S-Clarke Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 Indeed. I still think we took an Inter player to stop loan fees being exchanged, even if the deals are "separate". And Taider was top of a short list of utterly average players. Hope Stevegrant is big enough to apologise for his abuse the other day... He made the correct point that both loans were separate entities. Which they were. That's why Osvaldo isn't returning because this loan has finished.

Turkish Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 FFS what is wrong with the people on this board? He was not a starter and reaised quite quickly that he couldnt settle here but somehow the sky has fallen in. Get a grip!!! Not sure if settling here was the issue, he seemed to be having a whale of a time by all accounts. Think it might be more the fact that he was having a whale of a time, refused to knuckle down in training. Plus he wore horrendous clothes and baseball caps and seems a bit of a helmet who thought he was the dogs bo**ocks.

Jonnyboy Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 Alpine you old fruit Better than an apricot though.
Batman Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 Not settling is a nice line for both parties, maybe

doddisalegend Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 Spill the goss. Cruising Derby Road in his Lamborghini? Yeah what have I missed.....
alpine_saint Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 He made the correct point that both loans were separate entities. Which they were. That's why Osvaldo isn't returning because this loan has finished. Oh, I am sure the terms and conditions are separate for the two loans. But as I wrote a few mins ago, I guess Inter didnt want to pay a loan fee at this stage so told us to pick a player to come on loan from a short list so neither side passed over money. Strange some of you are totally incapable of understanding subtlety. I am guessing Sassuolo give us our money back. So everyone is satisfied. I have not suggested in the slightest that the collapse of this loan should mean Osvaldo should be coming back.
angelman Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 Yeah what have I missed..... What...!! You weren't working Derby Road when a Lambo passed???
alpine_saint Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 FFS what is wrong with the people on this board? He was not a starter and reaised quite quickly that he couldnt settle here but somehow the sky has fallen in. Get a grip!!! Who is acting like the sky is falling in ? I get the impression most of us are utterly ambivalent about the player himself, and are somewhat concerned/exasperated with the transfer activity of Uncle Les. Hardly Doomsday stuff. Maybe you should get a grip and stop the Hard Man / Über Fan / Cantankerous Old G*t act, whichever it is that taking your fancy today....
doddisalegend Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 What...!! You weren't working Derby Road when a Lambo passed??? Well I was but I was down an alleyway with a punter gutted because Taider would probably have paid more...............
Tokyo-Saint Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 Could it be that it suits us to let him go as we've missed our other permanent targets and this frees up a place for another loanee? I don't get it, where's the pun?
alpine_saint Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 And you'd know more would you I said "I dont think so". Its my opinion. I didnt write "he's wrong". Illiterate tw*t..

kpturner Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 I thought he looked quite tidy against Bayer Leverkusen tbh. However, not too bothered that he has left. "Sky Sources" seem to think he couldn't handle Koeman's training demands.
eelpie Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 The plan is now we can offer another tenner to tempt Townsend here.
Saint Charlie Posted 29 August, 2014 Author Posted 29 August, 2014 Put it this way, who thinks we would have signed Taider if we hadnt ever spoken to Inter re Osvaldo this summer? They tried to dump their cast offs on us in exchange for taking him. Separate deals but connected. We took Taider and didnt take Schelotto after initially looking like we would.
egg Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 Good business IMO. He helped get Osvaldo out of the club. He gave cover if ms went. Now that ms is staying he's not needed. We bin him off and use the wages money for a player we actually need. Not sure what people are complaining about.

