Dalek2003 Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Great save by FF Wake up call. No room for complacency.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Above spurs in the table now
Bearsy Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Don't panic guise we're usually better second half. Plenty of time to get double figures.
Batman Posted 13 September, 2014 Author Posted 13 September, 2014 Not really Well, it's hardly all saints with possession is it. Pretty even now
Plastic Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Well, it's hardly all saints with possession is it. Pretty even now Wasn't all saints possession to start with. Horse punchers look gash.
Batman Posted 13 September, 2014 Author Posted 13 September, 2014 Wasn't all saints possession to start with. Horse punchers look gash. Well, they are in the game now. Swansea still winning at Chelsea
jasonb Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 we are we taking our foot off the pedal??? My thought entirely. Seem to be happy to contain. Dangerous game as it may encourage them.
andoru Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Anyone else surprised Newcastle have been allowed to play in their home strip? It's a bit tricky telling the two sides apart at times, and I think Shane Long had trouble with it about ten minutes ago when he passed to a Newcastle player. Both teams have white stripes and black shorts. Anyway, looking fairly good so far. I missed the first 8 mins because of some stupid delay with the TV here, so didn't see the first Pelle goal. Would love to see him grab his hat-trick though. Just need to make sure we don't fall asleep at the back. Couple of good saves from Forster kept us in it. The first one especially. Newcastle should really have scored that one.
Hamilton Saint Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Five minutes to HT: "What Saints must not do now ..."

Hamilton Saint Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 A couple of good chances for Newcastle. Saints lucky ...
Saint Pete Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Would be good if Long can get off the mark today.
Mr X Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 My thought entirely. Seem to be happy to contain. Dangerous game as it may encourage them. Stupidly dangerous game to play thinking 2-0 is enough, it clearly isnt! surely you play till 90 regardless

Edmonton Saint Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Started like an express train, but have taken our foot off the pedal for the last 20 mins or so. Need to come out all guns blazing in the 2nd half, get a third early on and put the game to to bed...Bit worried by our options on the bench this week.
Plastic Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Christ, 2-0 and still complaining. It has been a good performance, which went off the boil in the last 15. I'd be happy with a similar second half.
Bewildered Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 RK needs to give them a boot up the arse at HT. Started looking too complacent after 30mins, just lucky Newcastle have been so bad up to now.
SuperMikey Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 We started very aggressively and quickly, I think taking our foot off the pedal is ok at this point because we don't want to tire by the 70-80 minute mark - Newcastle have strong quick players on the bench they could bring on to make an impact on tired legs. I fully expect us to control the second half and maybe try to snatch another one before the hour before bringing on Wanyama and playing slightly more compact while keeping the ball from Newcastle.
Patrick Bateman Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Newcastle are utterly horrendous - with those players (some are pretty damn good), Pardew is doing an attrocious job. Pellé excellent though, as are Tadic and Long.

I thought there was a requirement to play in the away strip a minumum number of times as well? Wonder if they'll do a Man Utd, blame the kit and come out in a different kit in the second half.
Ohio Saint Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 I complained about the similar strips last season in this match.....Everyone said I was being stupid.

NewYorkSaint Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 What a fantastic team we've assembled. Morgan was magnificent all half. And Pelle... WOW! Now Franny Benali. What a legend. I hope everyone on here has donated.
