AMD is traditionally the cheaper end of the market, but their latest high end offerings are made for the very latest games. Intel have greater support, generally have better performance across the range and better power consumption. It all depends what you want it to do.

saint_kev Posted 17 August, 2014 Posted 17 August, 2014 If you want cheap speedy home PC, AMD If you want a fast software development PC or to rip blu-rays to your library, intel i7 (Might mean nothing to you, but I found Linux kernel compiles would occasionally fail on AMD chips)
