Dellman Posted 10 October, 2014 Share Posted 10 October, 2014 Shilton Golac, Dennis, Watson,Jordan Le Tiissier, Ball, Bale, Danny Wallace Channon, Lambert Wot no Terry? It's a surprise to me that Ron Davies is seldom the fans choice, at the time he was our world class player but with hindsight I reckon it was Terry that made him great
Roger Posted 10 October, 2014 Share Posted 10 October, 2014 I just can't believe people leaving mark wright out . He was the best centre back we ever had. Had everything.
The Kraken Posted 11 October, 2014 Share Posted 11 October, 2014 I just can't believe people leaving mark wright out . He was the best centre back we ever had. Had everything. Perhaps you should try reading the point of the thread then Roger. It's got nothing to do with the best Saints XI, just people's favourite XI. Here's the extract from the OP, as you clearly missed it. Doesn't have to be the best XI in history, just players that you particularly like"

It all came together when Ron was signed. A masterstroke by Ted Bates.

Colinjb Posted 11 October, 2014 Share Posted 11 October, 2014 Couple of left field suggestions there!! It was about favourites rather then best. So yep, a bit left field. Always admired Telfer for his professionalism, felt he was an unfair scapegoat. As for Camara, he gave me hope in that dreadful season, his thunderf**k of a strike up at St Andrews where he almost single handedly earnt us a point from nothing is something I will always remember fondly.
