cellone Posted 31 August, 2014 Posted 31 August, 2014 That's true Derry , draganov , the stapler was the saints forever forum along with Orkney saint. I have been Viking for several years now , But due to ohio's dementia it's important to keep names simple for him . We have to look after posters like him I'm saving a name change for when I've got something of interest to contribute. This has been the plan since I joined saints forever.
Ulrich van Gobbel Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 deffo wont be tonight. missed flight. I can confirm the above is true.. He was booked onto a flight from Munich to London yesterday but never made it.
hypochondriac Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I can confirm the above is true.. He was booked onto a flight from Munich to London yesterday but never made it. Is it because he didn't want to come here? Or just an error?
Whitey Grandad Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Is it because he didn't want to come here? Or just an error? No, he probably found out it was a Ryanair flight to London landing in Belfast
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 What's the standard of Austrian league football like - below Belgium league football? Sh*te........... How many did he get for Metz ?
Ken Tone Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I can confirm the above is true.. He was booked onto a flight from Munich to London yesterday but never made it. The question is , did he actually miss his flight or did he "miss his flight" ?
Ulrich van Gobbel Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Is it because he didn't want to come here? Or just an error? I'm only speculating here but as the accepted bid for Mané came out of the blue yesterday, a flight may have been hastily arranged. As Munich is up to a 2 hour drive from Salzburg maybe he didn't have enough time to make it if he got caught in traffic or was delayed. I still think this one still has legs as the information seemed to originate from Sky Sports yesterday which is a good a source as any.

That section of the A8 can be an utter bastard on a Sunday night. A lot of people commuting back to Germany for a weeks work, and at this time of year a lot of Germans ending holidays in Italy and Croatia. Its plausible...
saint_ed Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I've got a feeling he'll end up at Spurs. Not based on anything at all.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I've got a feeling he'll end up at Spurs. Not based on anything at all. If he ends up as Spurs, you'd think one of their wide players will be off. Could be a domino effect transfer.
SuperSAINT Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 If he ends up as Spurs, you'd think one of their wide players will be off. Could be a domino effect transfer. Lennon to QPR IMO.
Plastic Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 (edited) This one gone quiet? Spuds buying him? http://metro.co.uk/2014/09/01/tottenham-set-to-sign-sadio-mane-as-agent-arrives-in-england-ahead-of-11-8m-transfer-4852728/ Edited 1 September, 2014 by Plastic
DrunkenSaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 think the metro is making it up, used the same stuff on there which sky sports used, price pics some wording, Spurs are after Welbeck anyways.
saint_ed Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 think the metro is making it up, used the same stuff on there which sky sports used, price pics some wording, Spurs are after Welbeck anyways. I think Spurs are going to miss out on Welbeck so I'm guessing they'll go ahead with Mane unfortunately, leaving us to sign Redmond.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I think Spurs are going to miss out on Welbeck so I'm guessing they'll go ahead with Mane unfortunately, leaving us to sign Redmond. I think this too.
Doctoroncall Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I think Spurs are going to miss out on Welbeck so I'm guessing they'll go ahead with Mane unfortunately, leaving us to sign Redmond. Redmond has PL experience which is a bonus.
saint_ed Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I think this too. I know Spurs have a BIG rival in signing Welbeck.
Feyenoord1908 Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Never heard of him, surely signing a guy from the Austrian Bundesliga is a massive gamble anyway? Can't see this happening. The Austrian league is not very good but the Red Bull team are full of quality players. Ronald Koeman saw Sadio Mane play last year in the Europa League against Ajax where Salzburg completely humiliated Ajax in their own ground 0-3. Koeman was very impressed by their team then and criticised ajax coach Frank de Boer in the press for not having a Plan B game. I guess Mane stuck in his mind and that he's now trying to get him in.

Useful post, thanks. Let's hope he gets his wish!
Jesus Reigned Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 My Spurs source has confirmed he is having a medical there tomorrow morning Lucky him.... is there any news about Mane though? On reading this I was just able to not spray my computer screen with coffee.
Big Bad Bob Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Is Mane going to Spurs or not? Gordon Simpson (Daily Echo journalist) reckons him and the unpronounceable one are having medicals at Saints as we speak/type.
Bananaman Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 SSN saying medicals taking place for Mane and TA for Saints, neither at the training ground, Mane not in the country
Pancake Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 SSN saying medicals taking place for Mane and TA for Saints, neither at the training ground, Mane not in the country Pretty sure we don't do any medicals at the training ground.
Pancake Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Pretty sure we don't do any medicals at the training ground. Well k Billy has ****ed on that so ignore me!
RinNY Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Pretty sure we don't do any medicals at the training ground. Skysports has a guy called Roger Clarke at Staplewood reporting that two platers are undergoing medicals (the medicals not necessarily at Staplewood, by the wording), and that they are Alderweireld and Mane. Excellent deadline day business, so long as no major player leaves. Sky don't usually make such definite statements without good reason.
Wrensup Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Pretty sure we don't do any medicals at the training ground. At the uni ain't they?
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Pretty sure we don't do any medicals at the training ground. I thought it was one of the facilities we were putting in to ensure we could and didn't have to rely on the uni?
mulletsaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 I thought it was one of the facilities we were putting in to ensure we could and didn't have to rely on the uni? You'd have to say if we're spending £30 million on the training complex it should have been factored in.

Chez Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 You'd have to say if we're spending £30 million on the training complex it should have been factored in. Maybe it doesn't make sense to have medical equipment that might only be used 10 times a year just sitting there getting dusty? Genuine question, are any medicals done at training grounds?
Crazy Diamond Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Doing medicals at the uni helps our relationships and ties with the community. Or something.
cellone Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Medicals at the uni make blinding sense unless you want to pay millions for equipment, staff and facilities that are seldom used.
mulletsaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Medicals at the uni make blinding sense unless you want to pay millions for equipment, staff and facilities that are seldom used. I know bugger all about sport science but I just thought a lot of the equipment required for use in medicals would get plenty of use over the course of the season monitoring fitness and the like. Like I say whaddaIknow?
um pahars Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 May be way off the mark, but I thought the medicals were undertaken at Nuffield/Spire hospitals as scans etc were needed, and the Uni was used for pre season and other times for fitness monitoring (heart rates, oxygen levels etc).

They got spanked 3-0 by Malmö and swedish club football is $hite. Amyway he sounds like a winger
cambsaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Can't be that good. They got spanked 3-0 by Malmö and swedish club football is $hite. Let's hope that Sadio Mane (Sado Masochism) gives our opponents a good spanking (figuratively of course) if he signs for us.
Cookie Crumble Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Hope he does sign really need another centre back.
Saint Garrett Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Hope he does sign really need another centre back. He's a winger lol
saintnicoolas Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 He can share his room with mayuka and they can reminisce about eating sausages and scoring goals in Austria.
JxgrSaint Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 He can share his room with mayuka and they can reminisce about eating sausages and scoring goals in Austria. Mayuka played in Switzerland, BSC Young Boys if memory serves...
Chalkboy Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Skysports has a guy called Roger Clarke at Staplewood reporting that two platers are undergoing medicals Must be the new catering staff.

JoeShmoe Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 If the club have let Ramirez go this must be done
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 1 September, 2014 Posted 1 September, 2014 Heard on Irish radio that we failed to agree terms with Mane earlier today so turned our attentions to Redmond but couldn't get the deal concluded in time. Can anybody confirm this???
