Lallana's Left Peg Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 'Have now discovered Schneiderlin's agent was in Southampton team hotel on Saturday to be told his client must keep his head down and perform and then the club will look at his situation again in January, but more likely next summer. 'Big issues with Victor Wanyama on the day of the gem too. He also wants out but Southampton are refusing to let him go. All got a bit tasty at the hotel before the game by all accounts, but players responded on the pitch by beating West Ham 3-1.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2739246/Transfer-News-DEADLINE-DAY-LIVE-Follow-deals-rumours-drama-unfolds.html Relentless from Ashton. 10/10 for perseverance.
Shroppie Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Tedious as ever. But an ounce of truth if that was reason VW left out on Saturday.
SuperSAINT Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Tedious as ever. But an ounce of truth if that was reason VW left out on Saturday. Bl00dy hope not! - Our midfield will be thread bare in a year
Trout-Tickler Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Tedious as ever. But an ounce of truth if that was reason VW left out on Saturday. Thought VW was out due to injury sustained at Millwall?
farawaysaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 It's been obvious for a while Wanyama wants out so hardly surprising and Schneiderlin's problems are more than well documented.
doddisalegend Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Thought VW was out due to injury sustained at Millwall? thought he had been left out after a s hit performance at Millwall
ratio_decidendi Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 It would be pretty gutless of Wanyama to want out after his earlier comments about intending to stay. Seems like a bit of pointless stirring.
doddisalegend Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 It's been obvious for a while Wanyama wants out so hardly surprising and Schneiderlin's problems are more than well documented. Really? What have I missed.
Smirking_Saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 It's been obvious for a while Wanyama wants out so hardly surprising and Schneiderlin's problems are more than well documented. How has it been obvious ?
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Why would the management wait until the day of a match to have that conversation with Morgan's agent? I thought it had been "sorted" before Saturday anyway.
Saint_Ash Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 It's been obvious for a while Wanyama wants out so hardly surprising and Schneiderlin's problems are more than well documented. Has it? He's played well apart from the Millwall game where he probably felt he didn't have to get out of second gear. I wouldn't be surprised if he was dropped for the West Ham game as Koeman won't allow complacency.
lloydie Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 How has it been obvious ? Obvious in that he hasn't said a word about it. That kind of obvious?
Wade Garrett Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Fair play to him for actually getting paid to be nothing more than a troll.
saint1977 Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Neil Ashton adding 2+2 = 5. Not surprising that a Mail journalist can't add up as he certainly can't spell - it's 'game' not 'gem' you thick t wat. With 2-3 new arrivals and hopefully no major departures at SFC, time to read it and weep Neil. He'll be weeping even more soon once UKIP cut the Tory party in half.
farawaysaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 (edited) Obvious in that he hasn't said a word about it. That kind of obvious? Sorry, interview attached, just give me a second Notice how he says very soon he will be going back to the Champions league, interview in the Kenyan Daily Post. http://thebreakingnewskenya.wordpress.com/2014/05/29/victor-wanyama-reveals-champions-league-ambitions-hints-at-saints-exit/ Edited 1 September, 2014 by farawaysaint
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Negative articles = made-up trouble-making Positive articles = accurate and objective

farawaysaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 An interview he very soon afterwards said was basically made up. Ah, so I'm the one who missed something then. Apologies guys
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Negative articles = made-up trouble-making Positive articles = accurate and objective Mail articles = take with a pinch of salt
angelman Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I think you are being unfair here on Simon Jones. He and Ashton take it in turns to write something about Saints. I might be a little touchy but I can't recall a positive article since the Chief Exec (or whatever title he gave himself) decided he was going to be off. Maybe they will write something positive about us one day.
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Mail articles = take with a pinch of salt We can dismiss the link to Mane then. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2739393/Southampton-offer-11-8million-Red-Bull-Salzburg-forward-Sadio-Mane.html
Bewildered Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 We can dismiss the link to Mane then. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2739393/Southampton-offer-11-8million-Red-Bull-Salzburg-forward-Sadio-Mane.html Simon Jones just rewrites other people's stuff so it's reliability is entirely dependent on which outlet he got the story from.
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 We can dismiss the link to Mane then. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2739393/Southampton-offer-11-8million-Red-Bull-Salzburg-forward-Sadio-Mane.html You can believe or disbelieve all you like. I am just saying that if you believe everything you read in the Mail you are going to be disappointed.
Dig Dig Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 You can believe or disbelieve all you like. I am just saying that if you believe everything you read in the Mail you are going to be disappointed. Same notion applies to when you disbelieve everything just because it's in the Mail......you may be disappointed...
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Same notion applies to when you disbelieve everything just because it's in the Mail......you may be disappointed... The Mail publishes a lot more rubbish about Saints than other papers but yes - there is a lot of cr*p printed. For example, Capel was supposed to have been a done deal today.
