The9 Posted 27 August, 2014 Posted 27 August, 2014 I was surprised he was allowed to leave, as he seemed to be getting in the first team squad I wasn't, as he'd failed to break through in the three years he was on the fringes and we were in L1 and the Championship. He showed signs of improvement just before he went though, stopped hitting every pass with the outside of his foot, floating them all, and started sidefooting stuff with more pace and accuracy.

Throw in some running and leaving the ball behind, standing on the ball and not making much space off the ball and he really is the complete player!

Ronaldinho's the only one I've seen doing it more than a handful of times and there are different variations of no-look pass. Hell, even Ben Reeves set up a goal with one last night, it still wasn't on a par with Long's one. Long was in full flight with a rolling ball - most of them which are performed with a stationary or slow-moving ball and standing player.

He looked really assured in the games I saw him play, all be it I think they were in the league cup against lower placed opposition. I've seen less of Reed, but until now he hasn't seemed better than Reeves. It will be interesting to see how both careers develop.
