doddisalegend Posted 15 September, 2014 Share Posted 15 September, 2014 Starting..........on the bench for hull tonight. Hopefully he'll get some match time. team news from the BBC Abel Hernandez and Mohamed Diame making their debuts for Hull City. Fellow new signings Hatem Ben Arfa and Gaston Ramirez are on the bench. Beckenham Saint Posted 15 September, 2014 Share Posted 15 September, 2014 BBC claimed that he was lacking match fitness in their match build up, and Sky said he was ready to make his début in theirs! Watching the game tonight to see if (and how) he gets on. Think he will link up well with Hernandez (purely as they play together for Uruguay). Must be odd playing West Ham twice in a row for him! Wonder if Alex Song is pleased he swapped Barcelona for Hull on a Monday night...
Bearsy Posted 15 September, 2014 Share Posted 15 September, 2014 I was thinking bout Gaston on saturday, i was thinking that he don't naturally fit into koeman's 4-3-3 system, which is prob why he got shipped out. This is what i was thinking on sat, about gaston.

Saint-scooby Posted 15 September, 2014 Share Posted 15 September, 2014 looks like he is one of the £100 million pound bench warmers we sold in the summer (except lovren )

Not sure what his thoughts on Gaston are at all. the other thing i was thinking on saturday, when we made 41 passes i was thinking that the only way newcastle could do that is if they let Pardew sit with the player's wives. This is the other thing i was thinking on sat, about pardew and making passes.

Beckenham Saint Posted 15 September, 2014 Share Posted 15 September, 2014 S-Clarke to the board please, can you give me an update on how there is nothing about Hernandez that suggests he will be any good? Has shown a few nice flicks so far, good workrate to win the ball back a few times and has scored! Good header, terrible celebration...
Dig Dig Posted 15 September, 2014 Share Posted 15 September, 2014 I wonder how many little knocks Gaston picks up whilst at Hull. He always seemed to pick up something just when there was an opportunity for him to get a run of games.

Beckenham Saint Posted 15 September, 2014 Share Posted 15 September, 2014 he looks very good to be fair Said when they signed him he was a good addition, don't know why people (Steve Bruce!?) said he was a gamble, he's clearly a very good player! Their left back looks a very, very good player too! Reminding me of Shaw...

Beckenham Saint Posted 15 September, 2014 Share Posted 15 September, 2014 Would have preferred him to long... I think Hernandez will score more goals than Long this year, although having said that, Long's work rate is amazing and he really gives us something different. Really enjoying seeing him in a Saints shirt

Yeah, that's the one - would have been pleased had we signed him, and like you would be interested to know if we were in for him.

niceandfriendly Posted 16 September, 2014 Share Posted 16 September, 2014 1) If Gaston didn't return the Eterna watch from Cortese then we should fine him 2) Shane Long had his best game for us against Newc, will be good when he finds the net but he is causing problems imo 3) Yeah! Lord Duckhunter Posted 16 September, 2014 Share Posted 16 September, 2014 Are the Hull boards full of posters banging on about how classy he looked running from the bench onto the pitch . Before stating that all he needs is a *run of games/chance/players on the same wavelength / summer break/ manager to believe in him
angelman Posted 16 September, 2014 Share Posted 16 September, 2014 (edited) I must confess to having fallen asleep watching it. Did Gaston actually do anything? I know it has been asked above, but no real answer given. HDM rated him: Gaston Ramirez (for Hernandez 78 ) The on-loan playmaker will crave an extended stage to weave his magic. 6 Edited 16 September, 2014 by angelman

BotleySaint Posted 16 September, 2014 Share Posted 16 September, 2014 Gaston is clearly not rubbish. He just isn't suited for the Premiership - part of me hopes he does well for Hull. But I doubt it.
