I'm giving you actual numbers and facts. For obvious reasons I can't say how I'm aware of them.

At the end of the day mate believe what you want. Pretty please.

To be fair to Redslo you have reported some Facts he naturally is going to ask where with the amount of speculation peddled as facts by other posters on the board. Very interesting info though.

Without wishing to be considered to be the least bit sycophantic, one tweet from Solent today made me think the future is reassuring.

When Clyne scored for Saints, apparently our owner, Miss Liebherr leapt from her seat just like a true fan.

Also, the fact she travelled up with the squad last night and stayed in the same hotel makes me think if she has not actually become a fan she is showing a healthy interest in the club over and above just being a random owner. Cortese regularly missed matches and sometimes Saints previously were not even represented in the Board room at games.

Maybe, just maybe we have an owner who has become genuinely interested in our fate and that can be no bad thing. I know we lost today but there were encouraging signs on and off the pitch. Onwards and upwards.

Christ I sound like NickG

No, not excited enough! .....and you have been too slow to drop your negative conspiracies ;)

Still as long as you are enjoying the present and good for the £50 to charity when we stay up, unless you were right, I was just hot air and we are going down?

Tsk Egg. You should know by now you can't say things like that on here with evidence. You'll have the CoC all over you on this later today, how dare you suggest such things with proof. How dare you question our glorious former CEO. Our dreams have died, our ambition went the day he went, the new board are incompetent. Don't let a few facts like he was sp*nking kats money left right and centre get in the way of the blind faith from the cult.

So, she had no say in any of that?

Jamie, I think you've just hit the nail on the head.

One highly plausible version of the story is that NC was using SFC funds like they were his own as that was how things had been (to some extent at least) with the old man. Katherina was not happy at NC's level of spending of (what was now, effectively) HER money and this came to a head in late 2013. At which point NC was asked to work his 3 months notice..... and the rest is history. Add to it the strong rumours that Katherina then had to put her hand into her own pocket to fill the gaps left by NC. Hence (perhaps) the "never never" comment made earlier in this thread.

So if this version is correct, the whole NC leaving, manager leaving - albeit at the end of the season, players leaving ("club in meltdown" headlines) could very well have been down to NC spending money that a) was not his and b) had not been authorised.

A criticism that I would have, and it's only a criticism because it is what I would do, is that those up top don't actually come out and say this. Tell people why things had to change and that they weren't sustainable. I realise that they obviously don't want to, but it lays themselves open to more and more rubbish being thrown at them. I have to slightly agree with a recent online article that said all the negative stories snow balling, couldn't have done any good for the payers left behind, regardless to their veracity.

One thing is telling....this great "Executive Chairman", with reports of him being courted by AC Milan and such likes, I have to wonder why he is not currently working at any football club? You would have thought given his reputation that he would have been snapped up in double quick time. Maybe he is just biding his time.

I am starting to believe this too Duncan. It's reassuring, very reassuring. If we continue to provide Koeman with the last pieces of the jigsaw he needs now, and we keep something in the bank to play with in January if a lucky opportunity comes along then I think my faith in our strategic leadership will return.

The Boardroom made some appalling mistakes, but they might have learnt from them. They can only build upon this with stability at the top. We might, just might, be about to all push this club forward again after all.

Maybe the AC Milan links were planted by Cortese himself and in reality no other club wants to touch him with a bargepole.

You reckon??! Put it this way, the first rumours of Cortese being linked with AC Milan came about in January 2010, he'd been here half a season and we were in L1. Ask yourself why would one of the biggest clubs in Europe want a CEO who had 6 months experience running a third tier English club. There was also these rumours in january this year, just before he left. Funny how he didn't walk straight into the job as according to reports they'd been chasing him for 4 years.

Was sitting behind KL, RK and (2 seats away from them) Les Reed, at the Leverkusen match. KL spent the whole time talking about the squad and match in progress with RK. Also, as a side note, RK is a really bloody nice bloke who talked with real passion about the season and the rebuilding process. They got me on board that day

So you can say anything about whichever side you want to believe without any verification and expect to be believed or call cult of something or other?

I have no axe to grind either way, I thought that Cortese did a great job in fulfilling Markus Liebherr's declared vision. If he did it in a way that was not acceptable to the new owner then he's an employee and is as expendable as any of us. I'm gratified that we now seem to have an owner who is prepared to re-commit the money received on quality replacements..both in management and playing staff.

When I see figures published then there is a point to discuss - when they are thrown out without any kind of proof source I tend to be dubious until I see it - is that not logical?

posted this on the lambert thread but might be better placed here:

God knows what has actually happened at the club, but I still can't see much more evidence than Cortese basically got fired for spunking a lot of Liebherr's money on Ramirez and Osvaldo, and others who have largely been sh|te. There's a pretty long list if you include Mayuka, Forren, Tadanari etc. Most likely the owners recognised our most valued assets have come from the academy or players we have brought in at a lower value and improved, rather than the ones who have commanded big fees.

We certainly can't compete with the big clubs on wages, but obviously these players would have passed up the extra 20, 30, 40, 50k a week just to play for Cortese. That seems to be the suggestion. Shame that theory is never going to be put to the test.

Add that to the cost of the training ground, the legal fees for the constant court cases as well as a commercial income of around £7m which is lower than an average sized championship club like Watford and you start to get the picture. a lot going out, not a lot coming in.

A lot of stuff wont be in the public domain, personally i have people away from mongboards that i know know what has happened at the club and what some people say on here ties in with that so i choose to trust what they say. Each to their own what they want to believe. It's Cortese is god and can do no wrong stance of song along with the wailing and grizzling and the accusations of anti saints agendas or hating Cortese that get wheeled out everytime anyone says anothing against him that is so grating.

Yep. Not a sustainable way to run a football club. God knows what else is in these players contracts (read P*mpey)

I understand the preference for believing those that you know whether on a board or not but it's not really credible to post it as 'fact' when that can't be proven - that would be my issue with egg's post and others of a similar nature.

I love a rumour as much as anyone but so many turn out to be complete fabrication that it's hardly surprising that the credibility is questionable, hence it's entirely legitimate to ask for a source...isn't it?

I usually read Guided Missile's posts with interest

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51192-Player-Budget-That-s-About-It&highlight=guided+missile

I'm content with how the club is being run right now.

Anyone know whether we've got a better take up on the executive boxes than last year - they seemed to be largely empty for most matches which given that they were pretty much 100% occupied during our previous time in Prem League was a generally poor show.

Were they just too expensively priced for the corporates to take up?
