ooh it's a corner Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 There's something magical about the first home game of a season. meeting friends and family for a beer, lots of talking points from the summer's transfers, spotting the small changes to the ground.... I'm old enough not to get too emotional about football these days but the opening home fixture still fills me with a child like sense of optimism and excitement. looking forward to midday and heading out of home to the pre-match boozer...
suewhistle Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 I'm leaving shortly. I'm old enough to know better too!
simo Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 I bloody didn't look at the fixtures when I arranged to take the boy to thorpe park for his birthday , neither of us are happy !
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 I bloody didn't look at the fixtures when I arranged to take the boy to thorpe park for his birthday , neither of us are happy ! Be sure to purchase a picture of you two looking stony faced and grumpy on the rollercoasters when everyone else is screaming their heads off.
Graffito Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 I bloody didn't look at the fixtures when I arranged to take the boy to thorpe park for his birthday , neither of us are happy ! First thing I do every season is give The Management a fixture list and she organises everything else around it.
del boy Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 I'm leaving shortly. I'm old enough to know better too! and me, but when it comes to Saints I'm always anticipating being disappointed by my excited anticipation
1576 Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 This year I really don't give a ****!!! If someone offered me a round of golf instead I think I'd be off. Maybe I'll feel better when I get to the pub.
Saint Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 I bloody didn't look at the fixtures when I arranged to take the boy to thorpe park for his birthday , neither of us are happy ! If neither of you want to go to Thorpe Park, why not just sack it off and go to the football?
pap Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 Going to pick bro up, drive back to my old dears, then taxi to St. Mary's for footy and beers!
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 If neither of you want to go to Thorpe Park, why not just sack it off and go to the football? One would assume tickets were booked in advance.
Colinjb Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 First home league game since moving back to Hampshire. A wonderful feeling.
Whitey Grandad Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 First thing I do every season is give The Management a fixture list and she organises everything else around it. Me too. Every holiday/trip is organised around it which is why I get mightily peeved when TV moves the dates.
SNSUN Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 I'm maintaining the status quo by heading off to work. :-(
Ziggy Posted 23 August, 2014 Posted 23 August, 2014 Can't make today but have given my ST to a mate. COYS!!
