farawaysaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Implies he was a lazy git. Isn't talented but awful work ethic what we were warned when we took him on?
stevegrant Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 My interpretation is that he assumed he was guaranteed a start without having to actually earn it. Meh, hasn't cost us much, next!
saint si Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Looks like SSN(HQ) is about to catch up too...
Plastic Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Implies he was a lazy git. It does. Shame, I saw him play in the Leverkusen game and he was skilful.
Baird of the land Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Club certainly aren't pulling any punches with that statement. Wonder if tearing up deal has cost us anything. Glad to be shot of him, especially if it increases the chances for cork playing, staying and getting the new contract he has earned through consistent top notch performances.
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Isn't talented but awful work ethic what we were warned when we took him on? We were also warned that Osvaldo was a head case.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I have a theory that the club received it's first bill from the Grand de Vere hotel, including room service and bar bill.
Professor Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Wonder how the OS heard the news. Maybe they read it in The Echo.
KingdomCome Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Robust to say the least. They're obviously not happy with him and probably best for all involved to end it. The benefits of a loan deal.
buctootim Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I have a theory that the club received it's first bill from the Grand de Vere hotel, including room service and bar bill. Jack Daniels with coke, and pepsi as a mixer
angelman Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 pretty embarrassing for the lad. True, and not totally necessary from the club to phrase it in that way.
SNSUN Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I'd rather Reed got the chance to show what he can do TBF. Taider was seemingly a squad player, if he didn't want to be that, we were right to tell him to pee off.
Hamilton Saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 True, and not totally necessary from the club to phrase it in that way. Of course not. Diplomatic words are usually the order of the day. Must have been some significant problems there.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Seen that on twitter Glasgow, the club have actually offered to refund/replace the shirt for him.
Heisenberg Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Seen that on twitter Glasgow, the club have actually offered to refund/replace the shirt for him. I just saw that. Fair play from the club. V.funny Not sure why the guy got Taider before he'd played
Viking Warrior Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Has he taken the crown from Ali Dia as the worst short lived footballers who have signed for us ?
sussexsaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Has he taken the crown from Ali Dia as the worst short lived footballers who have signed for us ? Forren never kicked a ball with the first team did he? just a few reseve games
Lighthouse Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Has he taken the crown from Ali Dia as the worst short lived footballers who have signed for us ? Forren, Tejera, Sarmiento, O'Halloran, Ian Pearce (played away at S****horpe under Pearson), Flakey (that Spanish kid from Spuds), Kanchelskis, Marcus Hall, Bledelis (came on in that Tranmere game), Kleber Challa, Yahia. I'm sure there are more out there who played 1 game or not at all.
Ulrich van Gobbel Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Forren, Tejera, Sarmiento, O'Halloran, Ian Pearce (played away at S****horpe under Pearson), Flakey (that Spanish kid from Spuds), Kanchelskis, Marcus Hall, Bledelis (came on in that Tranmere game), Kleber Challa, Yahia. I'm sure there are more out there who played 1 game or not at all. Federico Arias is another that springs to mind!
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 True, and not totally necessary from the club to phrase it in that way. I expect they are still pretty raw after the kicking they have had from many over the summer and are playing hardball now before they get more flak. Mind you they did the same with Poch and Lovren. No love lost there either!
farawaysaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Forepast, Pulis. Arias 'the torpedo ' Sarmiento? Expected so much.
Cascadia Saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Oh ffs!!! Yes, but do you think he will make first eleven? You will look total baboon d'or with that shirt.
USA SaintsFan Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Oh ffs!!! Haha last year I got osvaldo on my jersey and now look what's happened to him.
The9 Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Has he taken the crown from Ali Dia as the worst short lived footballers who have signed for us ? Well, no, because he's already played for Inter, for Algeria in a World Cup, and also scored in his only appearance for the development squad as well as looking quite decent in the Leverkusen sub appearance. Considering all that, he must be a right bell-end to get the boot that soon.
Chez Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 With the ease in which we cancelled the move it suggests that it was Inter that was paying his wages not us, otherwise Inter might have refused to allow him back (as they would then have to pick up his wages again). I guess that means we must be paying Osvaldo's wages. Strikes me we have missed out on a Inter Milan player free of charge (including wages). Can we go back and pick another one?
angelman Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Not sure about Osvaldo's wages. Last season's loan, we didn't pay anything. I imagine that having done it once, we would do it again. And if we did have to pick up his £50k a week wages (or maybe it was more), then it would be better to just write that off the sale price and bin him.
SaintRobbie Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Not sure this deserves to be a sticky for much longer, I mean by proportion to his service for the club he deserves to be a sticky for 30 seconds maximum. I take it he won't be making the Saintsweb banner then? 3
Cookie Crumble Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 If he can't be arsed to work hard why should we bother. At least we don't get Osvaldo back
Dellman Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 The club statement sounds harsh but it may achieve two things: help him to realise he is a professional and has to keep standards to earn his money and it should let any Saints wannabee know not to mess with Koeman. Win-win
Saint Charlie Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 Interesting comments from his people... As for Saphir Taïder, his camp said that he was promised Morgan Schneiderlin's place on arrival. Taïder didn't want to wait for playing time
Greenridge Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 Interesting comments from his people... As for Saphir Taïder, his camp said that he was promised Morgan Schneiderlin's place on arrival. Taïder didn't want to wait for playing time That can't be true. Morgan was never leaving. Source / quotes please.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 3 September, 2014 Author Posted 3 September, 2014 That can't be true. Morgan was never leaving. Source / quotes please. If Morgan had decided to go on strike and outright refuse to play, we'd have needed someone to step in.
Wrensup Posted 3 September, 2014 Posted 3 September, 2014 If Morgan had decided to go on strike and outright refuse to play, we'd have needed someone to step in. Jack Cork...?
Hatch Posted 11 November, 2014 Posted 11 November, 2014 anyone follow italian footy, Do you know how this fella is getting on ?
Crazy Diamond Posted 11 November, 2014 Posted 11 November, 2014 anyone follow italian footy, Do you know how this fella is getting on ? Well, Inter let him out on loan to Sassuolo... And then let him play against them. Sassuolo lost 7 - 0 at the San Siro where Osvaldo scored twice, Taider playing the second half when already 4 - 0 down. Not great I'd say. He's still not clocked how ridiculous his hair is either.
