JonnyOldBoy Posted 9 March, 2015 Share Posted 9 March, 2015 They're selling off the own-brand 2014/15 shirts already, may be that means the new shirt will get an early announcement this year instead of having to wait until mid-July... The new kit may be "revealed" earlier than usual.... but the actual kit I suspect will again be late June/early July in the shops. The main advantage of signing early with Adidas is that they can get the other apparel in the shops quicker and maybe link in with some of the ( very high ) quality adidas designs currently being prepared for their "big" contracts.... the sooner the better... :-)

It could be 1st July like it has been for the past few years, but fairly sure as there's no "brand" involved, there's nothing stopping them selling adidas stuff now other than the desire to flog the old stock. I went in and bought 5 shirts and a pair of shorts on the weekend. I'd actually be pretty keen on them launching some of THIS year's adidas stock with Saints logos on so there's something to buy over the summer, then next season's 2 ranges of stuff once the season's under way and the team is wearing it. Badger Posted 9 March, 2015 Share Posted 9 March, 2015 In case anyone is wondering the sort of detailing that makes a shirt "not a teamwear kit", this is the kind of thing adidas can do if they're asked to: Great. They can make it look like luxury super soft toilet roll. The stripes are back. Perhaps it could be marketed as 'The 'wipes' are back. or, red and wipe... A whole new marketing campaign could be born out of this.

Surely if in February it was "too late" to be able to make the kit ready for August (still think it's a joke that adidas couldn't manage it but we could) then it's too soon to be able to produce adidas saints gear for the summer. scdean Posted 10 March, 2015 Share Posted 10 March, 2015 Basel This is classy. This with red and white halves would look great. Although people claim to know it will be a sash, I cant really see them going away from stripes after one season, after everyone fought so hard to get them back. any rumours floating around regarding away kit? No new training kit will appear in the shop until Adidas issue their styles as per the Bayern Munich / Chelsea designs... I can guarantee 100% that our training kit will template identically to theirs... and their contracts are HUGE and the templates are used within Europe generally for huge retail stats under various club contracts... very big sellers... No , I mean the 2015/2016 designs.... there is no real prospect of Adidas giving us 2014/2015 templates training wear..... what would be the point ? It would clutter the shop with what would soon be "old hat" and make the new ranges harder to push.... As soon as Bayern and Chelsea get their summer training kit issued, ours will be quick to follow..... but this will mean virtually nothing worth buying in the Saints job until July. Have no problem with the kits, but would be a bit surprised if both the home and away shorts are black. I know the rules aren't followed to the letter any more, but i would think we would need a change of shorts colour for some games. I would also think that the backs of the home shirts would need to be modified if we play in Europe.

Beckenham Saint Posted 12 March, 2015 Share Posted 12 March, 2015 They are, but the stoke home of a season or two ago looked exactly like that and was adidas. I know there's not a huge amount can be done with stripes but it's pretty dull. I guess it doesn't matter though. The first back to stripes shirt was always going to sell well, and now the back to a proper kit manufacturer one will. I like the away shirt though. In fact I've liked our away kits better than home for a few years now. I thought this straight away when I saw it, looks exactly like one of Stokes shirts from a couple years ago. doggface Posted 12 March, 2015 Share Posted 12 March, 2015 I thought this straight away when I saw it, looks exactly like one of Stokes shirts from a couple years ago. The template looks very similar (but not exact) if you mean literally. The colours are reversed for a start, we normally have a centre red stripe and they normally have white. The design above is all red sleeves and tapered in towards the midriff. FYI if this "leak" is not a red herring, It would really tie in with our aims to improve the woeful commercial side of our club. Tottenham have a 4 year partnership deal with my MLS club TFC. I know that Ralph has been to a game and been in dialogue with TFC about commercial opportunities. http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2014/04/toronto-host-tottenham-friendly A deal with an MLS club would kind of be a logical step, could this be a hint of a partnership with The Sounders? The9 Posted 13 March, 2015 Author Share Posted 13 March, 2015 Well, we can close this thread now, designs leaked and nothing else to discuss. FWIW they look completely legit, I like them, I have no idea why people are moaning that a red and white striped Adidas kit looks like another red and white striped Adidas kit, of course it does, a bit, but it isn't exactly the same... Away kit is different, bound to have alternate green shorts too. North American company in green and navy ehhh? Xbox seems too obvious and the shirt too dark. It is available now as I said, and being used in other leagues now. http://www.teamsportdirect.co.uk/categories/Adidas/Adidas-Training-Range-2015/Adidas-Tiro-15-Training The Euro giants just get their pick of colour schemes and small detailing from the same Tiro 15 range. They also get a separate champions league range using different templates for the euro weeks. Edited 13 March, 2015 by doggface
