BREAKING NEWS: Accrington Stanley and James Beattie have decided to terminate their contract by mutual consent with immediate effect. #SSNHQ

Guess he's been on the muffins again. Not news I'd been expecting

lost 5 and won 1 this season - hardly a surprise.

hope he gets another chance somewhere

Lowest wage bill in the FL and rely on frees and loans so he's done well so far. Must be another reason.

Nonsensical decision. What would they expect any manager to achieve with their resources? I saw their first game of the season and they didn't look that bad, and were trying to play decent football, even if Lee Barnard scored Southend's winner from a penalty.

He mentioned in an article the other day that his family still live down this way and he has a ridiculous amount of travelling to do. Maybe the mutual consent bit is true.

Maybe he was keen on the split?

Yup. Still lives in Poole with wife and kids. Kids were at same school as my kids while his kids were on the waiting list for a school in the posh part of Poole, which they were ultimately able to get in. He was on the school run more regularly than I would have imagined likely given the demands of his job.

If any other manager is going to do just as well/as badly then doesn't really matter that they've sacked him does it.
