The Cat Posted 11 September, 2014 Share Posted 11 September, 2014 (edited) The fact that Anna Calvi and Bombay Bicycle Club get nominated over Gruff Rhys and The Wytches says all anyone needs to know about this award. Royal Blood will win, despite their album having been rushed out to the detriment of its quality by a sales hungry record label. Personally I'd give it to Twigs. The Cat Posted 11 September, 2014 Share Posted 11 September, 2014 Kate Tempest for me. Incredibly talented lady. Saw her play about 5 or so years ago at a festival with her old band called Sound Of Rum. We were wandering past a small bandstand while they were on and couldn't help but stop and watch the rest of the gig. Not quite sure why they were roundly ignored by the media, but glad she is getting her dues now.

Went with a friend to one of her plays at the roundhouse this year and was really impressed. I like this album too. There's things on the list that are more me and I'd listen to more frequently but feel she is most deserving of this. As I said before, she's a seriously talented lady.
