Bewildered Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 (edited) Something to watch if you are bored. Team: Cropper, Mason, McCarthy, Wood, Debayo, Flannigan, Hesketh, Seager, Sims, Rowe, McQueen. Subs: Johns, Clinton, Regis, Little, Demkiv. 2-0 up Rowe and Seager the scorers Edited 22 August, 2014 by Bewildered
Bewildered Posted 22 August, 2014 Author Posted 22 August, 2014 (edited) not working for me It's working for me right now as I type this (It's HT, nothing is happening), but it was really laggy during the first half. I don't know if this is West Hams first time doing this, but they should have tested it out first. edit: back underway, Cody Cropper makes Gazzaniga look like Buffon. Saint Garrett Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 2-0 up and taking te ****. Nearly went tonight as my mates are west ham, couldn't be bothered in the end, looks like a decent performance so far though. Mates said Sims looks class
Saint Charlie Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 Cropper is awful. Not sure why we bothered giving him a contract extension. GK a big area of weakness for the club as a whole. No pipeline whatsoever.
Sevvy Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 2-1 some good play Cropper did one good save, a bit pin ball in the egoal mouth at times.
washsaint Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 what the hell you on about Charlie? How on earth can you say he is awful? Did you see any of the game? He was excellent: commanded his area, 1 great save and distribution was superb. Very few of the outfield players were any good and the defence was porous. But was Cropper useless? Absolutely not.
suewhistle Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 Yep, I agree about Cropper... Rowe seems to have pace to burn.
VectisSaint Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 GK a big area of weakness for the club as a whole. No pipeline whatsoever. Yep sure is, Poland's #1, England's #3, US International and England's GK coach, real weakness. Oh, forgot about Super Kelvin and Gazza.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 have to say I think we were really poor. I only watched the 2nd H so things might have been different in the first 45mins.

Not specifically this game. He will never play for our first team. General thoughts...the gap between this and first team football is huge. Most of these under 21 sides wouldn't win the Conference.
washsaint Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 That really takes the biscuit Charlie. A thread talking about the U21 game gives you the opportunity to slag off Cropper without even seeing the game. So what do you form the basis of your opinion on?
the_emu Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 Was it just me who struggled to distinguish our players (away strip with dark socks) with the ref wearing black? I think there were at least two or three midfield passes that went astray towards the ref.
VectisSaint Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 Just in case anyone is wondering, given all the negativity and strange comments, we won 2-1.
Faz Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 People forget just how young this team is. And the purpose is not to win the U21 league, but to produce players for the 1st team; something Saints are incredibly good at
Sour Mash Posted 22 August, 2014 Posted 22 August, 2014 I actually went along as it's not far off for me and I'm a sad c**t. I thought West Ham pegged us back a lot, some good last ditch defending from Wood and McCarthy at times. Cropper struggled in my eyes, just didn't command his box at all. Made one good save. I thought Rowe and McQueen looked the best of the rest, certainly potential there, but it's still a big step up. Goes without saying we've "lost" Shaw, Chambers, Reed, Targett and Gallagher from our under 21s, so what is playing at the moment is the best of the rest.

I watched the game and have seen Cropper on other occassions. Just giving an opinion, not slagging him off. He won't make our first team.
