ART Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 Sky Sports News HQ @SkySportsNewsHQ 20m BREAKING NEWS: Accrington Stanley and James Beattie have decided to terminate their contract by mutual consent with immediate effect. #SSNHQ Guess he's been on the muffins again. Not news I'd been expecting
John Boy Saint Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 Blimey that's a surprise. Especially as he dipped into his own readies to help the cash flow/wages at the club some time ago.
Ziggy Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 Have Liverpool put an offer in for him yet?
supersonic Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 lost 5 and won 1 this season - hardly a surprise. hope he gets another chance somewhere
beatlesaint Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 Had a bad start last year and he turned it around. Quite surprised considering his generosity in helping out financially.
Doctoroncall Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 lost 5 and won 1 this season - hardly a surprise. hope he gets another chance somewhere Lowest wage bill in the FL and rely on frees and loans so he's done well so far. Must be another reason.
sotonist Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 did he ever bother getting his coaching badges?
Lets B Avenue Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 He will probably be the new Blackpool manager next week. Frying pans to fires, methinks.
Kenilworthy Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 Nonsensical decision. What would they expect any manager to achieve with their resources? I saw their first game of the season and they didn't look that bad, and were trying to play decent football, even if Lee Barnard scored Southend's winner from a penalty.
The Cat Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 He mentioned in an article the other day that his family still live down this way and he has a ridiculous amount of travelling to do. Maybe the mutual consent bit is true.

Maybe he was keen on the split?
Pat from Poole Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 He mentioned in an article the other day that his family still live down this way and he has a ridiculous amount of travelling to do. Maybe the mutual consent bit is true. Yup. Still lives in Poole with wife and kids. Kids were at same school as my kids while his kids were on the waiting list for a school in the posh part of Poole, which they were ultimately able to get in. He was on the school run more regularly than I would have imagined likely given the demands of his job.

If any other manager is going to do just as well/as badly then doesn't really matter that they've sacked him does it.
Whitey Grandad Posted 12 September, 2014 Posted 12 September, 2014 If any other manager is going to do just as well/as badly then doesn't really matter that they've sacked him does it. Not sacked : mutual consent.
Miltonaggro Posted 13 September, 2014 Posted 13 September, 2014 Apparently the Accrington chairman is a violent nudist, who attacked Beattie in the shower. There's a pattern forming here...
