Emailed support, should work now. Site was struggling under high demand. Anything that gets me a pie/pint quicker has to be good although I guess those dedicated service counters will take any contactless payment option.

This sounds awesome. Getting towards the kind of technology now that you used to see in sci-fi movies. Paying for things using a band on your wrist...how long before you can get a micro chip fitted under your skin. ;)

So basically if the band gets lost anyone can use it? OK so perhaps the risk is low, but I have to say...wtf is the point? Nice for metrosexual types I guess.

If you lose your wallet and it's full of cash ... ?

(you can block your bPay account)

As said above, you can get it blocked - but also you have to top it up with a balance anyway so there's only a certain amount anyone can use with it. That probably sounds like a lot of hassle, but there's also an auto-top up feature you can use if it ever falls below £20.

Besides, it's on your wrist...it's going to be hard to fall off and if it did you'd notice it.

It's just a mechanism to replace cash - imagine how quick it'd be paying at a bar with no cash, no cards (unless they're contactless as well)!

Barclaycards are all contactless, I haven't used the feature myself yet. Barclays certainly seem to be ahead of everyone else when it comes to using technology in banking.

Yeah, no other banks call in debts.

No other bank sponsor/sponsored the PL?

No other bank makes a big deal about being "football friendly"?

No other bank is making a big deal at SFC about "contactless payments" Just ask your bank and they'll send a contactless replacement card.

All banks will screw their customers but I'll take offence when they affect me directly.

I assume you don't use cash ever, like some of us Metrosexuals?

Just ordered mine. Does this mean that the Qjacker thing isn't happening now or is this something different?

It's a method of paying, not a method of pre-ordering.

I'm disappointed they haven't come up with a chip that can be inserted under the skin to do the same. Far more convenient.

That's on it's way - have already seen another company demoing something along those lines.

Plenty of other banks don't have contactless payment cards as default yet.
