Accommodation for 6 in Paris. Any recommendations?

As it says in the title can anyone recommend accommodation in central Paris for 6 people?

 

If not central Paris somewhere close by that we can train in from.

 

Looking at 3/4 days around 10th/11th April.

Hotel du Nord is quite good but expensive, right by the Gard du Nord train station, Easy for Eurostar

Forget Hotels - for that amount of people I'd recommend http://www.airbnb.co.uk I use them for work trips and holidays in Europe and the US, good for large groups when renting a whole Apartment/ Villa/ House. Amazing value, especially in large Capital Cities like NYC, Paris, Rome & London, the Mayor of New York is trying to get it either shut down or levied with tax such is the effect it's having on the City's Hotel trade (and subsequent Tax revenues).

 

Must say though I've never been to Paris, if you know the area you want to stay in the map feature is pretty cool. Their App is brilliant too btw.

I did Airbnb in Paris with my gf this summer. Highly recommend it. We got a great little apartment nr the Pompidou centre - fantastic location, way cheaper than hotels round there and got our own kitchen / fridge / washer etc to use for the 4 days we were there.

Airbnb is fantastic, so much better value for money than hotel websites and you tend to get far better locations for your money too.

Be careful with airbnb as it's a peer to peer advertising site, meaning anyone can go on and list a flat or home. There are other sites that offer a little more protection like homeaway, roomorama and OneFineStay. Check out the link below before you book on airbnb:

That's like saying beware of eBay, check out Amazon instead... If you are an eBay user then you should be buyer beware and internet savvy, apply the same rules to airbnb and you will save a fortune.

 

Airbnb is a recommendation site, you can see the rooms / apartments that have had previous bookings, comprehensive ratings, loads of pictures and you can speak direct with the owner. It's massive in the States and is growing in Europe.

 

The protection other sites offer is only relevant at the start of the listing and is as open to abuse as any other online purchase. Airbnb also holds the money which is released to the property owner near the end of the customers stay.

 

PLUS - verification of ownership is taken before a listing is completed - driving licence and passport images uploaded to their database.