Saint Jude Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 ..so they all had a big falling out before the West Ham game... and MS chooses that game to come out and do what was a pretty positive interview...yes he didn't commit his future wholesale to the club... but why not just keep his head down.. if there had been a big fall out...
SW5 SAINT Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 It's been obvious for a while Wanyama wants out so hardly surprising and Schneiderlin's problems are more than well documented. And still they don't give Jack Cork a new contract!
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Same notion applies to when you disbelieve everything just because it's in the Mail......you may be disappointed... Seems they were wrong about Taider as well. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2738133/Saphir-Taider-set-leave-Southampton-just-THREE-weeks-arriving-season-log-loan-Inter-Milan.html
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 The point is that the Mail have probably done more muck racking about SFC this summer than any other newspaper which would imply there is some kind of agenda going on.
brett24 Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Seems they were wrong about Taider as well. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2738133/Saphir-Taider-set-leave-Southampton-just-THREE-weeks-arriving-season-log-loan-Inter-Milan.html That was written by Simon Peach not Neil Ashton.
Toomer Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 The point is that the Mail have probably done more muck racking about SFC this summer than any other newspaper which would imply there is some kind of agenda going on. Any other newspaper should read all the other newspapers put together.
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 That was written by Simon Peach not Neil Ashton. The discussion with SOG (see his post #20) has turned to the DM in general.
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 The club themselves made a point of saying that the Mail (and the Echo for that matter) print rubbish about the club. Would you disagree that the Mail has printed more negative stories about SFC than most this summer???
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 The discussion with SOG (see his post #20) has turned to the DM in general. Is it not more the point that the things you are picking out are things that are being widely reported in several places. This thing from Ashton is the only place I have heard of a falling out pre-match and Big Vic being desperate to leave, other than an 'interview' which the man himself said was untrue.
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Is it not more the point that the things you are picking out are things that are being widely reported in several places. This thing from Ashton is the only place I have heard of a falling out pre-match and Big Vic being desperate to leave, other than an 'interview' which the man himself said was untrue. No that's not the point. The 'point' is ref post #20 or post #16. Papers are papers, journo's are journo's. The bottom line is there is a mix of BS and accuracy in all media and you have to fight you're way through it to find the truth. But to dismiss or believe everything is probably not the answer.
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 The "point" about the Mail is that, more than any other paper, seem to have had it in for SFC this summer. How much is BS and who much is true who knows - but they do seem to have an agenda.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 No that's not the point. The 'point' is ref post #20 or post #16. Papers are papers, journo's are journo's. The bottom line is there is a mix of BS and accuracy in all media and you have to fight you're way through it to find the truth. But to dismiss or believe everything is probably not the answer. Well yes, that's obvious really. No-one is disputing that really, are they?
oldsarum Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 That was written by Simon Peach not Neil Ashton. Worth noting Simon Peach is a Saints fan was once a member of London Saints so don't think he has an agenda against us
Aziz Yebda Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Still waaaaaaaaaaaaa'ing that Cortese has gone
cellone Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Still waaaaaaaaaaaaa'ing that Cortese has gone How do you feel about Taider failing here?
DuncanRG Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 If Wanyama does want out, then respect to him for getting his head down, playing well and keeping that business quiet.
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Can we now expect an article in the Daily Mail talking about how well the Board and manager have done in stabilising the club and rebuilding the squad in a short space of time? Somehow I doubt it.
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 How do you feel about Taider failing here? Surely the one who needs to worry about Taider's failure here is Taider himself. He has made himself look very unprofessional and you'd think others would think twice before signing him.
Aziz Yebda Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 How do you feel about Taider failing here? should have built the team around him.
cellone Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 should have built the team around him. Like it
LostBoys Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 All together now P**s Off Ashton just let us know when you come to St Marys and we can let you know exactly what we think of you.
whelk Posted 2 September, 2014 Posted 2 September, 2014 Same notion applies to when you disbelieve everything just because it's in the Mail......you may be disappointed... Are you saying it's not true that I will only be able to buy halal meat at Tescos and that immigrants despite being behind me in the queue won't get served first?
Greenridge Posted 8 September, 2014 Posted 8 September, 2014 The Mail publishes a lot more rubbish about Saints than other papers but yes - there is a lot of cr*p printed. For example, Capel was supposed to have been a done deal today. More rubbish from The DM. Where will it ever end?! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2748093/Francis-Benali-pushing-limit-ex-Southampton-defender-runs-1000-miles-three-weeks-Cancer-Research.html
sadoldgit Posted 8 September, 2014 Posted 8 September, 2014 (edited) Strange post. So you are saying that they haven't printed any rubbish about us this summer??? Edited 8 September, 2014 by sadoldgit
