kermitsaint Posted 29 September, 2014 Share Posted 29 September, 2014 Last season before everything went tits up we were excited to see what Cortese , Pochettino and the team could achieve this season . We had a powerful skilled team which needed a new CB , a back up keeper and a decent reliable striker . If you had to choose would you prefer our current set up or last years team with a few notable additions with Cortese and a motivated Poch managing us ? I for one would have loved to have seen how far our squad could have gone if the wheels hadnt fallen off . Europa League was achievable in my opinion . Thoughts ? Redslo Posted 29 September, 2014 Share Posted 29 September, 2014 Too soon to tell on the field. I prefer the current off the field set up with Southampton history acknowledged. And this is from a fan of four year's standing only. I base this opinion on the difference between the 1979 San Francisco 49ers and the 1978 San Francisco 49ers. Wes Tender Posted 29 September, 2014 Share Posted 29 September, 2014 I much prefer having players who want to be here, a board and owner that engages with the past and our fans, and a manager who has a less remote, more open and warm manner. sammysaint Posted 29 September, 2014 Share Posted 29 September, 2014 Koeman is a better manager, we never could of made Europe with the previous squad and additional players because of FFP, we would of had to keep the same squad and sign maybe 2 players or 3 if we get a good loan deal. This squad and situation we are in means we can finish top 6 and be able to play in Europe with enough money in the bank to keep the progression going.
