sadoldgit Posted 19 September, 2014 Posted 19 September, 2014 10 quid for a bowl of noodles and if you are lucky you might find the odd bit of chicken or prawn hiding under a spring onion. What is that all about? Marketing genius or gulliible customers?
Batman Posted 19 September, 2014 Posted 19 September, 2014 I went, had a bowl of mush that was disgusting
sadoldgit Posted 19 September, 2014 Author Posted 19 September, 2014 My kids love it unfortunately and it costs me a fortune every visit. Mind you, the chilli squid is to die for!
Jonnyboy Posted 19 September, 2014 Posted 19 September, 2014 Sounds like an ageing footballers ageing girlfriend/wife.
so22saint Posted 20 September, 2014 Posted 20 September, 2014 chilli squid is lovely, and the firecracker prawn is unusually warm for a chain. I've never eaten anything else there so can't comment
Hamilton Saint Posted 20 September, 2014 Posted 20 September, 2014 And now we can celebrate Wagamama's first goal for the club.
Minty Posted 20 September, 2014 Posted 20 September, 2014 If you want decent Japanese food, go to Kyoto Kitchen in Winchester.

What is that all about? Marketing genius or gulliible customers? I think I first went to one in about 1998 or so - was good then, something really different. But since they've expanded, they seemed to have got that bland chain food taste - never bother anymore.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 20 September, 2014 Posted 20 September, 2014 Wangamama means selfish is Japanese. Selling cheap Japanese food that anyone can make for rip off prices means they live up to the name. Then let's pretend that everyone in Japan eats on a bench sharing it with a stranger. Absolute bull****. Would never eat there.
Goatboy Posted 20 September, 2014 Posted 20 September, 2014 I thought it was a new type of enema. New type?
Doctoroncall Posted 21 September, 2014 Posted 21 September, 2014 I think I first went to one in about 1998 or so - was good then, something really different. But since they've expanded, they seemed to have got that bland chain food taste - never bother anymore. I have to agree, the same thing happened to me! Great food first time but then about four years back, it lost its flavour.
Joey-deacons-left-nut Posted 22 September, 2014 Posted 22 September, 2014 All I'm saying is Katsu Curry and Sticky rice. Stuff of the gods!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ben05 Posted 22 September, 2014 Posted 22 September, 2014 Another vote for the katsu curry. To die for
Big Bad Bob Posted 22 September, 2014 Posted 22 September, 2014 Wok to Go, Westover Road, Bournemouth.....
sadoldgit Posted 22 September, 2014 Author Posted 22 September, 2014 Another vote for the katsu curry. To die for At least you get some meat with that. I have had several pad-thais where the chicken and prawns have gone awol. I complained last time and to be fair they refunded the cost of the dish. They have ditched the grilled tuna and lobster salad so that another two favourites gone.
Deano6 Posted 22 September, 2014 Posted 22 September, 2014 If you want decent Japanese food, go to Kyoto Kitchen in Winchester. Do I have to? It'd be quicker for me to get to Japan!
JxgrSaint Posted 26 September, 2014 Posted 26 September, 2014 Wagamamas isn't bad, can be a bit hiss and miss as with any chain though. I have the Chicken Katsu Curry or Firecracker Chicken usually, but still much prefer Chicken Katsu Donburi at Nobu Old Park Lane or the Chicken Anti-Cucho at Nobu Berkeley Street, it's only a tenner more as well...
