Saint_Abroad Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Ok, it's getting late here and so nearly time for bed. In my secondary life mission (ie to bring the world's worst possible karaoke songs to the Public domain) in the past week I discovered a new song to sing that 1) brings the house down (in more ways than one) and 2) either gets me gallons of free beer for the sheer balls to do it or 3) thrown out for ruining everyone else's evening. Anyway, that isn't relevant to the Deadline day thread. What IS relevant is that my latest sh1yt song epic actually is one I have been humming most of today while I looked back over many of the posts on our Transfer window thread, some of the Twitter bullkrap of the summer and much of the press stories. In fact, I may just renew my subscription so that I can repost the link to the song every time one of the batcharlardalpinehyprichmondmans-esaintochondriac etc post over the rest of this season. Oh and of course I'll post a link in the comments section everytime Neil Asstun writes in the Fail. Enjoy the the late night drama of two more International players joining in what is shaping up to be a bloody good team this year and hum this little ditty every time one of the wums posts their drivel Joe Dolce is the Australian Bruce Springsteen. FACT. Look it up.

Saint Charlie Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Jim Proudfoot saying Spurs could still sign J-Rod. His Camp must be working overtime as its come up loads of times today. I think most people realise this move will happen in Jan or the summer anyway, as unless he signs a new deal we will almost certainly have to sell rather than lose him for nothing. Hopefully we can somehow persuade him we are just as competitive as Spurs.
Dr Who? Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Is that Jim on sky sports yet? That is when you know you are in the last stages! Idiot!
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Is he a hobbit? No idea, sounds like it though. So yes, yes he is. Saw it on F365.
Dellman Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 So SO pleased Hooiveld's going, absolute donkey in the PL. Did a great job for us when it really mattered and helped get us where we are. good luck Jos and thanks!
Pancake Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Jim Proudfoot saying Spurs could still sign J-Rod. Well, of course they could. We could sign Rooney. portsmouth could sign Benteke. Could. Could. Could.

S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 What wanyama rumours? Have i missed them? Nothing of any real creditability.

Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 32 years old, we're looking for young, up coming players, not old has beens ready for their golden pay day.. So you'd write Rickie off if he was still here? Sheringham was still banging them in for Utd at 36. Age has nothing to do with it. He's a proven goalscorer. Something that Shane Long isn't. A player like Defoe is a very useful player to have in the squad. He'll always score goals & younger players could learn a lot from someone like him. Watch what he does at Leicester. I'd have money on him getting more that Long this season.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Still not agreed personal terms with Toby Update: Toby Alderweireld from Atlético Madrid passed his medicals tonight at Southampton, but still no personal agreement. #SaintsFC
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 the rule states deals must be concluded, not announced. reckon it will be lunchtime tomorrow till we are sure about J-Rod and Morgs
Solid Saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 10:59 59 seconds At which point we move into the planck time transfer period, its quite short.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 the rule states deals must be concluded, not announced. reckon it will be lunchtime tomorrow till we are sure about J-Rod and Morgs No chance. You'd hear about that before then, if there was any inkling. Too late for any clubs now.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Still not agreed personal terms with Toby Update: Toby Alderweireld from Atlético Madrid passed his medicals tonight at Southampton, but still no personal agreement. #SaintsFC What personal terms are there, it's a loan deal?
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 What personal terms are there, it's a loan deal? For the proposed future transfer, I assume. Possibly has a buy at the end clause then.
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Christ, now is not the time for the board to be clever dicks
Jimmy_D Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Still not agreed personal terms with Toby Update: Toby Alderweireld from Atlético Madrid passed his medicals tonight at Southampton, but still no personal agreement. #SaintsFC Source?

Bucks Saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 the rule states deals must be concluded, not announced. reckon it will be lunchtime tomorrow till we are sure about J-Rod and Morgs Longer to be negative? Sorry, no, it will be all over Sky tonight if any deals
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I wouldn't worry too much. Pretty sure the club are confident this is done and dusted, he wouldn't have been put through a medical process otherwise. The problem with transfer deadline day in this day and age is that it's played out on twitter, every single stage of a transfer. So to us on the outside it looks like a...it's of...it's on...it's off, when in fact it's always pretty much been done.
Heisenberg Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Source? Someone then asks if deal will go ahead. Answer: 100%
sadoldgit Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 We shall see won't we. I hope Krueger isn't exposed again as lacking integrity. When has he been exposed before for "lacking integrity" ???
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 jesus, why must we always take so long to close deals ?
Saint_Abroad Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 What personal terms are there, it's a loan deal? Riders. He requires a bowl of approximately 300 blue M&Ms and an original copy of "The Sun Also Rises" on hand before every match.
DuncanRG Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Lorient centre half Bruno Manga has signed for Cardiff. We were linked with him briefly and the stories mentioned he was being chased by bigger clubs...odd one.
dan abnormal Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 just listening to bbc 5 live, Borini apparently wanted 90kpw at QPR, madness!
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 just listening to bbc 5 live, Borini apparently wanted 90kpw at QPR, madness! I hope he enjoys playing for LFC reserves. What a plank.
Toadhall Saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 jesus, why must we always take so long to close deals ? Because it's the nature of the game Alps. From your experience when has it been different?
DT Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Uh? Aren't personal terms likely to be how much we pay him in wages?
Batman Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Uh? Aren't personal terms likely to be how much we pay him in wages? Bonuses also
Nexstar Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 First time for a while I can remember us having some interest this late in the day.
egg Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 For the proposed future transfer, I assume. Possibly has a buy at the end clause then. Yep. Or bonus payments. Or agents fee. Or any one of a number of things.
