JRM Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 The long trip, all 20 minutes of it. Yes I'll be going, just like I went on Saturday and also Liverpool away the previous weekend. Point? Point being you're boring everyone with nonsense about it being a bad draw. COVENTRY took about 8k recently in the cup , we'll be entitled to a similar number of cheap tickets, no excuse not to do it really especially for the fans who moan they can never get tickets for Arsenal.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 @RonaldKoeman: Draw #CapitalOneCup! #Arsenal-SaintsFc! If you believe, you can beat everybody!
AussieDog Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 Excellent! I can tick another stadium off my list, it should be relatively cheap, and it's a 4th game I can see on my trip back (assuming I can get tickets for Swansea away which might be a bit tricky) - oh...and I think it's a game we can win too (unless Arsenal change tactics and don't play their reserves)
VectisSaint Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 COVENTRY took about 8k recently in the cup Something to do with not going to their home games in Northampton.
Bucks Saint Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 The long trip, all 20 minutes of it. Yes I'll be going, just like I went on Saturday and also Liverpool away the previous weekend. Point? Whoosh
dubai_phil Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 Week commencing 22nd September. Oh FFS I won't be able to go down Barasti to watch with the gang. I won't be able to watch on TV. I'll be being TMS's on the spot totty reporter at the Ryder Cup launch party in Gleneagles Krap. not,
S-Clarke Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 @RonaldKoeman: Draw #CapitalOneCup! #Arsenal-SaintsFc! If you believe, you can beat everybody! Still can't quite get my head around our actual manager, tweeting.
Sour Mash Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 The only way we'd sell 9,000 tickets for that game is if we'd never played at the ground before. If it's on telly, we'd probably sell about 3,000 tickets. If it isn't on TV, maybe 5,000 tickets. Think Arsenal tend to charge their own fans cheap prices for these sort of games, so it may be close to a sell-out. Yeah, that's the thing unfortunately, the teams that take 5k+ in these situations usually haven't played at the ground before, and are from a lower league side that see such a trip as their biggest game of the year, whereas we'll be going there again not long after, plus have Spurs, West Ham away in a relatively short period. However, cheap tickets, decent ground and away day, plenty of good pubs, no reason not to have a fair few there.

