Ever thought it may be because he doesn't fit their system and the don't want to offload him to a top 6\7 team that will be competing directly with Utd because they do actually rate him to some extent?

Surely that's the ONLY reason they'd stipulate a mid-table move. He isn't the greatest striker England has ever seen, but he would be a very good addition to our squad IMO. If Hull get Wellbeck for what we paid for Long +3m they have had the best deal by a long way. Wellbeck playing up front in a central position or alongside Pelle would be superb IMO

Hell yes! This is the most important opportunity for our club this summer in my opinion, prolific, hungry, experience, fast and small - he will play off Pelle brilliantly. What's more if Jay Rod head goes and he leaves in January, Welbeck will have already replaced him. We must go all out to sign him.

The Premier League gives them money, lots of it, they sell tickets to supporters as well. There is no reason for them not to be able to afford their salary mass. The PL gave us 80 million £ as well, take into accout ticket sales that gives us about 100 million £ in annual revenues and yet we're fund transfers and apparently consequent salaries from player sales. Our player salary mass is about 48 million £ so the PL central fund easily covers it.
