Southampton Nightlife - suggestions

As you can tell from my location I am not local to Southampton. A group of us are having a night out after the game tonight. Can anyone recommend any pubs, bars and restaurants?

 

Will be a mixed group of couples all just on the right side of 40 so want a bit of atmosphere but still chance to catch up etc rather than wall to wall drunk teenagers

Platform Tavern, food and atmosphere, although a little small.
