Morgan and tonight's France vs Spain

I only watched the recording I had of France v Spain from the point where Schneiderlin came on - I thought he looked like he didn't have a clue what he was meant to be doing - which is totally understandable as a defensive midfielder brought on with about 15 minutes left.

He did a lot of Pulis-like crab-movement with thinking about closing down, and on a few occasions actively took up positions where the man on the ball could not possibly pass to him - for instance twice he went down the line and put a defender in the way, when staying square would have allowed him to receive the ball. It was a bit weird, really, though he didn't actively do anything majorly bad.

Seeing it was a foul by him just outside the penalty box that led to Serbia equalising, he maybe should keep quiet and not draw attention to himself.

Here is a translation where he speaks well of the club, the recruitment and getting him picked for France

Tenured against Serbia (1-1) this Sunday Morgan Schneiderlin was pleased to have started the match but regrets Kolarov's equalizer in the final minutes.

Morgan Schneiderlin (midfielder Team France): "It was a very good week. We knew that after this World Cup we had to keep the same pace, and we managed to do it by winning against Spain. Again, against Serbia , still a tough opponent and a lawn that was not Obviously, it's a bit frustrating to concede a draw. Apart from the set pieces, the Serbs have not had a lot of situations. Sure it will work this aspect.

"There was always a little disappointed not to be able to leave this summer," I was quite happy with this second start for France. I tried to have fun and I'm always looking to improve. I will continue to work with my club. Even though there was always a little disappointed not to be able to leave this summer, I know it's part of football. Southampton has done everything to keep me and, in addition, he made a nice recruiting. It is thanks to this club that I could join the team of France, and now I have to be focused on only Southampton can return regular selection. "

Fair enough quotes from Morgan, pretty pointless pretending he didn't want to leave. He'll get on with it and we move on.

Someone here commented that they think Koeman had a word and said to him: "give me one more season and I'll get you to (say) Barca. Don't p iss it away going to Tottenham". I like that idea a lot. Lets hope that works out for all of us: we all win.

"I found an agreement to join another club that wasn't in Champions League. I did not want to force myself out. Especially for the fans, it would not have been an honourable way."

OK - he didn't want to be a **** by forcing through a move, but sure, fine, yup, I (as a fan) am more than happy that he agreed terms with another club. F***ing disingenuous tosser. Me thinks matey boy doesn't know the meaning of "honourable".

Morgan confirms that he agreed terms with Spurs? Totally illegal if true from what I remember of the transfer system, I hope we attempt to nail Spurs if that is the case.

I'm sure there was an agreement in place between all parties, but after the club saw the reaction from the Chambers sale, and probably the reaction from Koeman they pulled it. I'm pretty certain that from his reaction ''6 years destroyed etc'' that something had been agreed, and we'd pulled the plug. That's how I see it.

I still don't fully understand his '6 years' comment. I presume he's only looking at the situation from an entirely personal view, but if you sign a long term contract you should expect to be kept to its full term. Otherwise it would be like getting married on sale or return.

Heat of the moment quite clearly, but probably felt that he'd had a good relationship with club and fans for the last 6 years, and their 'block' (or whatever you want to call it) had the potential to sour it.

In the end, he's knuckled down, sorted his head out (and found it) and has started the season very well. He'll go within the next 10 months, easily, but at least he's shown a degree of professionalism in the end.

I still don't think any player should be DISCUSSING let alone agreeing personal terms before a fee has been set regardless of other factors.
