Coxford_lou Posted 2 April, 2015 Author Posted 2 April, 2015 Damn....I was thinking of popping by.... You're David Cameron??! Oh my.
trousers Posted 2 April, 2015 Posted 2 April, 2015 You're David Cameron??! Oh my. Almost.....we're twins... separated at birth
Coxford_lou Posted 2 April, 2015 Author Posted 2 April, 2015 Almost.....we're twins... separated at birth Wow. This could be interesting. I hope you don't have the same effect on me as he does!
Patrick Bateman Posted 2 April, 2015 Posted 2 April, 2015 Wow. This could be interesting. I hope you don't have the same effect on me as he does! Well I like Cameron too. So once Jeff gets bored, I'll pick up from where he left off
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 2 April, 2015 Posted 2 April, 2015 Wow. This could be interesting. I hope you don't have the same effect on me as he does! Yes Trousers, you mustn't make her gag...
Bucks Saint Posted 2 April, 2015 Posted 2 April, 2015 I will be there, gagging or otherwise. Hope about 6-6.30
Patrick Bateman Posted 2 April, 2015 Posted 2 April, 2015 Pub is the Wheatsheaf by the way. What's the URL/address? I'll come along, on my way home, so why not.
Crazy Diamond Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 Are you joining us, Crazy? Could do. I finish work at 5:30, would probably be there for just after six. Will have to see how it goes, can see myself being busy that day what with Friday and Monday's holidays.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 http://www.wheatsheafborough.co.uk/ This pub here...
saintmatt Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 Can't make this one but would be keen to come along going forward
Coxford_lou Posted 3 April, 2015 Author Posted 3 April, 2015 http://www.wheatsheafborough.co.uk/ This pub here... Can I just double check with that because I thought we were going for The Sheaf?
Bucks Saint Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 Can I just double check with that because I thought we were going for The Sheaf? Fine with me. Does anyone have a view of whether the Sheaf is likely to be less rammed than the Wheatsheaf usually gets? Might make it easier to grab a suitable spot for the all important discussions about other posters and the eventual voting
Pancake Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 Fine with me. Does anyone have a view of whether the Sheaf is likely to be less rammed than the Wheatsheaf usually gets? Might make it easier to grab a suitable spot for the all important discussions about other posters and the eventual voting Sheaf will be quiet a **** on Tuesday I imagine, usually is.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 I don't mind which one. Can someone post up the details (website and name) of the pub we're actually going to go for, as both have similar names!
Bucks Saint Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 MIt is a good pub - but a better one is the Sheaf round the corner on Southwark Street http://www.redcarpubs.com/The-Wheatsheaf. Run by the guy who used to run the Wheatsheaf on Stoney St (previous post). When that was closed to extend the rail line into London Bridge he moved into the basement of the old hop cellars round the corner. Then the original Wheatsheaf opened again meaning there were two pubs of the same name within a minutes of each other - confusing! The Sheaf is a bit less expensive than the WS, good pub food, sport on TV and excellent beers. Market Porter also excellent next to the WS. I work near there so know every pub in a mile radius. Great area. Actually ignore me - I can't make the meet up in a couple of weeks! For Jeff's benefit - Sheaf info. Its just around the corner from the WS, almost opposite the Costa Coffee place, entrance at street level but everything else down below.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 M For Jeff's benefit - Sheaf info. Its just around the corner from the WS, almost opposite the Costa Coffee place, entrance at street level but everything else down below. Cheers mate.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 Is the pub going to have phone reception, being underground and all, if someone can't find it are they going to struggle to get hold of us...
Pancake Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 Is the pub going to have phone reception, being underground and all, if someone can't find it are they going to struggle to get hold of us... Yes, good 3G in most of it but 4G goes away nearer the back tables. O2 and Voda that is, I don't carry an EE
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 3 April, 2015 Posted 3 April, 2015 Yes, good 3G in most of it but 4G goes away nearer the back tables. O2 and Voda that is, I don't carry an EE Good stuff!
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 6 April, 2015 Posted 6 April, 2015 All still on for tomorrow night? Making sure before I walk to the train station in the morning instead of driving...
Coxford_lou Posted 6 April, 2015 Author Posted 6 April, 2015 All still on for tomorrow night? Making sure before I walk to the train station in the morning instead of driving... Yup, we're on...
Coxford_lou Posted 6 April, 2015 Author Posted 6 April, 2015 Pretend that the Bear had sent my post. I still don't get it!
Bucks Saint Posted 6 April, 2015 Posted 6 April, 2015 All still on for tomorrow night? Making sure before I walk to the train station in the morning instead of driving... Bit of an effort for me - trains messed up by ongoing engineering work and no other real reason to be in London tomorrow now, but then have a solid attendance record to protect, so I will be there
Coxford_lou Posted 6 April, 2015 Author Posted 6 April, 2015 Bit of an effort for me - trains messed up by ongoing engineering work and no other real reason to be in London tomorrow now, but then have a solid attendance record to protect, so I will be there Oh no! I'll buy you a pint, Bucks...
Coxford_lou Posted 6 April, 2015 Author Posted 6 April, 2015 Not sure I can make this one I'm afraid. How many are going? Just going to be a Lou/Jeff cosy evening? We can just argue all night.... I wonder who will storm out first?!
Bucks Saint Posted 6 April, 2015 Posted 6 April, 2015 Not sure I can make this one I'm afraid. How many are going? Just going to be a Lou/Jeff cosy evening? Crazy Diamond was a poss; Paddy Bateman would not miss it; SW5 was nailed on a few weeks ago at least.
Coxford_lou Posted 6 April, 2015 Author Posted 6 April, 2015 Not sure I can make this one I'm afraid. How many are going? Just going to be a Lou/Jeff cosy evening? PS. Sorry you can't make it.

SW5 SAINT Posted 7 April, 2015 Posted 7 April, 2015 I'm going to try and make it. I'm assuming it is the Wheatsheaf?
Bucks Saint Posted 7 April, 2015 Posted 7 April, 2015 I'm going to try and make it. I'm assuming it is the Wheatsheaf? No it's the Sheaf, around the corner. This link helpfully has the wrong name in the title but the right one is below ground http://www.redcarpubs.com/The-Wheatsheaf
SW5 SAINT Posted 7 April, 2015 Posted 7 April, 2015 Ah right, cheers for that, that's why I was confused. Easily done with me! So it's at 24 Southwark St?
Coxford_lou Posted 7 April, 2015 Author Posted 7 April, 2015 PS. If anyone wants to come, but is nervous about finding everyone, feel free to PM me and exchange mobile numbers. Or alternatively, if you see someone with long dark hair, in a green tshirt, looking a bit lost, that'll be me.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 7 April, 2015 Posted 7 April, 2015 PS. If anyone wants to come, but is nervous about finding everyone, feel free to PM me and exchange mobile numbers. Or alternatively, if you see someone with long dark hair, in a green tshirt, looking a bit lost, that'll be me. Or Pap
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 7 April, 2015 Posted 7 April, 2015 I'll be in a white shirt, brown suit jacket, probably looking at my phone.
Coxford_lou Posted 7 April, 2015 Author Posted 7 April, 2015 Or Pap Pap's long dark hair is just a pale imitation.