doddisalegend Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 @RonaldKoeman: Draw #CapitalOneCup! #Arsenal-SaintsFc! If you believe, you can beat everybody! I do like Ronald
CB Fry Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 If he's still tweeting come April we've had a bloody good season.
Saints foreva Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 I think we may take a fair few if it's priced reasonably. Last two visits never made general sale.
saintchris23 Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 Point being you're boring everyone with nonsense about it being a bad draw. Where did I say it was a bad draw? I think you're the one talking nonsense fella. And now you're speaking on behalf of everybody and calling me boring? Are you Nick Illingsworth all of a sudden? Congrats.
saintchris23 Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 Whoosh Is that a noise usually attributed to a swinging cricket bat?
hasper57saint Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 If MKD can beat Manure then we (a PL Club) can beat the Arse. COYS
BadgerBadger Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 They've got the Spuds the Sat after so hopefully a second string, which is still a worthy opponent. 1-0 Chambers og
Wiggles31 Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 Kind of pleased. League cup is a bit meh anyways. Plus they'll play a reserve team so we could potentially get a great result and it'll be on the teleh. If we win I'll be saying it's underrated. But yeah shiz cup.
stardustonmyfeet Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 If it's anything like £15 on the gate as was the case yesterday, I'll be there... guess that would be unlikely though.
JxgrSaint Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 On a positive if slightly macabre note, Giroud is injured for a few months so they'll only have Sanogo up front - who is utterly gash...
saintsmike25 Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 I fancy us in this one, no doubt Arsenal will rest a load of players considering the CL. I think we take them into deep water and even win on pens. I prefer this game to the smaller clubs.
Sour Mash Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 They've got the Spuds the Sat after so hopefully a second string, which is still a worthy opponent. 1-0 Chambers og As Spurs have also been drawn at home in the cup, one of the games will have to be moved to the Wednesday night - fingers crossed it ours.
Bananaman Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 Incidentally, anyone hear Holloways embarrassing comments after the game? What a ****
S-Clarke Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 Incidentally, anyone hear Holloways embarrassing comments after the game? What a **** Got a link?
Bananaman Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 Got a link? Was on bbc league cup highlights show this evening...
stardustonmyfeet Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 He said that we're light years away from being premier league. Thought I misheard at first
St Chalet Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 He said that we're light years away from being premier league. Thought I misheard at first Me too, then I remembered he is a carrot crunching c*nt who hates us.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 be good if we sold out our end, plenty on here moan they cant get tickets for London games so here's your chance. get behind the lads and lets beat the gooners
smarmy Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 Nice. Can walk home, and we have to have a decent chance, as they will play a totally changed team, and if it wasn't for Boric ****ing around, we'd have got a draw against their first team last year.
Goatboy Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 Well that's another chance of a cup run abruptly brought to a halt. Struggle in the league and out of the cup.....seasons nearly a write off already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk May aswell go back to supporting someone else eh?
JRM Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 As Spurs have also been drawn at home in the cup, one of the games will have to be moved to the Wednesday night - fingers crossed it ours. Unfortunately it won't be mate, having spoken to a Spurs fan at work just now the following will happen; Spurs win tonight to go through to group stages of Europa League. That will mean they play in that on Thursday 18th September pushing their league game back to Sunday 21st September. Spurs will play at home Wednesday 24th so we will be Tuesday 23rd . having looked at the draw again I would not be surprised if our game is chosen for sky. (Spurs going through tonight will also mean our game there in October will also be on a Sunday)
The Cat Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 Quite. Us taking 9,000 to a third round LC game would actually be rather quite odd. Especially as a lot of our fans never go to games.
Toomer Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 That might not be such a bad draw with them in the Champions League, nothing stoping us from beating them.
KMondo Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 No Giroud, a notoriously fragile midfield, and our reserve right back at centre half. How hard can it be?
Appy Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 The Spurs/Forest game is on the Wednesday so ours will be the Tuesday.
Saint Martini Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 He said that we're light years away from being premier league. Thought I misheard at first To be fair, he does know a bit about not being "Premier League quality". Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
krissyboy31 Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 Sh,!the draw. Their weakened team will still be too strong for us at home.
LGTL Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 Well at least we aren't on tele, might add a few more to the away end.
SNOWY Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 Well at least we aren't on tele, might add a few more to the away end. Has this been confirmed? Which games have been chosen?

david in sweden Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 I'm looking to see who will start the thread demanding Koeman's sacking..... if we lose at The Emirates
Sour Mash Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 http://www.capitalonecup.co.uk/news/article/20140828round3tvgamesse-1881847.aspx Good news, would certainly have put off a few with it being a midweeker etc.
CB Fry Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 http://www.capitalonecup.co.uk/news/article/20140828round3tvgamesse-1881847.aspx Makes sense. Arsenal vs AN Other Prem club at home is probably not a creative choice for a TV match. ITV would have picked it, obviously.
SFCRedandWhite Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 Anyone know roughly how much arsenal charge for games like this? Some of the attendance figures being said are a bit ridiculous, surely.
The Cat Posted 28 August, 2014 Posted 28 August, 2014 Anyone know roughly how much arsenal charge for games like this? Some of the attendance figures being said are a bit ridiculous, surely. I paid £10 to see them play Shrewsbury in 2011 in the cup with a mate who supports Shrews and as far as I know they keep the prices for these games very low. With us being a Premier League team it will hopefully be around £15. The absolute most it would be is £27 which is their Cat C price.

If ticket prices were below £15, which I very much doubt, we would easily sell out 3000.
david in sweden Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 I think this game is winnable. Arsenal are also in a Euro competition, and I'm sure that Wenger won't fielding his strongest side. Hopefully our best ....will be good enough to beat their " second best ". Interestingly, with 6 Prem. sides eliminated in the last round... there are 5 fixtures between Prem. sides in the next round, so that will leave only 8 Prem.sides to go forward.
Batman Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 I will be amazed if they dont make lots of changes. they have villa away the weekend before playing this (with Dortmund that week too) followed by spurs away and then galatasary....

S-Clarke Posted 29 August, 2014 Posted 29 August, 2014 I think we'll see an arsenal team with the likes of Joel Campbell, Podolski, Gnabry, Monreal, Ospina, Coquelin, Diaby (if fit) and the likes. Not a bad team, but certainly a team our 'first 11' could cause problems for.
