. Drink talking!!
Whitey Grandad Posted 18 October, 2014 Share Posted 18 October, 2014 I couldn't see many empty seats. Dutch fans from Rotterdam = Papalotti?
Saint Charlie Posted 18 October, 2014 Share Posted 18 October, 2014 The shame IMO is that the empty seats are always very visible on TV even if there are only a few.

Saint Charlie Posted 18 October, 2014 Share Posted 18 October, 2014 Directors' seats? Chunk behind the goal next to away fans. Crap view I guess but its always there rather than up high in a corner somewhere.

Isn't that the de-militarised zone between the fans?

Even more annoying is all those that leave early, utter weirdos. Why would anyone do that?

I'd still be there now if allowed so god knows why anyone would have wanted to leave early!

I love a few post match pints, but waiting an extra 10 minutes for them isn't too much of an ask, especially after a day like that. It's not like we're talking about the one or two people nipping out early that may have a particular reason on the day to get away early, we're talking about thousands streaming out, proper stupid behaviour. It always beggars belief a handful with reasons to go but so many when there were still potential goals in the game and we still had our foot to the floor, a memorable day to see out until the end regardless. Anyway this is a dangerous subject.
Ziggy Posted 19 October, 2014 Share Posted 19 October, 2014 Well me and my boy couldn't go as it was my wife's birthday so that explains 2 empty seats. What a match to miss.
Bartosz Bialkowski Posted 19 October, 2014 Share Posted 19 October, 2014 I always leave early. Can't stand the queue to leave from row HH. if there is any empty seat lower down I sometimes grab it.
Beckenham Saint Posted 19 October, 2014 Share Posted 19 October, 2014 When I got a couple of tickets on Friday the website was showing there were still quite a few empty seats at the back of the Itchen stand, although, having been up there for the first time I can see why! Great view, but the fans were silent up around until 7-0... Didn't stop me and my uncle making as much noise as possible, although my throat is paying the price today, sounding gruffer than Tom Waits gargling stones! Remember that we were in the chock box by the east stand if I remember that was the score after 60 mins and then Paine and Sydenham hit the bar .......
