2 home games in a row, has to be 4 points at least. Stoke will be a tough game, they can beat anyone on the day (win away at city)...firstly, we will get a result against sunderland (finally)

Throw in the Cup game at stoke

Followed by games against Hull, Leicester and Villa. Get some good points on the board and will set us up nicely for the run of tough games..

Those games come about the same sort of time last season where we fell away and injuries hit us hard.

Just need a bit of luck on that front with Jrod back with minutes under his belt before Mane goes to the ACON.

Sooner or later though, we are going to lose at home...probably to one of those teams listed above....

hopefully, we can get circa 10 points and a cup win....

They're all big periods really, I can't really put more importance on one than any other because we're not going down and we're not going to achieve anything better than we did last season. That doesn't stop us trying to be the best we can but it's hard to get too excited when it doesn't feel like a massive amount will be achieved.

No! Hull, Leicester, Villa and Stoke is our big period! Batman has spoken!?!?!?!?!

Screw December and January, that is an irrelevance compared to the above run of tough, season defining games. - Season defining if you're worried about relegation that is.

I agree with you, completely unjustified sarcasm for that guy whoever he is.

I guess it'll be business as usual for the next two games. Boring defensive football from the visitors and our inability to break them down and make anything of it. We could draw / lose both if we're not careful. As a spectacle let's hope there are one or two low flying jets landing at Eastleigh to liven things up a bit.

Yep, big period.

ACON won't happen with Ebola breakout, so we'll have Mane there still.

good shout that.

Has there been anything reported on this front?

The hosts (Morocco) want it cancelled.

Nothing confirmed either way yet, as far as I can tell. Granted I've done a v quick skim through google so may have missed other stuff.

Completely stupid reply. Agree with Batman, the next few games are very important to define our season. Nothing to do with relegation, which batman didn't mention. Knob.

Would you prefer me to believe we can sustain this form and league position over the course of the season? Analyse our upcoming fixtures to understand what we'll need to do to remain in the Top 4? Last season I dared to dream because of the performance and potential of the team, and then the summer happened. So I'll not bother this time around and just be content that given the personnel turnover of the summer anything around mid-table is very good in the circumstances but nonetheless not something I am going to be particularly excited about.

Quite, it says something if we have to get excited/worried about Sunderland and Hull... How many big periods are we going to have this season.

A couple of the responses in this thread are just pointless, there's no need for them. Stop trying to WUM people.

I agree with Batman's post, I'm not sure why people can't see the point he's making? Are they dim or something? Basically, prior to our hell December run - we've got a run of matches which we can try and pick-up a decent amount of points in, which will at least allow us to be comfortable and not looking over our shoulder a great deal! Hell, we may even win them all!

Plenty to look forward to.

The point Batman is making is a fair one and obvious to most of us. The cretins having a pop are no more than a couple of wet fart's and I have no doubt that they would run home crying to their parents if Batman even raised his voice to them.

Read it properly. I don't recall Batman saying that we had to get excited/worried about the forthcoming fixtures, merely that they would place us in a good position for the run of harder fixtures that followed them. It also seems to have escaped your attention that Batman was merely echoing the sentiments of Nick Illingworth's article in The Ugly Inside, so why don't you have a go at him instead?

Lallana's Left Peg:-They're all big periods really, I can't really put more importance on one than any other because we're not going down and we're not going to achieve anything better than we did last season.

Why aren't we? We fell short of the higher finish last season because of two or three crucial injuries and we have more depth of cover this season, so might well finish higher. Despite the turmoil over the Summer, most now accept that we have a better team and a better manager than we had last season. I couldn't care less if some have expectations of a mid-table finish, as that is their opinion. However, it is a bit sad that some are not excited by the prospects of improving on last season's finish, which begins to look increasingly tangible.

I said nothing of the sort. I was merely surprised you took the time post to say that you found it hard to get excited this season. Messrs Clarke and Tender have done a better job than me of explaining it for you.

We will need to get as many points as possible to cushion us against the likely run of a few maulings in December and January. The closer we get to the 40 point mark the more we can feel confident about staying up.

Less than 6 points and we will be in a relegation scrap come Febraury.
