St.JonB Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 So proud to be English tonight - no easy games in international football and Rooney edging closer to becoming our greatest ever forward....
SNSUN Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 So proud to be English tonight - no easy games in international football and Rooney edging closer to becoming our greatest ever forward.... Magnificent oerformance tonight from Cahill too. A worthy clean sheet for England
Batman Posted 9 October, 2014 Author Posted 9 October, 2014 Magnificent oerformance tonight from Cahill too. A worthy clean sheet for England sad thing, roy could have picked another keeper, and a couple of other new players (clyne, shelvey) but no, he goes for the same old same old
Batman Posted 9 October, 2014 Author Posted 9 October, 2014 I think rooney has been trying to get all 10 goals he needs, tonight...
Saint Charlie Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Lallana probably our best player. Just imagine what Tadic would have done tonight!
broken spoke Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Milner should be shot at Dawn or taken to he Vets to be put down.
Sour Mash Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 sad thing, roy could have picked another keeper, and a couple of other new players (clyne, shelvey) but no, he goes for the same old same old Exactly. I really just don't get Hodgson's approach tonight.
Batman Posted 9 October, 2014 Author Posted 9 October, 2014 MoM against san marino is hardly anything to worry about
nta786 Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 What ever the score is, it will flatter us. Can't understand why Wilshere gets picked ahead of Lallana. Man of the match mate lool.
broken spoke Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Lambert should have won Man of the Match.... as the ones on the pitch have been really dreadful... it's all Woy's fault. Germany beat them 13-0 a few months ago... we can only manage 2-0 and 5-0
broken spoke Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Woy's a dead man walking.... it's just the FA don't realise it yet.

Germany beat them 13-0 a few months ago... we can only manage 2-0 and 5-0 spain lost 2-1 too. imagine the outrage if england lost to slovakia! having said that, if england had done half of what spain did in the last 6 years, it wouldve been great.
Toomer Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 On that performance by Chambers Clyne has got to start Sunday.
broken spoke Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 (edited) On that performance by Chambers Clyne has got to start Sunday. i agree, but it won't happen.... Edited 9 October, 2014 by broken spoke
DuncanRG Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 People are actually upset that Hodgson didn't play Clyne against San Marino? Would you guys have felt the same if Chambers still played for us?
lifeintheslowlane Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 I thought San Marino went to pieces after their only full-time professional was substituted in the 85 minute. He made it very difficult for England...what happens if they get another full-time professional.
angelman Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Man of the match mate lool. Aye, I thought to myself when Irish Andy named him, "what do I know?"!
broken spoke Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 one of the few honest players tonight was welbeck.... even i'm not a fan of him. Rooney played bad, it was like watching the chuckle brothers... and he needs another hair transplant, for 40K
Batman Posted 9 October, 2014 Author Posted 9 October, 2014 Darren Lewis having a pop at Roy on talksport Saying so many fans will feel like that was 2 hours of their lives, wasted. Such a hodgson, workman like performance also, saying that he is stunned Clyne missed out for chambers and said CC would not have played if he did not sign for arsenal

broken spoke Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Hodgson saying the fans will go home happy having watched a good attacking performance.... Stop the world... i didn't see that on my TV screen... he must have watching a different game.
Batman Posted 9 October, 2014 Author Posted 9 October, 2014 Excellent!! Who's Darren Lewis? Daily mirror sports journo and arsenal fan
maysie Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Daily mirror sports journo and arsenal fan Cheers, not in the know on my sports journos. Thought it might just be some random caller. :-)
broken spoke Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Woy is a dead man walking..... it's a pity he has been given 25 miles to the finish line...
Goatboy Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Andy Townsend picks Glass Jack as Man of the Match. I haven't got enough f*cks to even comment on that.
S-Clarke Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Backwards, Sideways, backwards, sideways, Wiltshire, foul, backwards, sideways, Rooney, wayward shot. Backwards, sideways, backwards, wilshire, fall over, backwards, sideways.

Backwards, sideways, backwards, wilshire, fall over, backwards, sideways. How come the swear filter hasn't put in the stars? Mine looks like this: Backwards, *** Sideways, *****backwards, sideways, Wiltshire, you ******* **** **** foul, backwards, sideways, Rooney, ****wayward shot. Backwards, sideways, *** backwards, wilshire,******* ***** fall over, backwards, sideways
Under Weststand Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Well that was horrendous, Miller was simply awful. Chambers hardly put a foot right tonight & Gibbs did little going forward either. As for Wilshire mom just sums up Andy Townsend complete muppet! The only thing Woy got right tonight was Lallana & OXO at half time. And if he thinks fans have gone home happy after that sh*te then he is a bigger fool than I take him for.

Batman Posted 9 October, 2014 Author Posted 9 October, 2014 Jesus, Roy's management speak is horrendous
Dalek2003 Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Who cares anyway ? As long as we survive in the Premier League.
ART Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Hodgson well and truly screwed Nathaniel Clyne by playing Chambers tonight. If it had been me I'd have packed my things and told Hodgson where to go. To think 50,000 naive idiots turned up to watch such a load of crap.
tajjuk Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Big club favouritism right there, Chambers been on the bench for Arsenal, wasn't in the original squad but starts over Clyne who is playing regularly (and better) and was a first pick in the squad.
Sour Mash Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Darren Lewis having a pop at Roy on talksport Saying so many fans will feel like that was 2 hours of their lives, wasted. Such a hodgson, workman like performance also, saying that he is stunned Clyne missed out for chambers and said CC would not have played if he did not sign for arsenal The thing is, Hodgson knows he's got a guaranteed job until after the Euros, he can do what he wants, there are no other options for anyone coming in place of him.
angelman Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Wonder why Clyne was even picked for the squad. Anyway, http://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2014/10/england-5-san-marino-0-player-ratings-as-arsenal-stars-impress/ Calum Chambers Chosen over Nathaniel Clyne despite his late arrival to the squad, Chambers was hugely disappointing. Lucky not to be booked, poor going forwards and lousy in possession. 4
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 October, 2014 Posted 9 October, 2014 Jack Wilshire man of the match.... Which match? Not this one, surely.
simo Posted 10 October, 2014 Posted 10 October, 2014 Even though we had 3 academy products playing for England last night I took hardly any pride in it due to Clyne not playing!
Lorne Malvo Posted 10 October, 2014 Posted 10 October, 2014 Wasn't that bad a performance, 77% possession, over 30 shots as you would expect. Goal wrongly disallowed, Rooney should of added two more and one off the line, their keeper pulled off some good saves too (better than Gazzinga?). Pretty much what was expected.

Yes of course the stats say we bossed the game and won comfortably. But all the commentators were lamenting the unimaginative play, wrong formation, lack of width, predictable approach and sheer dearth of creative spark against the world's joint worst team

He just rambles on about the past. I thought 2nd half we mixed it up well, the 1st half was quite sterile you are right.
rooney Posted 10 October, 2014 Posted 10 October, 2014 The game was crying out for Clyne to come on and get down the wing behind the defenders, in order to cross the ball. I cannot recall Chambers doing this once. A missed oportunity for Wroy I am afraid.