SuperMikey Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 I can see the headlines now.. SOUTHAMPTON FIRESALE CONTINUES!!!!!1111

H Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 Here Taïder, gone tomorrow. Boom! Boom! Not bad for MLG I suppose ... but don't insult Basil Brush mate, he's not even in the same ball park
Suhari Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 **** him. If he doesn't want to be on the bus, chuck him off.
SW5 SAINT Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Italy Southampton It doesn't all look like that - Italy I mean.
austsaint Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 **** him. If he doesn't want to be on the bus, chuck him off. Don't you mean on the train? The bus has been traded in apparently.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 He's nothing special, but does really question the pro approach of the coaching system.
angelman Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 I can see the headlines now.. SOUTHAMPTON FIRESALE CONTINUES!!!!!1111 How can a loanee leaving be part of a firesale?
Saint IQ Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Well Jack Cork was off to palace for 3m a week or two ago and he's still here, Ramirez was also off to Seville on loan a few days ago, he's still here. Might well happen but these other ones were 'as good as done' in some people's eyes yet they're still with us!
hassan kachloul Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Pompey are laughing, and that's official. The resident skate on the sicki forum pointed out that taider lasted longer here than ali dia. That's an odd thing for them to say. Wouldn't it be more significant if a player hadn't lasted longer than Ali Dia?
Leicestersaint Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 This just goes to show how utterly stupid football has become in England. ridiculous.
Convict Colony Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 With now Guly and Taider gone we have lost our token mohawk in the squad, who is going to step up and replace that haircut ?
trousers Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Pompey are laughing, and that's official. The resident skate on the sicki forum pointed out that taider lasted longer here than ali dia. Maybe point out in return that we will have paid Taider's wages in full for the time he was here whereas Pompey still haven't paid some the wages of the team that cheated to win the FA Cup final....
Delboy Dave Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 So what happened to this black box les reed was banging about that the scouting department have where they watch endless footage of targets? And a personality check to see if they fit in with the ethos and ethics of the club? Sounds like the black box is about as useful as a chocolate teapot
Professor Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 If the Taider loan really was just a sweetner to allow the Osvaldo deal to go through, you have to wonder why the player went along with it. At the time it looked odd that the club should take on another player for the crowded midfield but surely Taider and his agent could have seen that he wasn't really needed.
scotty Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Not sure if settling here was the issue, he seemed to be having a whale of a time by all accounts. Plus he wore horrendous clothes and baseball caps and seems a bit of a helmet who thought he was the dogs bo**ocks. ....aaah, now we're getting to the nub of it, if ever we need a fashion answer to a footballing conundrum Turkish is the bloke to ask. What brands was he desecrating then, turks? And what should he have been wearing?
doddisalegend Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 So what happened to this black box les reed was banging about that the scouting department have where they watch endless footage of targets? And a personality check to see if they fit in with the ethos and ethics of the club? Sounds like the black box is about as useful as a chocolate teapot Doubt Taider had anything to do with our scouting network if hadn't been for the Osvaldo deal we probably wouldn't have looked twice at him. It was clearly an attempt to get something useful out of Osvaldo leaving so we had a choice of players Inter didn't want.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Be nice to have some sort of official word on this from the club. Dare I mention transparency?
OldNick Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Best it happened now rather than after transfer window. The club may have sold somebody to make room for him in squad
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Hytsreria, bedwetting, trading of abuse..... all in a day of the life of SWF... A player in "does`nt work out shocker"....never happened anywhere before ever...

A player in "does`nt work out shocker"....never happened anywhere before ever... Too many players to mention the others who have left after 3 weeks, eh? The negotiations probably look longer than that. Was probably only near the end that someone realised the kid couldnt speak English and didnt actually want to move but was being pushed out by Inter.

SimplyRed&White Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Be nice to have some sort of official word on this from the club. Dare I mention transparency?Perhaps they will when the deal is done rather than some twitter speculation that Solent picked up on. I am sure it is correct but you make an official statement when the deal is finalized don't you?
Turkish Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 Be nice to have some sort of official word on this from the club. Dare I mention transparency? The club isn't run for the fans anymore so don't hold your breath.
The9 Posted 30 August, 2014 Posted 30 August, 2014 It must have been a pretty rapid change of heart, we were reporting his international call up on the OS and official Facebook/Twitter accounts only 7 hours before. If they'd known he was leaving at that point they probably wouldn't have publicised that. But then that re-loan didn't happen overnight either, guessing Taïder had his agent and Inter working before Saints knew it was happening .
