Pelle just got better and better as soon as that useless Long was taken off. So happy for Pelle. He's going to be a Saints legend. As for Long, get that Number 7 shirt off you useless non entity. You bring shame to Number 7

What a ****** you are

Best moment of the game was hearing the Saints fans who were actually there singing Pelle's name BEFORE he scored. Supporting the team, unlike some of the kn0bjockeys on here. Good effort lads.

Agree with that, you never know, it may have helped Pelle push on and score, hearing the fact he was being supported and obviously doing well. Well done the Saints fans tonight!!

Totally agree - you could see he was lifted by it. Getting on a player's back achieves nothing.

Long was substituted after 91 minutes ART.

I've a confession. Stopped watching Saints at 2-0 MK Dons! What a result.

Well done Saints and Pelle scoring!! Good night (in the end) Phew.

Watch both?? I had MK Dons on the TV over the top of my laptop - obviously headphones on the laptop!

Got there in the end.

Cork for Wanyama was a good substitution - head up a bit more and moving the ball quickly in the absence of Morgan.

Exactly the same as Fulham away last season. Same substitution was a game changer then also.

Love the Cork !

Can't quite work out if Art is being serious or not, usually very slow on the up take, maybe trying to be funny. Difficult to tell.

He's just a nutcase.

Jack Cork makes the difference again (please give him a new contract) he might not be as defensively good as Victor but we always seem to play better (quicker) football when he plays. Game of two halves (first half best forgotten) great to see Pelle score hope it gives him some confidence. Oh and LOL Man U:D

He plays on the left he plays on right

Pelle! Makes Shane Long look good.

By a championship reserve side.

Damn this is utterly frustrating to watch, like that Cardiff game at St Marys last season. See us losing 1-0 to a hit and hoper...

well im worried.

Premier League.....we're having a laugh.

Championship?......We're having a laugh.

League 1? ..........yeh, if we can keep tonights team together for three years.

At what point does Koeman start to get flack

Aha, the scapegoat coat has just been handed to Long. Oh dear.
Don't be daft, quite clear that the problem was Wanyama. Take him off and replace him with Cork and then everything goes right. Wanyama out. How many aerial battles has he won?

Indeed. Great support for the lad as chances kept coming and he kept missing. Superb effort from the travelling fans.

You're an embarrassment.

And a bloody good bollocking it obviously was then! Well done the Koeman!

Its becoming something of a trend though, we have played much better 2nd half in all 3 games so far. Ron needs to get 1st half sorted out.

Would like to think Koeman went nuts at half time, but I don't think he has it in him looks too laid back....probably got Sammy Lee to go mental, whatever was said it worked as we looked a different team from the first.

Cork was the link needed in the middle that controlled that game,as good as VW is he won't do what Cork did imo.

Glad Pelle got his goal in the end,he will get there eventually as even though he looked uninterested in the first half he never stopped working and could of had a hat-trick in the 2nd half.if he can carry that workrate into the prem he will come good

In fairness he did tell Adam Blackmore that maybe he need to put a rocket up them before the match

Paul Jewell, who watched the match for Sky, praising Shane Long at the moment.

I thought he had a great 2nd half, stretching the game, getting in behind, causing the havoc in and around Pelle that opens the game up.

Have to say i'm glad Millwall put out such a changed line-up. Could have been very different at half-time if they'd put their first xi up. Really glad we got the confidence boosting win, good second half display, goal for Pelle and chance for Cork to showcase to Koeman just how important he can be. Now fingers crossed for tough game at West Ham.

I think our high press last season tended to lead to us getting on top early (whether me made it pay was another matter). This season we're not pressing anywhere near as much and I wonder whether this change is as much to blame for our slow start to games. We're feeling our way into them rather than taking them by the scruff of the neck.

Anyway much better second half performance (without ever looking 100% comfortable at the back). Cork did great but thought Pelle deserved his goal after a very poor first half. Thought Long did OK second half too. I do worry at who'll create if Tadic doesn't play.

Dog awful 1st half. Best not mention it.

2nd half, we zipped it around, stopped hoofing from the CB position and got it wide quicker.

Some of the ref'ing was a bit iffy.

Targett looked decent on his debut

Tadic was dangerous as expected

Cork was excellent when he came on. Not signing him up on a new deal in nuts

Pelle arrived today. Put a real shift in, the 2nd half especially. Did everything but score UNTIL he put away a good effort. nice one

Cork my MoM with Pelle a very close 2nd

Best thing for me we have a manager who understands his original game plan isn't working and can pinpoint the faults and make the right changes, it will take time .... Patience :)

LVG's post match interview, what the actual ****? He thinks they were unlucky and that you cannot read into the game as they had lots of kids and injuries, they did their best.

They played Kagawa, Hernandez, Evans, De Gea, Welbeck, Jananzi............

He seems like a bit of a fool to me.

I think the pressing game would also help Pelle out. Win the ball further up the field, more midfield support and less punting it forward to the big man when we win it 30 yrds from our own goal. Seems silly that the pressing style we have been building towards as a club for the last 2 years seems to have been left for dead.

As for Saturday hopefully we will get two* 2nd half performances in a row. Fed up of losing to Hoof Ham with a couple of hammerings since we've been back in the prem!

Koeman tells Solent he expects to sign at least one new player before the weekend.

Very strong rumours that it will be Redmond from Norwich, was mentioned on local TV.

Predicted before the game that Pelle would score but would go on to disappoint (again) against superior defences.

Paul Jewell who was watching the game on SSN said that Pelle "must have had 12 attempts and this was his first on target".

What game were you watching - was a willing runner without having that truly electric turn of pace. Had a poor game on the whole, terrible touch.

Did you watch the game? We were absolutely diabolical in the first half. Reel it in

TBH half the people on here are just looking for a wind up oppo. Take it with a pinch of salt.
