Saint137 Posted 19 September, 2014 Share Posted 19 September, 2014 Anyone else have trouble signing up for one of these? Reckons I'm not authorised even though I'm an ST holder and got the invite email.
Alain Perrin Posted 19 September, 2014 Share Posted 19 September, 2014 Worked for me. not sure I'll use it tbh but worth a try. I've NFC on my cards already so an extra step of loading cash seems a bit of a pain.

Saint137 Posted 19 September, 2014 Author Share Posted 19 September, 2014 Emailed support, should work now. Site was struggling under high demand. Anything that gets me a pie/pint quicker has to be good although I guess those dedicated service counters will take any contactless payment option. angelman Posted 19 September, 2014 Share Posted 19 September, 2014 Got rid of all Barclay's products some time ago, so not interested in this in the slightest.
Saint_clark Posted 20 September, 2014 Share Posted 20 September, 2014 This sounds awesome. Getting towards the kind of technology now that you used to see in sci-fi movies. Paying for things using a band on your wrist...how long before you can get a micro chip fitted under your skin.
September Saint Posted 20 September, 2014 Share Posted 20 September, 2014 Is this the same Barclays that called in an agreed overdraft to SFC and pushed us into administration? Or have I got my facts wrong?
Golden Balls Posted 20 September, 2014 Share Posted 20 September, 2014 Is this the same Barclays that called in an agreed overdraft to SFC and pushed us into administration? Saint Fan CaM Posted 20 September, 2014 Share Posted 20 September, 2014 So basically if the band gets lost anyone can use it? OK so perhaps the risk is low, but I have to say...wtf is the point? Nice for metrosexual types I guess.

Nice for metrosexual types I guess. As said above, you can get it blocked - but also you have to top it up with a balance anyway so there's only a certain amount anyone can use with it. That probably sounds like a lot of hassle, but there's also an auto-top up feature you can use if it ever falls below £20. Besides, it's on your wrist...it's going to be hard to fall off and if it did you'd notice it.

It's just a mechanism to replace cash - imagine how quick it'd be paying at a bar with no cash, no cards (unless they're contactless as well)! Barclaycards are all contactless, I haven't used the feature myself yet. Barclays certainly seem to be ahead of everyone else when it comes to using technology in banking. TwoPints Posted 20 September, 2014 Share Posted 20 September, 2014 Just ordered mine. Does this mean that the Qjacker thing isn't happening now or is this something different?
September Saint Posted 20 September, 2014 Share Posted 20 September, 2014 Yeah, no other banks call in debts. No other bank sponsor/sponsored the PL? No other bank makes a big deal about being "football friendly"? No other bank is making a big deal at SFC about "contactless payments" Just ask your bank and they'll send a contactless replacement card. All banks will screw their customers but I'll take offence when they affect me directly.

whelk Posted 23 September, 2014 Share Posted 23 September, 2014 I'm disappointed they haven't come up with a chip that can be inserted under the skin to do the same. Far more convenient.
