toe_punt Posted 2 October, 2014 Posted 2 October, 2014 It's not the same pulling on that Man U Physio shirt as somewhere like Southampton. I heard that he'd been dreaming of physio-ing for ManU since the middle of last year, "I wonder what it would be like to walk into the atmosphere of that treatment room". We'll probably hear that he was tapped up by Luke Shaw prior to his move. I hope we can survive this calamity.
rooney Posted 2 October, 2014 Posted 2 October, 2014 Access to Rooney's hairdresser was the clincher.
Ohio Saint Posted 2 October, 2014 Posted 2 October, 2014 dont we have an 18 year old physio at the academy ready to step in?
O_RLY Posted 2 October, 2014 Posted 2 October, 2014 He is quoted as saying that is head was already at Man Utd and when Saints played at Old Trafford last season he dreamed on running on with the magic sponge and wetting Rooneys upper thigh.:lol::lol::lol:
VectisSaint Posted 2 October, 2014 Posted 2 October, 2014 bigadamsport9:45am via Twitter for iPhone#saintsfc Radcliffe has not been 'stolen' by #mufcas some would have you think - his family are up north, he's from there & job came up You mean he comes from Manchester and wants to work for Man Utd. Usually only Londoners are that way inclined. I would have thought his head would have been at the Etihad if he's a Manc.
Kevtherev Posted 2 October, 2014 Posted 2 October, 2014 I would think JR would be over the worse/most crucial stages now. Physio has left, meh plenty more out there. Lets sign a Physio who can manage as well......... No strike that did and we sacked him !
Redslo Posted 3 October, 2014 Posted 3 October, 2014 Whats Radcliffes stats on FM? His physio stat in FM 2014 is a 20, the maximum. His CA is 140 and his PA is 145. None of are remaining physios are considered to be particularly good by FM. I normally fire them all and hire new ones when managing Southampton in FM. Of course, my FM physios are not real people--unlike Southampton's physios and my FM players who are.
Viking Warrior Posted 3 October, 2014 Posted 3 October, 2014 As the conversation is about physios today 12 weeks after may two major ops on my shoulder he actual physically examined my shoulder . Had he done it 4 weeks ago he would have detected the post op problems I was experiencing . Back to saints I hope we get at least 1m in transfer fees for him
itchen_dan Posted 3 October, 2014 Posted 3 October, 2014 He begin his new role at @ManUtd on the 13th October - "Injury Prevention Specialist (?!)" http://www.espnfc.com/manchester-united/story/2069161/manchester-united-sign-matt-radcliffe-southampton-physio Some great quotes in there. No hard feelings, best of luck Matt.
Andy Durman Posted 3 October, 2014 Posted 3 October, 2014 This is a real shame, but I'm sure he is replaceable and we already have a system in place
cellone Posted 3 October, 2014 Posted 3 October, 2014 Well I think it's an outrage. I'm half what a splitter, and half disappointed in the board. I've had enough of people being able to improve and further improve their future with Saints. We're starting to get a name. We seem to attract the kind of talented and skilled people that have ambition. Also Pancake said someone's injured.
Lazlo78 Posted 3 October, 2014 Posted 3 October, 2014 Is the woman on our bench a physio? Frances Hunter aka Frankie Hunter: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/frankie-hunter/52/155/972

No hard feelings, best of luck Matt. Seems very undramatic with a physio eyeing a great job opportunity that takes him close to his family. Still, he shows how easy it is to show your current employer a little respect and wish them the best of luck. He'll get plenty of chances to praise his new employer so nice of him to sign off on a respectful note...
Pedro Posted 4 October, 2014 Posted 4 October, 2014 Thanks Lazio, she certainly has some skills and qualifications, for those of us who only go to St.Mary's it looks like she is only there to set the cones out and give out the drinks. Good to have her with us.
Saint Charlie Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Steve Wright is his replacement. https://uk.linkedin.com/pub/steve-wright/2a/484/642
doggface Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Was thinking today that we have had a TON of injuries since his departure.
Grigsy Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Was thinking today that we have had a TON of injuries since his departure. Lots of muscle injuries too. The kind we rarely got before. Probably a result of players never really being rested in Cups too.
VectisSaint Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Steve Wright is his replacement. https://uk.linkedin.com/pub/steve-wright/2a/484/642 Part-time I suppose, just in the afternoon.
ThreeSixty Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Was thinking today that we have had a TON of injuries since his departure. Yet united have been so injury free.
SuperSAINT Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Frances Hunter aka Frankie Hunter: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/frankie-hunter/52/155/972 Looks like she's at Hull City now.
Saint_clark Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Yet united have been so injury free. Recently, yes...only Ashley Young injured at the moment I believe. Starting to have an effect perhaps?
doggface Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Recently, yes...only Ashley Young injured at the moment I believe. Starting to have an effect perhaps? Correct. Not saying it is directly related, but there is a possibility.
ericofarabia Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Recently, yes...only Ashley Young injured at the moment I believe. Starting to have an effect perhaps? Is he The Messiah FFS? Re our injuries, hopefully just a coincidence aided and abetted by more games played, colder weather, harder pitches etc etc. Less injuries at Man U coz they've been on the treatment table instead of running arond on a football pitch!!
cellone Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Was thinking today that we have had a TON of injuries since his departure. Compared with none when he was here.
Maggie May Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Part-time I suppose, just in the afternoon. V good.
SuperSAINT Posted 17 June, 2015 Posted 17 June, 2015 Is leaving Utd after 8 months. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/injury-jinxed-manchester-uniteds-injury-prevention-5901758?
Colinjb Posted 17 June, 2015 Posted 17 June, 2015 A lot of Manchester United's off field weaknesses have come to the fore since Fergie's departure. Perhaps, just perhaps he walked into something utterly lacking compared to his previous experience and unwilling to change to suit his recommendations.
Saint_clark Posted 17 June, 2015 Posted 17 June, 2015 Yet another example of grass not being greener. I await Paul Mitchell being sacked midway through next season when Spurs signings have flopped.
Bucks Saint Posted 20 June, 2015 Posted 20 June, 2015 Moved too young; had time on his side but needed to stay where he was doing well for at least a couple more seasons. Not ready for such a move
Matthew Le God Posted 20 June, 2015 Posted 20 June, 2015 Yet another example of grass not being greener. We don't know why he left yet. It could be for reasons completely unrelated to football.
Heisenberg Posted 20 June, 2015 Posted 20 June, 2015 We don't know why he left yet. It could be for reasons completely unrelated to football. Take a quick look at the United Forum abd you will see why he left

I enjoyed this post particularly: "Can't fathom why this is such a big deal. Seen a few papers running with the story like its the manager who's mysteriously left. We'd still get injuries if we played our home games at Lourdes and mother Theresa was our physio." Certainly relying on spring water and a dead nun would do nothing to keep down injuries.
krissyboy31 Posted 20 June, 2015 Posted 20 June, 2015 http://www.redcafe.net/threads/injury-prevention-specialist-matt-radcliffe-gone-after-8-months.405767/ I've read this and they don't know and I don't know why he has left... I see Phil Jones being quoted as the major injury candidate. The poor bloke is a fitness and injury specialist, not the Messiah.
