#SaintsFC's Gaston Ramirez not a #HCAFC player yet but deal is likely. Season-long loan but no option to buy. Chance for regular football.

No option to buy could end up making it a good deal for us in 12 months time.

I'm passing on what a dodgy source of mine said on Twitter, seems too stupid to make up. Just checked Twitter: SP said "not a Hull player yet contrary to reports, nothing sorted". 29 mins ago.
So Peach wasn't saying on twitter that "Gaston isn't happening".

Anyone else still a bit concerned as to why we seem to prefer loans nowadays?

No. I think it'd just a FFP loophole. There seems to be quite a few loan deals being down this season.

Go to the Asset Stripping thread, the children on there are having fun digging up threads by random posters to prove that there is no problem in happy clapper land.

Like I said, mate with history of misreporting on Twitter, so I checked for myself and updated the comment.

2 loans. Toby and Bertrand?

And anyway we have wasted a lot of money the last 3 years and are stuck with the likes of Osvaldo and Mayuka on long contracts.

If not certain its a grest option.

In caee of Toby would imagine he just wants to put himself in PL shop window then see what happens next summer.

Deal is done. Toby Alderweireld (25) 1 year on loan to Southampton! Passed his medicals. Belgian defender leaves Atlético Madrid. #SaintsFC

Belgian journalist who has reported all the Alderweireld stuff saying TA deal is done

Really annoyed that the club have let Ramirez go. Why? It's not like we need the cash.

Because he wanted regular football and he wasn't going to get it here.

When I first saw the Gaston report I thought "Oh no, not Gaston he's so... he's so..." and that was as far as I got. We all know he's got incredible talent, but if he can only show it for about ten minutes every six games before dislocating an eyebrow or something then that doesn't cut it.

I'd love love love him to succeed at Saints, because when he does do one of his ten minute cameos he's as good as we've got. But if RonKo reckons he'll benefit from a season out on loan (with no option to buy) and he's a huge success at Hull then we can take him back as a new player.

Official presentation of @AlderweireldTob at @SouthamptonFC will be on Wednesday. Tomorrow back in Belgium to train with national team.

Was bemused at Gaston, but look at it this way, it's a good way to give him a final shot at the PL. If he flops at Hull, we get shot, and save on this yrs wages. If he does well, we get him back next year more PL ready, or boost re-sale value. And he won't play against us and may end up taking points off other rivals. I'd still like to have seen him given another shot under RoKo, but whatevs.

IF Gaston Ramirez goes to Hull - & he hasn't yet according to @SimonPeach - it will go against what Koeman said to me last week about him / Koeman said Gaston wasn't fit & he didn't want any players to leave. However, board may be keen to shift his wages which are high

If you want to watch 3 black cars driving up a lane towards Carrington, then tune into SSN, they've been on about 10 times... exciting viewing over and over and over again.

3 with Taider.

You're right, but it's a complete departure from our usual transfer philosophy.

Think it's nice that SSN are dedicating time to a lower premiership club this year. Just can't get that bloody 'rock me Amadeus ' song out of my head.

To think the 'gaston Ramires' thread has come to this

Fine with Gaston going, he needs a season to prove himself, if he does well, value increases and if not... his wages for a year paid.

Can you let us know all the details of his contract. You know for sure that Hull are paying his wages, in full? This is nothing to do with wages. The wage bill for (just about the) smallest squad in the PL must be relatively small. Is that 15 players out since the end of last season now (not even counting Tadier).

They must have a deal with the local Eastern European car wash if the players have to drive down the same muddy farm track to training every day.

Still not quite sure you have a point.

Pelle - £8m

Tadic - 10.75m

Long - 12m

Mene (poss) - 12m

Gardos - £6m

Forster - £10m

Bertrand loan - option for a £10m fee

Toby on loan - because he was the one who preferred the loan.

We will have spent almost £60m, so why is anything we've done a complete departure from any usual philosophy? We've signed most of our players for fee's.

What do you mean "and?"

and he obviously has no intention of playing him, perhaps he doesn't see the potential so many on here do.

I mean 'and' are we to take it that every decision Mr. Koeman makes is the correct one? He'd be the first manager we've ever had where that's the case. I like Koeman so far, seems to take no ****, but I'll make a judgement come the end of the season.

Also, I think you're wrong about playing him. He may have wanted a guaranteed start and Koeman at this time is unwilling to do so, but he brought him on last weekend and I'm sure if he'd done well in his next couple of sub appearances he'd have broken into the team.

Gaston is probably one of the highest earners in the squad and it therefore makes financial sense to get him off the wage bill if he isn't going to be a regular. If he does well at Hull we should be able to get a decent fee for him next summer
