krissyboy31 Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 It may have been a good goal, but one moment doesn't really paper over the cracks of the insipid hour that preceded it. It is uninspiring but to be fair, England are good value for the lead. How are the Swiss ranked in the worlds top 10? They're pants!!
SaintRobbie Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 It was a good goal... Welbeck, another nail in van Moyes coffin from the English media?
Bearsy Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 It may have been a good goal, but one moment doesn't really paper over the cracks of the insipid hour that preceded it. Really? Been miles better than WC in my opinion! Never seen a DM give the ball away as much as wilshere does tho, he's been annoying me a bit!
SaintRobbie Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Hart has kept England in the game. Very dependable tonight.

Batman Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Stones and wilshere the weak links by a mile welbeck, cahill, henderson done well tonight, as hart has
Bearsy Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Yeah that's fair B-Man, maybe we're spoiled with right backs but stones don't seem much. Delph looks better than I thought tho, I spose cos you don't normally get to see him play football at villa
SaintRobbie Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Stones and wilshere the weak links by a mile welbeck, cahill, henderson done well tonight, as hart has Henderson been ok for me Batman, but a few wayward passes.
benjii Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Thing is, if Hodgson doesn't rate Clyne for some reason then so be it but Chambers is a much better RB than Stones as well.
Saintru Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Let's face it we have been poor for many years. We have had the odd good game here and there but we have been generally average and lose to a better class of team. Since Gazza left we have lost our way! I am not sure why we are being canned tonight, the Swiz are not the greatest but they had a good World Cup to be fair.

Lazlo78 Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Mass "Alpine moment" when England scored and noone knew how to celebrate because everyone want Roy to fail From my perspective, England has played a very good game tonight with a few weak individual performances in between. This Swiss side is actually quite good, so getting three points away against them is a very good result.
angelman Posted 8 September, 2014 Author Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Surely if Lallana can get some fitness and form, he must be a shoe in in the midfield.

Batman Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 0-2 great result very good 2nd half to be fair. Welbeck MoM for me. He may be a tad clumsy but he is far more of a team player and direct than sturridge. I would like to see sturridge win his place back rather than just walk right back in. Henderson was very good tonight, not in the sitting role, delph was OK. Hart, Cahill good wilshere needs time out of the team, he really does and stones needs to play for everton before he plays right back again for england, clyne is just miles better good result

angelman Posted 8 September, 2014 Author Share Posted 8 September, 2014 For me, the midfield is weak, offers no protection to the defence who can crumble under the pressure. At the same time, the forwards don't get great service. So, sort out the midfield and get rid of Rooney and we might be going somewhere.

S-Clarke Posted 8 September, 2014 Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Good clinical game from Wellbeck, Lambert doing the job from the bench that he's going to be doing a lot this year! Very clever hold up and pass to be fair. Still think our final third efforts improved once Wiltshire was off. Slows the play too much.

angelman Posted 8 September, 2014 Author Share Posted 8 September, 2014 Undroppable. If we are ever going to get anywhere, we have to be ruthless with selection. No place for Rooney, Wilshere etc etc. And Danny Rose in the squad. **** me we must be desperate, but I guess when the Pie Man gets back on games, he will slot in there.
