Ohio Saint Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 (edited) Obviously we won't know for a while yet, but just for fun, which do you think will turn out to be the best buy/loan? Pelle Tadic Bertrand Gardos Alderweireld Long Forster Mane Taider I would say Tadic, but I have seen him play. I'm leaning toward Toby in terms of the difference he might make for us in the long term and value for money if we buy him. Edited 2 September, 2014 by Ohio Saint
Ken Tone Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 No offence mate, but this is a daft question till we've seen them play a few times.
Ohio Saint Posted 2 September, 2014 Author Posted 2 September, 2014 (edited) No offence mate, but this is a daft question till we've seen them play a few times. um...that's why I said it's too soon to tell and just for fun. dont you have one that excites you more than others for some reason? Edited 2 September, 2014 by Ohio Saint
KingdomCome Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Between Forster and Tadic. Probably Tadic given the fact he was more desperately needed.
Ohio Saint Posted 2 September, 2014 Author Posted 2 September, 2014 Koeman hmmm. He would win by a landslide.
pangy Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Koeman by a mile Not sure who else we could of signed as manager but judging by some of the deadwood that is out there (Malky,Clarke) etc I am 100% confident they would not of been able to sign players like TA,Tadic & Pelle If I am picking a player Tadic & Bertrand have been very impressive
sadoldgit Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Koeman for me by a country mile. He is shaping up to be the Man. I dont expect miricles overnight but I really think he has it in him to take this club up a level.
Saint Charlie Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Until we have seen them all play its a little futile.
Ohio Saint Posted 2 September, 2014 Author Posted 2 September, 2014 Until we have seen them all play its a little futile. Let me reiterate for the illiterate. It is for fun. thats what it said on the can.
sadoldgit Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Tadic looks like the player to get people out of their seats. He has adapted very well to Prem footy and looks nailed on to help us forget all about our previous captain!
JakkoUK Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Koeman is no doubt the best signing we made, he is just the right man for the job. If I was to choose a player though it would be Tadic from what I have seen so far and then Pelle if he carry's on with his last two performances. Although would probably would be best to judge this after a couple months.
ThorpG Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 In pure quality terms, Tadic. In terms of apparently replacing a player who apparently couldn't be replaced, Bertrand has made a great start, albeit easier to judge after 40 games rather then 4.

notnowcato Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Shane Long - won't be a favourite of many but he adds something a bit different to our front line. Has a similar touch and vision as SRL but much more mobile and a bit of a nasty streak which I like in a forward. Our options in attack now are as good as they have been for 30 years. Good times.

I hope you are right, but looks an odd one to me - a fit again Rodriguez and I don't see Long threatening the first XI. I do think he may prove useful away from home where he can run the channels, harry the defence and press, where we will likely have to defend more and absorb pressure - at home where we ought to have more of the ball, I am less clear why he would play.
Miltonaggro Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Tadic in the games so far, but the signing of Alderweireld is a major statement in terms of the quality the club (Koeman) can now attract, on paper he makes mincemeat out of the likes of Lovren per se. DT called it right, and Big Ron is key, and the beauty of having a bona fide legend at the helm is that I don't think he will be off the first time a bigger club flashes their knickers!...
Jonnyboy Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Seems people have forgotten Kat's shrewdest signing at the top the big man Krueger?
fanimal Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 To answer your question Ohio, which seems beyond the capacity of many on this forum for the last few months, I will say our Lion's Mane as of all of them I think he has it in him to become a new cult hero, as I really hope so.
Pedro Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Keeping Morgan and JRod was significant in this window, seems a strong squad now.
SNSUN Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Tadic. I can see him costing Liverpool the most of any of our new signings next summer.
cellone Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Bertrand. Had him on FM2006, replaced Butters at RB and played for us for the rest of his career at this level (multiple PL winners and CL winners). He and JR owned the right side and many medals.
aintforever Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Forster will get us more points per pound than any of the other signings IMO.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Forster...will prove to be a steadying rock that glues our defence together.
whelk Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 No offence mate, but this is a daft question till we've seen them play a few times. FFS why does every post like this get some miserable sod posting that it is daft. So you have no opinion on what may be a good signing until you have seen then play? No way signing Messi would excite me until I could make a judgement in May cos I'm in control of my emotions me.
whelk Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Until we have seen them all play its a little futile. My you are one boring bastard. Why not start a we're doomed thread?
hypochondriac Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Who is the bloke who does that blog where he interviews people about players? Has he done one for the two new arrivals yet?
Fan The Flames Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 I'm going for Pelle; every team needs its standard bearer and I'm marching on behind Pelle the fella. UTS

Ohio Saint Posted 3 September, 2014 Author Posted 3 September, 2014 http://georgeweahscousin.com/2014/09/02/on-the-mane-sadio-is-a-saint/ That looked like a very well considered assessment. Looks like we are in for plenty of mixed emotions from his play!
Mallagroth Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 (edited) Tough call. Pelle for me. RoKo has built the team around him. 2 in 4 already and should be more. Like the guys attitude and commitment especially for a full 90 minutes. Hoping Mane will do for us what Michu did for Swansea. Edited 3 September, 2014 by Mallagroth

saintadjg Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 Bertrand has looked really good so far. Certainly got me eating my words.just wish we'd taken the gamble and signed him straight away. I hate the loan system and think it is being seriously abused
saintstr1 Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 I actually think all the new signings look good but only time will tell , But The Main Man is Koeman
buctootim Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 Mane will prove to be the biggest upgrade on what we already had in that postion.
doc oli Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 Reckon it'll be Toby -based purely on his Youtube video, but hey, its only for fun
Hatch Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 Forster will win player of the season this year
TwoPints Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 I'm going for Toby. Hopefully he'll be as good as the reputation that he came with.
