redder freak Posted 28 September, 2014 Posted 28 September, 2014 Last season Manure scored a goal against us with Rooney marginally offside and the pundits thought it was great goal. If Mane keeps playing the margins he'll get a call his way eventually.
farawaysaint Posted 28 September, 2014 Posted 28 September, 2014 Just rewatched the game in much better quality. I thought Mane had a stunner.
Mouldy Coat Posted 28 September, 2014 Posted 28 September, 2014 (edited) I don't think he'll ever entirely cut out the offsides, part and parcel of that approach always trying to gain that yard off the back of a defender's shoulder. Looks a good player though and definitley offers us something different. If you look at Pelle, Tadic and Mane, for each one it's clear what they're in the team to provide, very different players that each offer something. he just needs to arch his runs a bit that's all. No need to be offside if you have the beating of them for pace Edited 28 September, 2014 by Mouldy Coat

Bucks Saint Posted 29 September, 2014 Posted 29 September, 2014 For a first home appearance, in a new country, not knowing a soul, it was a fantastic and very exciting effort. This. Already saw an improvement from watching him against QPR versus Tues night, but clearly there could be a lot more still to come when he and the team get to know each much better. Exciting times!
alpine_saint Posted 29 September, 2014 Posted 29 September, 2014 Been inundated since the Arsenal game with Austrians who know I support Saints, wanting to talk about him. They clearly feel he is a major loss to the Bundesliga.
david in sweden Posted 29 September, 2014 Posted 29 September, 2014 I think this guy is going to be mustard for us. The back-heel assist was sublime. Don't think I've seen him crack a smile yet though! .....just wait until he scores his first goal and see what he does for a goal celebration .......
david in sweden Posted 29 September, 2014 Posted 29 September, 2014 He was offside every time, sometimes well offside. Before you berate the assistant on the line I recommend that you take the time to learn the offside law and its implementation. There is no such thing as 'benefit of the doubt' and 'any part of a player’s head, body or feet' is sufficient to be offside. If you don't like it, take it up with FIFA. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/worldfootball/clubfootball/01/37/04/27/interpretation%5flaw11%5fen.pdf[/quote I think your meaning is clear Whitey, ..... if the ref. isn't sure, or didn't see it clearly.... he still has to respond and make a split-second deicsion .....and has a 50% chance of being right ( or wrong ) ....]
Coldridge Posted 30 September, 2014 Posted 30 September, 2014 ABBA anyone? Mane, Mane Mane, he's so runny, in Ron Koeman's Saints? No, how about 'Money' by Pink Floyd? Mane, get back Stay onside and wait for the counter attack. Ron Vlaar, Graham Carr, going down the pub, think I'll support Saints football club.
Goatboy Posted 30 September, 2014 Posted 30 September, 2014 Mane's too good to mention...ah Mane, Mane, Mane. Simply Red and white.
Pierre Posted 30 September, 2014 Posted 30 September, 2014 Surely nothing can top: All we hear is Sadio Mané, Sadio Mané
Benali Saint Posted 30 September, 2014 Posted 30 September, 2014 Love watching his back heel for Bertrands goal. Quality
austsaint Posted 30 September, 2014 Posted 30 September, 2014 I thought he was exceptional. The quality I didn't know he had in his kit bag is his touch and distribution; even under pressure.
