Mr X Posted 2 September, 2014 Share Posted 2 September, 2014 With the two new additions which I am quietly excited about, the team is starting to take shape and although we have clearly lost most of our best players from last season I can now see where koeman is heading and perhaps its not the full on disaster we initially thought! However I am alarmmed that we might be considering offers for jrod, after a slow start and his fair share of criticism he has shaped into one of my favourite saints players with a great work ethic, think he would be great alongside sadio and tadic. We will no doubt get more offers for jrod than the one from spurs, really hope the board can stay strong this time, we need players like j rod! If he won't sign a new contract and has proved his fitness he will be sold in January, simple as. Hopefully we will continue our good form and he will sign a new deal as he is quality but otherwise I will fully support his sale!
ART Posted 2 September, 2014 Share Posted 2 September, 2014 I think both JayRod and Morgan will stay with the club till the end of the season . I feel they are both comfortable with the new team additions and the new style of play. That will be further helped if we remain in the top 6. Should we do better I am such they'll remain at the club due to showing ambition and them being able to play Champions League. What will really help is if Pochettino fails to get the results at Spurs. Constant danger could be Liverpool and Man U being interested in signing one or both of them. sadoldgit Posted 2 September, 2014 Share Posted 2 September, 2014 Jay Rod cant play anyway at the moment and the Board have made it is clear that he is not for sale at the moment - so nothing to worry about! If he refuses to sign a new contract in the future he will go anyway. This summer has shown more than ever before that no one is bigger than the club. Dont want to see him go but there will always be other strikers out there!
derry Posted 2 September, 2014 Share Posted 2 September, 2014 His house in Wellow is up for sale. It may be that it is a bit isolated.
sadoldgit Posted 2 September, 2014 Share Posted 2 September, 2014 The big question about Jay, as we all know, is will he come back as strong and as good? I hope so but it is a big injury for someone who relies on pace to come back from.
Bobbyboy Posted 2 September, 2014 Share Posted 2 September, 2014 I think realistically the club have to at least plan for life without J-Rod. He's not playing right now, he may not come back fully from injury to reach last season's heights, he may end up at another club in January. Much as I think we should try and keep him and get him back to last year's standards, the club are probably being prudent in their planning and treating any serious comeback from him as a bonus. Supersubpuckett Posted 2 September, 2014 Share Posted 2 September, 2014 I'd sell him, not sure many players have come back as good after an injury like that - also I never thought he was prolific enough, especially given the number of chances he got. doddisalegend Posted 2 September, 2014 Share Posted 2 September, 2014 He won't sign a new contract and I can't see the club being happy just to let it run down so he can leave for free. Add to the fact we have no idea if he will ever come back as the same player he was before injury I think the club will see at as good sense to sell him. toe_punt Posted 3 September, 2014 Share Posted 3 September, 2014 Lets see him come back and play before we offer him anything. He may never be the same after the surgery, in which case he can go.
Ohio Saint Posted 3 September, 2014 Share Posted 3 September, 2014 All we have to do is finish above Liverpool, Spurs and Manure. Simples.
